AN HEIR TO MILLIONS

JOHN BAER, OF THIS CITY, ONE OF THE HEIRS OF A $7,000,000 ESTATE

Usually the public receive the news of local heirs to vast estates with considerable incredulity, because they so frequently prove to be only snares and delusions to wring money from susceptible people.  The public however, will be interested in the following case of local importance, which is authentic.  The interested party in this case saw the article mentioning the prospective settlement of the estate in the SHIELD's telegraph columns of last Saturday.

The party interested in this vast fortune is John Baer, of 76 Park Avenue East.  He has, for the past five or six years, been aware that he is one of the heirs of the Burkhard Moser estate, in Tomaqua County and around Pottsville, Pa.  The estate comprises about 9,000 acres of land that Moser came into possession of near the year 1779 and which somehow was temporarily relinquished in 1800.  The property, which is very rich in coal, is now valued at about $7,000,000 and those who have been carefully investigating the matter for the past few years state that a settlement will soon be made.

Mr. Baer's grandfather, Jacob Ohl, was one of the direct descendants of Moser and four of his children are still living, viz.:  Mrs. Sarah Zehner, near Ashland;  Mrs. Eva Charles, north of this city;  Mrs. Abbie Stone, southeast of Ashland, and Edward Ohl, who lives somewhere in Indiana.

Mr. Baer also has a sister, Mrs. Suvilla Shultz, who lives near this city.  This completes the list of the descendants so far as Mr. Baer knows.  They will come in for his grandfather's share when the division is made.  The services of attorneys have been secured for some time and they have been instructed to push the matter to an early settlement.

The heirs living in this part of the country are well-known and their many friends will congratulate them upon their good fortune when they receive the "nest egg" which beyond a doubt belongs to them.
