The Memory Walkway will be unveiled and dedicated during the Thursday, Oct. 28, meeting of the Butler-Clear Fork Valley Historical Society.

The walkway from the museum to Elm Street in Butler includes inscribed bricks dedicated to individuals, families, organizations and events in the community. The society will honor those who purchased the bricks as well as others who have made significant donations throughout the year.

Certificates and plaques will be awarded to donors in six categories from Bronze Club ($100-$499) to President’s Club ($50,000 and over).  Financial donations are accumulative.

Also on the agenda are the election of 2011 officers and small-group discussions of suggested museum  changes and additions, program ideas and, lastly, general feedback.  Everyone is welcome, and refreshments will be served. The museum will be open after the program activities.

The 7 p.m. meeting will be held in the lower level of the 43 Elm St. museum in Butler, and entrance is from the rear parking lot off Hitchman Park.

This is the final gathering of the year for the society, and 2011 meetings will begin the last Thursday in March. The office and archives will continue to be open to the public on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and museum tours throughout the year may be arranged by calling 419-989-1679 (Peggy Mershon) or 419-883-2351 (Julia Swank).
