07 Jan. EN Application for an inquest of lunacy on Albert Ryder was made in probate court to-day.  The Sheriff was authorized to arrest him.  The hearing will be at 9:30 o'clock to-morrow morning.
08 Jan. EN Albert Ryder was to-day adjudged insane and application has been made for his removal to the Toledo asylum.
10 Jan. EN Edward Cate was to-day adjudged an imbecile and application was made for the appointment of a guardian.
EN An order for the removal of Edward Ryder to the Toledo Asylum was received today and he will be taken there next week.
11 Jan. EN Application has been made to probate the will of Williard H. Rittenour, deceased.
15 Jan. EN Hastings.  John Gerhart has been appointed guardian of Edward Cate, an imbecile of this neighborhood.
Application was made to probate the will of Barbara Crabbs, deceased.
18 Jan. EN Jacob Brehm is a bachelor who resides on East Third Street, performing his own household duties.  For the past few months he has been insane and this afternoon complaint was made to the probate judge.  Brehm is in the habit of running around in scanty attire and shoes he never wears.  Lately he will not make a fire for himself and within the past two or three days he has refused to eat anything for fear of being poisoned.  He believes his neighbors are his enemies who are striving to put him out of the way to gain possession of his property.  He will probably be taken into custody.
Paul May has been appointed guardian of Edward P. May, son of Jonathan L. and Mary May.  Bond $500.

01 Feb. EN An inquest of lunacy was held today on Mrs. Aaron S. Fitz.  She was adjudged insane and application was made for her removal to the Toledo asylum.  Physically she is somewhat stronger to-day, but her mental faculties are still impaired.
02 Feb. EN B.F. Platt has been appointed administrator of the estate of Charlotte Cline, deceased.  Bond $200.
04 Feb. EN Application has been made to probate the will of George Beam, deceased, of Wilamina Wise, deceased, and of Adam Matthes, deceased.
06 Feb. EN H.W. Hildebrandt has been appointed administrator de bonis non with will annexed of the estate of George W. Campbell, deceased.  Bond $10,000.
07 Feb. EN The three children of Aaron Fitz were taken to the Children's Home yesterday.
== Miss Emma I. Loomis of the second ward [Mansfield] was adjudged insane to-day and will be taken to the Toledo asylum.
11 Feb. EN A.J. Twitchell has been appointed executor of the estate of Charles Twitchell, deceased.  Bond $50,000.
12 Feb. EN Jesse Cole, who escaped from the Toledo asylum several months ago, is again in jail.  Although his mind has been apparently sound since his return his insanity became violent again last night and when he returned home he drove his mother from the house.  He brandished a revolver and raved in a frightful manner, tearing down the window curtains and turning things topsy turvy.  Officers were sent for but his mother advised that he be left alone until to-day, owing to the violence of his condition, and Jesse was not disturbed until this morning when the sheriff took him into custody.  An inquest of lunacy was held at 2 o'clock this afternoon.  Cole has escaped twice from the Toledo asylum and when he is sent there again more care should be taken to keep him there.  Although he may be sane, for several moths at a time, he becomes dangerous when his mind wanders and may sometime commit some horrible deed.  The expense of inquests and transportation has to be borne by the county.  If he cannot be kept at the asylum the additional expense of these inquests, etc., should be borne by the state.

13 Feb. EN The application to remove Emma I. Loomis to the Toledo Asylum has been granted.  Jesse Cole was adjudged insane at the inquest held yesterday.
16 Feb. EN George Knofflock was appointed guardian of Michael G. Knofflock, heir of Alvina Knofflock, deceased.

Mansfield, June 28.  Horace A. Heldman was adjudged insane at an inquest of lunacy held this morning in probate court.
Horace Heldman, who was to-day adjudged insane, has a peculiar mania.  He has been an inmate of the infirmary and lately he took a notion to destroy the Constitution of the United States and establish a monarchy.  He appointed as king a colored inmate of the infirmary.  He became dissatisfied with his regent so he deposed the colored king and appointed in his stead Superintendent Palmer.  At the inquest to-day when Superintendent Palmer signed an affidavit Heldman wanted to know if the king had abdicated.  When told that he had, Heldman seemed very penitent for having attempted to destroy the republic.

20 Nov. WE Emerson Heck, who was appointed administrator of E.B. Heck's estate by the Probate Court, had his appointment revoked by the Probate Court, last Saturday, and Marion Darling was appointed in his place.

W.S. Harrington filed bond in sum of $2,000 and was appointed administrator of the estate of Sarah A. Smith, deceased.
H.E. Bell filed bond of $1,000 and was appointed guardian of Glen H. Terman, an infant boy 2 years of age.

18 Dec. WE The will of George D. Harter has been opened and read, but has not yet been probated.  He has left numerous legacies and keepsakes to a number of relatives and friends.  His executors are Isaac Harter and Henry W. Harter.  He leaves $5,000 to the Trinity Lutheran church to be invested in first mortgage bonds, and $2,000 to the Sunday School of this church.  He gives his interest in the bank of Isaac Harter & Son to his brothers, M.D. Harter, Isaac Harter and Henry W. Harter, who are surviving partners, together with $50,000 in money, to be shared alike, and all his interest, real and personal, in his father's estate, which at a conservative estimate will amount to $50,000 more.  All the balance of his estate he gives to his wfie, as residuary legatee.  This blance amounts to about $250,000.  Besides this Mrs. Harter has in her own right something over a million dollars.  [reprinted from the Canton News Democrat]
