Esther S.F., infant daughter of Albert A. and Mary L. Shafer, died on Friday last, and was buried on Sunday from Salem Lutheran church.  She was just seven days more than one year old.  For weeks the little one hung between life and death, while the parents' hopes rose and fell from day to day.  All was done that love, medical skill and careful nursing could do; but in vain.  Death claimed her and she sleeps with Jesus.  The funeral was largely attended.  The little body was laid away in the Bellville Cemetery.  Mrs. Dr. Lewis, Mrs. Simpson, Mr. S. Anderson, Mr. Lyle Garber and Miss Rose Fisher furnished the music, to whom the parents and friends feel that they are deeply indebted for the kindness.  The pastor had charge of the services at the church and cemetery.  A profusion of flowers sent by kind friends adorned the casket and pulpit in the church, and afterwards the little grave.  The Misses Emma Steel, Coursen, Edna Olin, and Grace Dean were pall bearers.
