Weiser vs. Keller
(Bastardy Case)

source:  [Ohio Liberal:  14 August 1878]

Amanda Weiser, an unmarried woman residing in Jackson township, filed a complaint before C.C. Laser, a Justice of the Peace in and for said township, that on the 11th. day of July she was delivered of a bastard child, which is now living, and that one Geo. W. Keller is the father of said child.  Upon which complaint a warrant was issued and the said Keller was arrested the same day by Jacob Scheaffer, constable.  Amanda's testimony was reduced to writing by said Justice, the same was considered as true, and the said George W. Keller refusing to pay the said Amanda Weiser to her satisfaction, said Justice demanded that the defendant enter into recognizance in the sum of three hundred dollars for his appearance at the next term of the Court of Common Pleas of Richland County, Ohio, to answer said complaint and abide the decision of the Court.  The recognizance is signed by George W. Keller and Jacob M. Hummell.
