We are sorry to lose from the pastoral of the M.E. Church in this place, the Rev. Matlock.  He has been a faithful pastor, laboring earnestly for the good of the church -- ever at the post of duty, an untiring watchman upon the walls of the Zion, and carries with him to his new field of labor -- Cleveland -- the best wishes of not only his former charge, but of the entire community.

The Central Ohio Dental Association met at the Dental rooms of Nevins & Dill in Mansfield, September 24th., and elected the following officers:  President -- Dr. M. DeCamp of Mansfield;  Vice-President & Treasurer -- Dr. L.P. Holbrook of Shelby;  Recording Secretary -- Dr. H.J. Cressinger of Ashland;  Corresponding Secretary -- L.W. Nevius of Mansfield.

Mr. F.A. Ott has returned from his visit to his old home in Germany.  He weighs a good many more pounds than he died before he left.

Watson Strong, son-in-law of Mr. Jacob Foglesong, of Plymouth Twp., died on Wednesday, Sept. 29, aged 27 years.

Joseph Killian, Editor of the Mansfield Courier, died on Friday morning, Oct. 1st., in the 53rd. year of his age.  He was working in his office till after 11 o'clock on Thursday night, went home and died of heart disease before 1 o'clock Friday morning.  He was one of the 1848 Revolutionists in Germany, and afterwards came to this country.  He was finely educated, and a man of remarkable energy and industry in his profession as editor, in which business he spent most of his life.

Mrs. David Cummins has been very ill for some weeks.
