Hamilton Purdy, son of James Purdy, Esq., Mansfield, shot himself last Saturday evening.

Rev. Henry Williard formerly of Shelby, is dead.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gamble are visiting Columbia, Tennessee, with their son Eli W. Gamble.

Mrs. John Dempsey is spending some time in the South this winter.

Mrs. Dr. I.A. Myers has been quite ill for some weeks past.

H.H. Taylor, of the firm of Altman & Taylor, of Mansfield, recently died in Chicago.

Miss Maggie McMurry of Ashland, committed suicide by throwing herself in front of a passing train.

MARRIED, At the M.E. parsonage in Shelby, Ohio, Nov. 25th., 1875, by Rev. W.B. Farrah, Mr. Daniel Bell of Indiana and Miss Diantha Van Wagner of Plymouth Tp., Richland County, Ohio.

LEGAL NOTICE: Melissa Niles, Priscilla Niles and Ellen Niles, children and heirs at law of Hiram Niles, deceased, late of Wauwauka, Noble County, State of Indiana; Nathan Niles of Legonier, State of Indiana; and Jacob Niles of Albion, Noble County, State of Indiana; Sarah Jane Swigert, Loretta Swigert, Jennie Swigert, and Milliard Swigert, minor heirs of Hannah P. Niles; and Jacob Niles the father, and natural guardian of said minors. Also, Mary Niles, widow of Leonard Niles, deceased. George Niles and James Niles, sons of said Leonard Niles, deceased, late of Oxford, New York. Also, Sylvira A. Niles, widow of Hiram Niles, deceased, whose place of residence is unknown -- all of whom are necessary parties, will take notice that Ann Niles, Administratrix of the Estate of Eli W. Niles, deceased, late of Richland County, Ohio, on the 25th. day of August, 1875, filed her petition in the Probate Court in and for the County of Richland, and State of Ohio, alleging that the personal Estate of said decedent is insufficient to pay his debts, and the charges of administering upon his estate; and also waiving her right to have dower assigned to her by metes and bounds, and asking that her equitable dower in money be paid to her, from the sale of the following described real estate of which said decedent died seized of, viz.: The undivided one-half of the east half of the north-west quarter of section twenty-one of township twenty-two in range nineteen in the District of lands sold at Wooster, Ohio, containing eighty acres be the same more or less. Said petition will be for hearing on the 10th. day of January, A.D., 1876, at 11 o'clock a.m. of said day, or as soon thereafter as leave can be obtained. -- ANN NILES, Administratrix of the Estate of E.W.
