Mrs. Louisa Garton, who died at the home of W.W. Disbro last Thursday morning was buried at Bucyrus [Crawford Co.] yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Garton was the daughter of Samuel Norton of Saratoga, New York, and came to Ohio with her father in 1819, traversing the entire distance, 600 miles in a wagon.  Upon their arrival with the Bucklin family in Crawford County, the entire party were domiciled for three days in an Indian wigwam at the site of the present Crawford County court house, and soon after built the first house erected in Crawford County.

Miss Norton was afterwards married to Harris Garton, who died but a few years ago.  Her son then went to Dakota to live and she came to this city to the home of W.W. Disbro, where she passed away.
