WAS IT SUICIDE? – Mrs. Georgie Kennedy, wife of William Kennedy, of 89 N. Water street, died early Saturday morning under circumstances which indicate that the death was probably not a natural dissolution.

Friday afternoon Mrs. Kennedy became very ill with intense abdominal pains which increased during the evening and night.  A physician was summoned but she was afforded no relief.  At an early hour Saturday morning another physician was called to attend her, who found upon his arrival that she was dead, although this fact seems to have been unknown to any one in the house and shows that the unfortunate woman died alone in her room.  An examination of the body showed it very much bloated and the abdomen exceedingly tense, the general condition of the remains being such as follows arsenical poisoning.  A reticence relative to the death, and a seeming indifference on the part of the friends as to the holding of an autopsy, resulted in a failure to ascertain definitely the cause of the death, and on Sunday afternoon the remains were interred.

The deceased, whose maiden name was Georgie Bell, was about twenty-three years of age, and previous to her marriage, a little less than six weeks ago, boarded with Mrs. Wilhelm on East Johns street.
