14 January 1896, Vol. LXXVIII, No. 34

Charles E. Leaman and Clarice E. Meek of Shenandoah were married by the Rev. Duston Kemble at the Methodist parsonage in this city today. 

J.C. Perry of Shelby and Miss Verda Shafer will be married tomorrow evening at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. J.F. Shafer, three miles west of Bellville.  Miss Shafer is a sister of Prof. D.F. Shafer of this city.

George Hunter and Miss Packard of Warren will be married in that city tomorrow.  Mr. Hunter is the popular day clerk at the Tremont House and is well known here.  He left for Warren at 2:09 this afternoon.  He will return in about a week, bringing his bride with him.

Thursday -- 'Squire Smith married Cornelius Agan and Sadie Wolf yesterday.

BELLVILLE -- Charles Grogg and Miss Verda Shafer (both prominent young people of this place) were united in marriage at 9 o'clock a.m., Jan. 1, at the home of the bride on North Bell Street.  The wedding was strictly private, by the desire of both parties.  Rev. J.N. Barnett of the Lutheran Church officiated.

BELLVILLE -- At 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Jerry Garber of Plymouth, formerly of this place, and Miss Nellie Zent were united in marriage at the home of the bride on North Main Street.  About 50 guests were invited.  Arthur Madden of Columbus, and Miss Minnie Defrese were the attendants.  Mrs. Linnie Blair played the wedding march.  Rev. W.H. Hyde officiated.  The bride and groom will make their home in Plymouth and left here on the late train in the evening.

BELLVILLE -- Jerry C. Perry and Miss Verda Shafer, a sister of Prof. D.F. Shafer of Mansfield, were married Wednesday evening at the home of the bride a few miles from town.  Miss Ida Sell played the wedding march.  Rev. ----nett officiated.

Friday -- Henry L. Berry of Salem and Miss Eudora Pritchard of Butler were married at the residence of the bride's parents at that place Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.  Rev. W.W. Anderson of Loudonville performed the ceremony in the presence of about 60 guests.

Friday -- Charles B. Crooks of Shelby and Miss Alice I. Scott of Ontario were united in marriage on Christmas Day at 1 o'clock at the United Presbyterian parsonage by the Rev. F.B. Foster.  Mr. & Mrs. Crooks will make their home in Shelby, where Mr. Crooks is employed in the tube works.

Friday -- A very pleasant wedding took place on Christmas Day at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Peter Friedgen, five miles south of this place.  Miss Rosa, the daughter, a popular young lady, was wedded to Lide B. McLaughlin, one of the substantial young men of the community.  The ceremony was performed at 3:30 by the Rev. F.B. Foster of the United Presbyterian Church of Mansfield in the presence of the immediate relatives and a few invited guests.  After the ceremony the company sat down to a sumptuous Christmas wedding dinner.  Mr. & Mrs. McLaughlin will go to housekeeping on the farm which for nine years has been the home of the bride.

Saturday -- Married Christmas Day at the residence of the bride's brother, Robert Latimer, 816 Maple Street, Chicago, Ireneaus M. King of Bowman Street and Miss Carrie Latimer of Bloom Street.  They will reside at 403 Bowman Street.

Jan. 7, at the parsonage by Rev. Dr. Wiles, Harvey E. Cotner and Dora C. Cassel, both of Crestline.

Tuesday -- Charles New of Wabash, Ind., and Miss Alma L. Levy, of Louisville, Ky., will be married tomorrow at noon.  The groom is a brother of Joseph and Theodore New of this city.  Theodore New and wife are in attendance at the nuptials.

Thursday -- Phillip H. Rettig and Miss Myrtle M. Jones of Galion were married at that place last night and are the guests of friends here today.  Both young people are well and favorably known here.

RIBLET -- Harry E. Cotner was married to Miss Dora Cassel, Jan. 7, at Mansfield by the Rev. Dr. Wiles.

