Monday -- James S. Hench, a farm hand in the employ of L.O. Pittinger near Shelby, was killed at 9 p.m. Saturday by a B. & O. freight train. Hench is a single man, about 52 years of age. He was a soldier and hailed from Port Royal, Juniata County, Pa. He was a brother to S.M. Hench, a prominent and well-known attorney of Ft. Wayne, Ind., who came to Shelby and took charge of the body.
