MANSFIELD -- Mrs. Florence E. Umbarger, 87, of 10 Blymer Ave., former employee of Kobacker Department Store and Taylor Metal Products, widow of Harold N. Umbarger, died Tuesday evening in Mansfield General Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Umbarger was born Dec. 20, 1895, in Ontario and lived in this area all of her life.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Jared Mansfield Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and past regent, the Springmill Garden Club, Herb Society, Gesneriad Society, Indoor Light Gardening Club and a life member of the Audubon Society and Kingwood Council.

Surviving are three sons, Dr. H. Edwin Umbarger of West Lafayette, Indiana, Malcolm L. Umbarger of Columbus, and James H. Umbarger of Mansfield and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Finefrock Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Aaron Cunningham, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