FAIRVIEW -- The wedding bells merrily chimed forth at the comfortable home of Mr. & Mrs. Cyrus Day last Wednesday evening.  It was the occasion of the marriage of their daughter, Martha, to Will Mull, both of the vicinity of Lexington.  The ceremony was performed by Rev. Beneau of Lexington.  After the words were said, which made them husband and wife, the guests to the number of about 45 sat down to a feast.  The bride was the recipient of many handsome and valuable presents. 

Tuesday -- Clarence Stevens, a well known young man of this city, and Miss Berth Creigh will be married at 8:30 tomorrow night at the home of the bride's uncle, H.E. Williams.  Dr. D.J. Meese will perform the ceremony.

Wednesday -- Joseph Carter and Miss Laura Lape were united in marriage by 'Squire Smith, Jan. 13.

Thursday -- Marion A. Fleming of this city and Mary E. Berry of Monroe Township, were married yesterday at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Berry.  Dr. H.L. Wiles performed the ceremony, after which the guests sat down to a sumptuous dinner.  Mr. & Mrs. Flemming will reside in this city, and will begin housekeeping next week on West Fourth Street.

Jackson Twp. -- John Kline, a popular young man of this township, was united in marriage to Miss Anna Pifer last Tuesday.

Wednesday -- J.C. Brooks and Miss Catherine E. Lare were united in marriage Jan. 22 at Lexington, by the Rev. Collier.

SHELBY -- Cards are out announcing the marriage of Miss Kate Randall, daughter of J.G. Randall, to Fred Swearinger of Cleveland.

BELLVILLE -- There were two marriages here last week.  The parties were Lorenzo Merle and Emma Johns, Philip Young and Lillian Miller.

LEXINGTON -- Married, Wednesday evening, Jan. 22, at the Congregational parsonage by Dr. J.W. Collier, J.C. Brooks and Miss Lare.

LEXINGTON -- Carrie Smith and Miss Rhodie McKinley were married at the home of the bride south of town Wednesday evening, Jan. 29, by the Rev. Mr. Benough.

Tuesday -- Jacob H. Zellers of Attica and Miss Emma C. Holtz of Ganges were married Jan. 30 by Rev. N.H. Loose at his parsonage in Shelby.

A message was received in this city Monday, announcing the marriage of Miss May Baughman and Frank Brown at Mt. Gilead [Morrow Co.].  It was quite a surprise to the bride's many friends, who unite in extending sincere congratulations.  Miss Baughman is the eldest daughter of Dr. G.W. Baughman, coroner of Richland County, who resides on Park Avenue East.  Frank Brown, the groom, is a prominent young business man of Mt. Gilead and is well and favorably known here.  The happy couple will reside at Mt. Gilead.

Tuesday -- O.W. Taylor and Miss J.W. Davis were united in marriage at the Mayflower parsonage Feb. 9 by Rev. R.H. Edmonds.  Charles Bartlow and Miss Anna B. Heiser were married by Rev. Edmonds on Feb. 4.

Tuesday -- Miss Alice Sens of Los Angeles, Cal., was recently married to a prominent business man of that city.  Miss Sens is the daughter of Bernard Sens, who was formerly engaged in business here and who removed to California some years ago.

RIBLET -- Married, Wednesday evening, Feb. 5, John Ganeric and Miss Etta Badgley.

Friday -- Augustus Stoner and Miss Anna Throne were married Thursday evening, Feb. 13, by Rev. George A. Lee, at his residence on Park Avenue East.

PLYMOUTH -- Leonard Lyon and Turah Bingham were married last Sunday morning by Rev. A.C. Miller.

MT. ZION -- William Strine and Miss Hattie Vail of Widowville, were married at the Lutheran parsonage by Rev. S.P. Kiefer, Thursday, Feb. 6.

BUTLER -- Married in Mansfield, Tuesday, Feb. 25, John Cromer and Emma Baker, of Butler.

FAIRVIEW -- "Did you hear dem bells a ringing" -- the wedding bells which sounded forth from the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Hampton Logan last Wednesday evening.  It was the occasion of the marriage of their daughter, Addie, to J.H. Wiles, both of Troy Twp.  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. H.L. Wiles of Mansfield, uncle of the bridegroom, in the presence of about 40 invited guests.

