Frederick Lauer, who we mentioned last week as committing a rape upon the person of the daughter of George Bittinger, of Plymouth, was brought before Wm. Drennan, Justice of the Peace of that place, and waiving examination was bound over to the Court of Common Pleas in the sum of $500, and being unable to furnish the necessary bail was remanded to the county jail to await trial. The facts in this case appear to be in Lauer's favor, as undoubtedly no rape was committed, but being caught in the act of illicit connection the above charge has been trumped up.
