Some Shelby Deaths ...

SHELBY -- Among the number who have died during the week are as follows:  Mr. JOSEPH BAKER, single, aged 60, who died on the 10th. and was buried on the 12th.  The funeral services of the late Mr. CARTER F. FISH, of the firm Fish, Storer & Davis, were held at his home on Wall Street, on the 13th. inst., Mr. Fish was a resident of his place since 1876, and was extensively known over the State as a man of industry and strict business habits.  He leaves a wife, two sons and a daughter to mourn the loss of a kind husband and an indulgent father.  The body of Mrs. THORN of Chicago, Ill., accompanied by her husband and friends, was brought here on Sunday the 15th., and interred in the old cemetery.  Mrs. Thorn was formerly Miss Hattie Montimer of this place, and a resident for a number of years before the war of 1861.  Mrs. MARGARET LANDERMILK [Lautermilch] departed this life Monday -- from a malignant disease -- the cause of much suffering of a long time.

** The May 3rd., 1883 issue of THE HERALD, gives a further death notice of Margaret Lautermilch, as follows:

DIED -- At Shelby, April 16th., Mrs. MARGARET LAUTERMILCH, at the residence of Mrs. Huder, aged 65 years, 3 months and 5 days.
