The will of the late Dr. Bushnell was filed for probate in probate court yesterday afternoon.  The testament itself contains little of interest to the public except the fact that the testator's son, Martin B. Bushnell, is made executor and is exonerated from giving bond and is also exonerated from accounting to the court for any of the estate, real or personal, left to him in trust.  The court is even requested not to require the executor to make such an accounting.  There is no public bequests, but $100,000 is bequeathed to Martin B. Bushnell, in moneys, United States bonds or securities.  The balance of the estate is left in trust to the executor, to have absolute charge and control thereof, to dispose of the personalty and invest in realty, or vice versa, at his pleasure, and the will provides for the equal distribution of this portion of the estate among testator's grandchildren, who are the children of the executor.  The will in no wise indicates the total value of the estate or what amount thereof is in personalty or realty or where the realty is situate.  It is conditioned further that if Martin B. Bushnell dies before his trust is finally executed, the same shall be done by his executor under the conditions stipulated in this will.  The witnesses to the will are H.C. Hedges and Judge Jenner.

In common pleas court this afternoon Henrietta Keiser was divorced from Christopher Keiser, on grounds of willful absence.

The Lion Store, at 27 North Main Street, in the Smith block, is a recent addition to the business circles of this city.  It opened its doors March 30, 1893, and in the few months of the existence it has enjoyed a flourishing trade.  It is already established as one of the solid business institutions of Mansfield.  The proprietors of the Lion Store are Ferdinand Fromlet, a retired merchant of Cincinnati, and R.R. Ward, who came here from Lancaster, O., to personally manage the store.  "We are enjoying a patronage that warrants me in saying we are here to stay, and we have already leased more rooms for a term of years" said Mr. Ward to a NEWS reporter who called upon him for the purpose of this interview.  "Although we have been here but a short time comparatively, yet by honest and square dealing we have built up a substantial trade."  And this was not a boastful utterance.  The store is always crowded with customers.  Mr. Ward and his corps of experienced clerks are always busy, and the patronage of the Lion Store might well be envied by many older houses.

In memoriam.  Mary Wellington Grimes was born in West Cambridge, Mass., June 8, 1819.  She came to Mansfield in 1841, and during the two succeeding years devoted a portion of her time, as instructor, to school interests.  On Sept. 21, 1843, she wsa united in marriage to Andrew L. Grimes, whom she survived thirteen years.  During May of the following year (1844) she became a member of the First Congregational church, with which her husband was already officially connected.  At 11 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, after a period of suffering, she passed quietly, peacefully, to the Home beyond.  Of the three sons and three daughters, four remain, two sons, Charles and Frederick;  two daughters, Mary and Helen.  Four grandsons and two granddaughters bear the family name.  The many who have had opportunity to know Mrs. Grimes, in all the bearings of her life, can well understand how meaningless and unnecessary are words to make the character of such a woman known and appreciated in the community.  In domestic relations there was forcibly exemplified the solidarity of matters pertaining to the best interests of home, society and the church.  In obligations where her own peculiar individuality must become the exponent of moral and spiritual power, she stood, unflinchingly, for all that was good, true and noble.  The maturity and righteousness of her judgment made her always a safe counselor, and eminently fitted her for the position she so long filled in the church, whose privileges were, to her, the expression of Christian life.  During the last days, when bodily suffering seemed all that could be borne, the unfailing testimony of this consecrated mother was:  "Jesus is just what I need, and all I need."  We may well pause silently, thoughtfully, when such an influence is no longer a part of us.  -- F.W.L., Mansfield, O., Jan. 20, 1894.

In probate court this morning, Mrs. Mary Schlup was declared insane and she will be sent to the Toledo Asylum.

SHELBY, Jan. 26 -- (Special) -- Sheriff C.C. Ensign, of Lorain County, came here armed with a warrant for the arrest of Miss Zella Vanasdoll, on the charge of incest with her brother, Frank, the charge being preferred by the latter's wife.  Miss Vanasdoll came to her parents' home here a few weeks ago in an interesting condition, since which time various rumors have been afloat as to the paternity of her unborn child, some asserting the blame to her brother.  While this was supposed to be mere gossip, the family claimed a young man of Oberlin was the cause of her trouble, giving various reasons for her not being married, among which that she did not like the man and would not have him, and later that the man had left and they were after him, etc., and people were loath to believe the parties would be guilty of so unnatural a crime.  Frank's wife claims to have evidence sufficient to convict and swore out warrants for the arrest of both.  The sheriff arrested Frank in Ashland County yesterday and now has him in jail at Elyria, O.  The officer informed your correspondent that Frank had at one time acknowledged the crime, but that he is likely to try to make the defense of innocence.  Frank is the father of five children and Zetta lived with Frank's family at Oberlin until a few months ago, when her condition was discovered and Frank's wife left him on account of this trouble.  The officer was compelled to return without the girl, as her health is such that she could not safely make the journey at present.

Edwin Craig Taylor died at the residence of his parents, Capt. and Mrs. W.H. Taylor, No. 68 West Fourth Street, at 6 o'clock Sunday evening.  People who knew Edwin Taylor are hardly able to realize that he has been taken, for until a few days ago he was one f the most robust young college men of the city.  He came home from Media college to spend the holidays with his parents and was apparently in the best of health until about Jan. 3, near the time for his return to Pennsylvania, when he began to complain of feeling ill.  Dr. Loughridge was called and gave him treatment, though the young man continued to go about among his friends and did not take to his bed until one week ago.  Even then his sickness was not considered serious, but bowel trouble developed speedily and resulted fatally.  The deceased would have been 20 years of age had he survived until the 18th. of February.  He was a most exemplary young man and a pleasant companion among his associates as testified by the fact that he was elected second lieutenant of company M, O.N.G., upon its organization, which commission he held until he resigned to enter college.  Edwin Taylor was the fourth son in a family of five sons and two daughters.  Mr. & Mrs. Taylor are nearly prostrated with grief over their sudden loss of a son from a pleasant family circle, and have the sympathy of their many friends.  When it became known that the young man could not recover messages were sent to Rolla and Howard Taylor of Adrian, Mich., and Mrs. Frank Taylor, who was a guest at their homes, as well as to Allen Taylor, who is attending college at Boston, Mass.  The members of the family from Michigan arrived at the beside an hour too late to witness the sad dissolution.  Allen Taylor, the youngest son, arrived today.  Funeral services (private) at the family residence at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30.  The interment will be made at Sidney, whither the body will be taken at 12:25 p.m. tomorrow.

A.H. Damback, an heir of William Damback, deceased, has begun an action in common pleas court to enjoin Roeliff Brinkerhoff Jr. from paying over to Gottfried Opett $227.26 which plaintiff claims was paid to Brinkerhoff as Opett's attorney, under a misapprehension of the facts.  Plaintiff claims that Opett turned over to Brinkerhoff a note for $100 dated Feb. 26, 1878, which should bear the date of Feb. 26, 1877, and that the date was wrongfully changed to take it out of the limitation of the statutes and make the estate of William Damback liable.  Plaintiff also asks judgment for this amount paid over $227.25.
