Monday. About 10:30 last night John Dippo, residing on South Adams Street, found a basket on his front door step, containing a very young and pretty baby. The child was neatly dressed and appeared to have been well taken care of. It was a boy, and bright and healthy looking. Capt. Thornton was sent for and at his request the Dippos agreed to keep the child today, but as no ownership developed it was taken to the Children's Home this afternoon.