OLIVESBURG -- Allen France (formerly of Adario) and Nana Russell (of Olivesburg) were married at the M.E. parsonage Tuesday evening.  The boys treated them to an old time belling.

Friday -- George Cramer and Miss Emma Baker, both of Butler, were united in marriage Tuesday afternoon at the home of Miss Sarah Mowry on West First Street, Rev. George H. Reen of St. Luke's Lutheran church officiating.

Watson McCoy, the well-known contractor and Miss Maggie Huffman were married last night.

Sunday afternoon, Mar. 1, Ira M. Walters and Miss Emma C. Lorow of Lucas were married by Rev. George A. Lee at the residence of Dillon Kiner, east of the city.

Thursday -- George B. Sheehy and Miss Minnie L. Lenhart, both of near Plymouth, were united in marriage by Rev. George H. Reen yesterday afternoon at the study of St. Luke's Lutheran church.

LUCAS -- A quiet little wedding took place at the home of Mrs. Catharine Loro, Sunday, the contracting parties being her youngest daughter, Emma C. and Ira Walters, son of Hiram Walters of Mifflin Township.  Rev. Dolbeer officiated.

BUTLER -- William G. Fike and Meda Y. Simmons were married last Sunday at the Evangelical church by Rev. Fitterer.  Happy may their journey be through life.

ADARIO -- Two of Butler Township's young people, Neal Owens and Miss Nora Seaton, were united in wedlock last Wednesday at the home of the bride.  Many good wishes go with them.

RIBLET -- Married, Feb. 26, Arthur Kuhn and Miss Kolb.

Cards are out announcing the marriage of Andrus B. Lean and Miss Amanda Finley, which will take place Wednesday, Mar. 25, at 6 o'clock p.m.  The ceremony will be private and will be solemnized at the residence of Dr. Mary J. Finley, 48 Park Avenue West.  AFter the ceremony, a wedding reception will be held at Masonic Temple from 8 until 11 o'clock p.m.

Monday -- Claude M. Hunter and Miss Lois Anderson were united in marriage Mar. 7, at the home of the bride's mother in Shenandoah by Rev. G.M. Kemp.

ROME -- Claud Hunter and Miss Lois Anderson of Shenandoah were married at the home of the bride's mother Saturday evening.

Sunday -- Rev. Schwiesberger performed the marriage ceremony at the wedding of John H. Bringman and Miss Jane Craven of Shaucks, Sunday, Mar. 8.

Monday -- Edgar T. Schaffer of Tiffin and Miss Sophia Berger of this city were united in marriage by Rev. J.E. Lynn, at his residence, Mar. 15.

Tuesday -- Wilson Amsbaugh and Miss Lody L. Smith were married at the residence of the bride's parents, 115 North Adams Street, Mar. 22.

Wednesday -- Dr. Wiles married J.F. Houser and Etta Clem, both of Wooster, at his residence Tuesday night.

Wednesday -- 'Squire Smith married Monte J. Travis of Canton and Miss Lizzie E. Jennings of this city, Tuesday, at 9:30.

Wednesday -- John W. Dawson and Sarah Smith of Shelby were married at the home of the bride at 4 p.m. today by Rev. Wilhelm.  The groom is 71 years of age.

Thursday - Frederick J. Mahler and Alice Fox were united in marriage at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening by Dr. H.L. Wiles.

TILL DEATH UNITED -- The marriage of Andrus Burt Lean and Miss Amanda Erwin Finley was solemnized at 6 p.m. Wednesday.  The ceremony was performed by Dr. D.J. Meese, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Frank McFarlan, pastor of the First Baptist Church.  The wedding took place in the parlor of Dr. Mary J. Finley's home on Park Avenue West.  The bride was attired in cream brocaded satin, with pearl trimmings.  In her hair were orange blossoms, the gift of Dr. A.J. Erwin of California, who sent a box of those lovely flowers.  The only jewelry worn by the bride was a pendant, consisting of a crown and diamond, which was the gift of the groom;  and a handsome pearl pin, presented the bride by Mrs. H.M. Weaver.  [This article goes on in some detail about the persons present, and the activities of the day.  A guest list is also published there.]

