OLD RECOLLECTIONS

A more beautiful day for the 18th. annual reunion of the 120th. could not well be wished for.  The exercises took place in Au's grove about one-half mile from Ontario Station.  When the Mansfield delegation arrived the line of march to the grove was formed as follows:

Ontario brass band;  G.A.R. band of Mansfield;  McLaughlin Post and veterans;  Lucas brass band and drum corps.  Thee were preceded by the Galion light infantry.  At 9 o'clock the delegation from Lexington, Conger Post and families arrived 200 strong.  They were accompanied by the Lexington brass band.  After arriving at the grounds the time was whiled waway by music from the four bands present.  The arrangements were perfect in every particular.  The relief corps were met at the depot and conveyed to the grounds in carriages, and those who drove out found men on the grounds to take care of their teams.

The committee handled the vast crowd of about 2,000 in such a manner that there was no confusion in any case.  the following were the officers and the committee of arrangements:

President, Captain C. Au, Ontario;  Vice-President, Captain J.P. Rummel, Mansfield;  Secretary and Treasurer, Lieutenant, J.P. Van Nest, Wooster;  Chief Marshal, Lieutenant William B. Milligan, Ontario;  Assistant Marshal, Lieutenant J.R. Pollock, Mansfield;  Captain W.G. Patterson, John L. Race, Dr. J.S. Stewart, W.N. Craig, Hiram Marvin, James S. Trimble, John H. Au, J.M. Shaffer, J.S.B. Matson, Alfred Wilson and T.E. Scott.

Capt. Au, after calling the vast concourse of people to order at 10 o'clock, announced the singing of the 120th. rally song by the regiment and audience.  The song was composed by B.J. Bechtel of Wooster expressly for this reunion.  Three rousing cheers were then given for the grand old banner.  Rev. I.N. Kieffer of Wooster then followed with an invocation.

ADDRESS OF WELCOME

It afforded him great pleasure in behalf of the residents of Ontario.  He had but one word to say and that is the word inscribed on the banner, "Welcome".

The address was an able one, which was highly complimentary to the brae boys of the 120th.

Captain C. Au of Ontario, in a few words, introduced Captain Taylor of Wooster, who made the response.  His remarks were of a humorous nature, and they were heartily received.

The first business was the calling of roll of the 120th.  The following answered:
