Ralph E. ( Gene ) Geary, 74, of 2610 Stiving Road died Friday March 16, 2001, at       home after a long illness.

 

Born February 14, 1927, he was a lifelong resident. He was retired from Empire Detroit Steel Company. Mr. Geary attended Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church. He was a longtime member of Steelworkers # 169 and the Amvets.  Mr. Geary enjoyed pleasing his family and spending time with family and friends. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

 

Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in law, David ( Rocky ) & Dawn Geary of Mansfield, Richard Geary also of Mansfield; One brother and sister -in- law Robert and Marge Geary Sr. of Greenwich; four sisters, Ginny and Jim McQuellen of Toledo, Katie Nelson of Bellflower, Calif. Martha Schaefer of Bellville, Ohio, Sharon and Pete Wood of Ionia, MI.; two grandchildren, Mathew Richard Geary and Selena Marie Elizabeth Geary of Mansfield; two step grandchildren, Misty & Tommy Simmons, both of Mansfield; Numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth ( Keaton ) Geary; his parents, Thomas & Blanche ( Hoover ) Geary; four brothers, Lawrence, Tommy, Jim & Paul Richard, and a sister Berniece.

 

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappener Funeral Directors today from 4-8 p.m. Friends may also call at Globe Funeral Home in Olive Hill, Ky. on Monday at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Military graveside services will be held at Thompson Cemetary in Olive Hill.