Chester A. Myers and Miss Lina G. Adrain were united in marriage at -- p.m. Tuesday by Dr. George H. Reen of St. Luke's Lutheran church, at his home on West Second Street.  The groom is the day operator at the B. & O. depot, and is well known.  The bride is a charming young lady, and hosts of friends extend congratulations to the happy couple.

HASTINGS -- Samuel Ritter of Lexington and Miss Minnie Norris of this place, were married at the home of the bride's parents Thursday evening, Mar. 19, and will make their home in Lexington, where Mr. Ritter is engaged in the hardware business.

WOODVILLE, Mar. 30 -- Married, Thursday evening, Mar. 26, Mrs. Emma McClain and Joseph Perse, by Dr. H.L. Wiles, at the Lutheran parsonage.

Friday -- John Earhart and Mariah Miller were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Thursday by 'Squire Smith.

Sunday -- Nathan H. Lee and Miss Sarah Ordway were united in marriage by W.J. Hyde at Bellville, Apr. 2.

Sunday -- William Pfeifer and Mary S. Dinges were united in marriage, Mar. 26, by Rev. N. Lehman of Washington Twp.

Wednesday -- Orin Sherman of Johnsville, N.Y., and Miss Lizzie E. Lorow of this city, were married by Dr. H.L. Wiles at the parsonage Tuesday night.

FRANKLIN TWP. -- At the home of the bride's parents, 6 miles north of Mansfield, Miss Amanda Urick was married to William Temple of Marion, Apr. 1, 1896, in the presence of a company of friends and relatives.  The marriage vows were solemnly sealed by Rev. George L. Hoover pastor of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.  After the repast and a few hours of social chat the couple went to Marion, where they will begin housekeeping and where the groom is in business.

BELLVILLE, Apr. 3 -- Mrs. Sadie Ordway and Mr. Lee, who were married here Thursday night, left for Romeo, Mich., Saturday, on the 3:30 p.m. train.  Mrs. Lee as a member of the Methodist choir and has a great many friends here who wish them a happy life in their new home.

Wednesday -- William H. McElhaney and Lettie M. Haverfield were married Apr. 9, by Rev. Duston Kemble.

Wednesday -- H.E. Tinkey and Martha E. Ritter were married at the Methodist parsonage this morning by Rev. Duston Kemble.

Thursday -- Wilbert Dillon and Miss Laura M. Magill were married Wednesday at the home of the bride's parents by Rev. R.H. Edmonds.

Thursday -- J. Reed Banks and Miss Cora Logan were married at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. & Mrs. George Logan, south of this city, by Rev. J.E. Lynn.  Thirty guests witnessed the ceremony.

LEXINGTON -- Fred Beverstock Jr. and Miss Allie Faust were married Sunday afternoon at Mansfield.  The bride and groom left Sunday evening for a visit with friends in Indiana.

Wednesday -- Grace Copeland and George Pittman were united in marriage Tuesday night by 'Squire Smith.

Wednesday -- Joseph R. Worth and Miss Ida Ertley, both of this city, were united in marriage by Dr. H.L. Wiles at the parsonage Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday -- William Hankemeir of Indianapolis, Ind., and Miss Lena Reining, of this city, were united in marriage at Indianapolis Saturday by Rev. D.L. McKenzie.

Thursday -- W.S. Guthrie and Miss Allie Snodgrass, both of Mansfield, were married at Galion last night.

WOODVILLE -- A pleasant quiet wedding occurred last Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. & Mrs. George Logan.  The contracting parties were Miss Cora Logan and John Reed Banks, Rev. J.E. Lynn officiating.  About 35 guests were present.

ADARIO -- Wallace Enzor and Miss Ella Crawford were united in marriage last Thursday and were here over Sunday receiving the congratulations of friends.

