Death traveling by train has reaped a big harvest in Richland County during the past few years.  From Nov. 15, 1905 to the present time there has been 59 deaths, the subject of inquests by the Coroner, and of this number 22 died while in the employ of the railroad, on railroad property or by being struck at grade crossings

The shocking death of Williard Oswalt and William Derrow at Amsbaugh's crossing Saturday night has resulted in agitation for the abolishing of crossings at some of the dangerous points in the city and county.  The following is a list of fatalities charged to the railroads during the past two years:
