DAISY M. GATES, a very bright and interesting child, daughter of Sheriff John Gates, died of diphtheria at the Sheriff's residence on Sunday, aged 8 years, 8 months and 6 days.  The remains were interred in Oakland Cemetery at Shelby, at 12 M. on Tuesday.

The funeral took place from the Sheriff's residence, Tuesday, May 29th., at 9 A.M.  Interment in Oakland Cemetery, at Shelby, at 12 M.