Thursday -- Henry E. Snyder and Miss Laura Kinsey, both of this city, were married Wednesday by Rev. F.P. Sanders.

Thursday -- Lewis Schisler and Miss Theresa Kennedy were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Wednesday by Rev. Kemble.  Schisler was a minute man at the fire department and the boys there and the police unite in extending congratulations.  Mr. and Mrs. Schisler left to spend a week with the bride's parents near Spring Mills.

Friday - Charles Gorham and Miss Nona Myers were married Thursday evening by the Rev. Dr. H.L. Wiles at the residence of George Mull on Miller Street in the presence of a few invited guests.  Mr. and Mrs. Gorham went to Cleveland today for a wedding trip.

Monday -- Julius Roemer and Francis Bursch of this city were united in marriage by Squire Richardson Saturday.

Mifflin Twp. -- Married, last Sunday evening, at the Lutheran parsonage, by Rev. S.P. Kiefer, John Landis and Miss Sadie Burns.

Thursday -- Rev. Dr. H.L. Wiles married Ira F. Haseler of Plymouth and Emma A. Benchof of Tiffin, today.

23 May 1896, Vol. LXXIX, No. 2

Henry S. Stickrod and Miss Pauline J. Berndt were united in marriage Thursday, May 14, at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Anna Berndt, 116 West Second Street.  The marriage ceremonies were conducted by the Rev. Dr. D.J. Meese and only a few of the immediate relatives of the contracting parties were present.  The groom is a molder at the Mansfield Machine Works and is a well-known and popular young man.  The bride is one of Mansfield's most respected young ladies and was until recently a saleslady with T.J. Stocks.

Friday -- The engagement of Thomas G. Pierson and Miss Eleanor Crawford has been announced.

Sunday -- Park W. Osbun and Miss Myrtle C. Kohler were married at Pavonia, Wednesday.

Sunday -- Rev. Felton of Greenwich united in marriage Raymond V. Sutliff and Mary A. Culler, May 16.

Sunday -- William S. Hopkins and Miss Kate Stoler were united in marriage by Rev. F.A. Felton at Greenwich, May 14.

Sunday -- Robert F. Lenington and Miss Adeliah G. Houston were united in marriage, May 13, by Rev. J.T. Houston of Olivesburgh.

Tuesday -- Charles C. Joslyn and Elizabeth E. Ridgely of Lexington were married Monday evening at the residence of Charles Lantz, on Augustine Avenue, by Rev. Duston Kemble.

Thursday -- Arthur A. Hershiser and Miss Lillie M. Roth were married at Shelby Wednesday.

Thursday -- Clifford McElhany and Miss Maude Kochenderfer were united in marriage at Shelby May 21 by Rev. E.M. Counsellor.

06 June 1896, Vol. LXXIX, No. 4

It has recently come to light that Joseph Hale, bookkeeper for Voegele Bros., and Miss Emma Bieber, a teacher in the public schools of this city, were quietly married during the early part of February at Covington, Ky.  Both parties are well known here and although congratulations of their friends are rather out of date yet they should be appreciated.  Mr. & Mrs. Hale will reside in this city.

Wednesday morning at 9 o'lcok, in the Catholic Church, the marriage of Miss Josephine Ott and Charles Herman was solemnized by Father Maganhann, in the presence of the immediate relatives and friends of the contracting parties.  The bride is the accomplished daughter of Peter Ott and the groom is a well known traveling salesman and resides at Norwalk.  Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party was driven to the home of the bride's parents on North Diamond Street, where a sumptuous wedding dinner was served.  Mr. & Mrs. Herman will reside at Norwalk.  

Monday -- John W. Oyster and Emma C. Nebel were united in marriage May 28, by 'Squire F.M. Hess at Bellville.

13 June 1896, Vol. LXXIX, No. 5

Monday --- Charles E. Wolf of Columbus and Miss Jennie Roberts of Shelby will be married at the latter place tomorrow morning and a reception will be given in their honor tomorrow evening.

Wednesday -- Thomas J. Burghard and Miss Grace Keller were united in marriage at 8 p.m. yesterday by Rev. George H. Reen, at the bride's home on Wayne Street.  The couple left for Chicago soon after the ceremony.

Wednesday -- Bert Scott will be united in marriage to Miss Jennie Downs of Ashland this evening.  The ceremony will take place at the residence of Charles Shopbell in Ashland.  The ceremony will be performed by Rev. A.H. Smith.  Mr. & Mrs. Scott will make their home in this city and will reside on West Second St.

Wednesday -- Perry E. Smith and Eva Dougherty of this city were married this afternoon by Rev. Dr. H.L. Wiles at the parsonage.  Calvin Rodocker of Lexington and Hattie McGinty of this city were married by Dr. Wiles, Tuesday evening, and Jermin Harbaugh and Elizabeth Shafer of this city were married by Dr. Wiles, June 6.

Thursday -- Dr. H.L. Wiles of this city solemnized the marriage of Ezekial Moores of Buffalo, N.Y., and Miss Amelia Williams of Crestline at the latter place last night.  Dr. Wiles officiated at the marriage of the bride's parents 30 years ago.

MT. ZION -- Vernon A. Bower of Galion and Miss Jennie Boaden were married Wednesday evening, June 10, at the home of the bride's mother near Mifflin, Rev. S.P. Kiefer officiating.

ADARIO -- Unintentionally, we failed to report the marriage of one of our young ladies, Miss Ella Graham, to William Shriver, who lives just across the line in Ashland County, where they have domiciled themselves.

20 June 1896, Vol. LXXIX, No. 6

William J. Feuhrer of Detroit, Mich., and Miss Otilia Walters were married at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday by Rev. Andrew Magenhann at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The groom is a young business man of Detroit and the bride is the daughter of Fred Walter, the well known local business man.  The groom's attendants were Charles Walter, brother of the bride, and John Herbst of Detroit.  The bride's attendants were Misses Carrie Walter and Alice Feuhrer.

Saturday -- Miss Iva Taylor of Galion, daughter of Passenger Conductor John Taylor, of the Big Four, was united in marriage last night to Rev. O.D. Baltzly of Springfield.

Sunday -- Jacob E. Shaw and Jennie M. Laird were married, June 4, by Rev. Place at Shelby.

Sunday -- Rev. M.L. Wilhelm of Shelby married W.E. Taylor and Miss Ollie Orwiler, June 11.

Tuesday -- Daniel Adams, an employee of the A-T. Co., and Miss Bessie Gutzwiler, daughter of Henry Gutzwiler, will be married at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 23.

Rev. W.C.H. Harris, formerly of this city, now of Rows, and Miss Mary E. Hetler of Epworth, were married at the home of the bride's parents at 8 p.m., Thursday, June 11 by Dr. H.L. Wiles.  About 50 guests were present, among them being several from this city.

Roelif Brinkerhoff, Jr., and Miss Jennie Oliver, daughter of Capt. John Oliver, of Steubenville, were wedded Wednesday, June 24, at the home of the bride.  Mr. Brinkerhoff is the son of Gen. and Mrs. Brinkerhoff and is the nominee of the Democratic party for Probate Judge of Richland County.  The bride is one of the accomplished young women of Steubenville, and is well-known in this city, having often been a guest of her grandmother, the late Mrs. Elizabeth Hooker.  It was during one of her visits here some years ago that the acquaintance began which blended the lives of both at Hymen's Altar Wednesday.  After a bridal tour, Mr. & Mrs. Brinkerhoff will come to Mansfield to permanently reside.  

Friday -- Julius Weber of Urbana, son of Henry Weber, the well-known brewer of this city, was married yesterday to Miss Mary Fennessey of Urbana.

Friday -- Thomas E. Bunn and Miss Jeannette B. Ross were united in marriage at 5 p.m. yesterday by Dr. H.L. Wiles at the home of Sheriff Boals.  They will reside at Mt. Vernon.

Friday -- Edmund Myers and Miss Gertie Traxler were united in marriage at 8 p.m. yesterday by Dr. H.L. Wiles at the home of the bride on South Main Street in the presence of about 40 guests.

Saturday -- Louis W. Dewitt and Miss Alline E. Bolley of this city were united in marriage at the home of the bride's mother on North Mulberry Street at 8 p.m. Thursday by Dr. H.L. Wiles.

Thursday --Dr. John H. Nicols, who has entered upon the practice of medicine in this city, was united in marriage at Mt. Vernon recently to Miss Bertha Troit, of that city.

William G. Kegg and Miss Mae A. Blanchard were united in marriage Thursday evening, June 18, by the Rev. D.J. Meese at the pastor's study.  The groom is a well-known young man and has a position with the Farmers National Bank.  The bride is a popular young lady of this city and is the daughter of A.A. Blanchard, superintendent of the Eclipse stove works.

Two well-known Mansfield young people were united in marriage at the parsonage of the First Lutheran Church, Wednesday evening, by Rev. Dr. H.L. Wiles.  The contracting parties were Albert E. Hancock and Miss Emma B. Eyerly.  The bride-groom is a well-known young man and is a son of R.G. Hancock, the contractor.  The bride is an accomplished young lady and is the daughter of Samuel Eyerly.

Wednesday -- Dr. Hyde of Shelby and Miss Dora Grosvenor of this city will be united in marriage at the bride's residence, 227 Park Avenue East, this evening.

A very pleasant home wedding occurred at the home of William Grosvenor, 227 Park Avenue East, Wednesday.  The occasion was the marriage of Miss Dora Grosvenor to Dr. A.F. Hyde of Shelby.  The ceremony was performed in the presence of only the immediate relatives of the bride by Dr. Kemble of the Methodist church.  After the ceremony the happy couple left for their future home at Shelby.  Some very fine presents were received.  Dr. A.F. Hyde, the groom, is a well known physician of Shelby, and ranks high in the fraternity as well as in the society of that thriving town.  The bride is the accomplished daughter of William Grosvenor and wife of Park Avenue East and had been a teacher in the public schools of this city for several years.  She will be given a warm welcome by her husband's friends at Shelby.

Deputy Auditor M.E. Hagerty and Miss Ida M. Wagner were quietly married at 8 o'clock, Wednesday night by 'Squire Smith and left at 9:10 for Cincinnati for a short wedding trip.  The groom is well known and the bride resides on East Fourth Street with her widowed sister, Mrs. Agnes Brissel.  They will reside in this city.

L.B. Stull and Miss Emma E. Connelly were married Wednesday at the residence of William Connelly on Bowman Street by Dr. Kemble.  The groom is employed at the Mansfield Machine Works and his home is at Perrysville.  The bride is a pleasant young lady whose many friends extend congratulations.

Cupid is really a sly little fellow.  He proved to be so when Attorney Frank P. Kibler and Miss S. Edith Zerbe were concerned.  The couple were married at Mansfield several months ago, but the news of this was not made public in Canton until Saturday.  Meanwhile Cupid laughed in silence and the newly married couple were happy.  Mr. & Mrs. Kibler will leave Sunday morning for a trip to Chicago after which they will be at home to friends at No. 44 Lincoln Avenue where a house has been fitted up in cozy style.  Mrs. Kibler is well and favorably known to many of the young people of Canton, and Mr. Kibler is a rising member of the Stark County bar, a young man of sterling worth.  -- as re-printed from the CANTON RESPOSITORY.

Fred J. Krazeise and Mamie R. Glessner were married at 12 o'clock Tuesday, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Y. Glessner, 159 Vennum Avenue, this city.  The ceremony was performed by James R. Richardson, grandfather of the bride, and was a private affair, being attended by the immediate relatives of the family only.  The bride is the granddaughter of the late John Y. Glessner, Sr. and is a charming young lady.  The groom has been a resident of this city for two or three years, and is held in high esteem by his acquaintances.  Mr. & Mrs. Krazeise left for a few days visit to Buffalo, N.Y., and other eastern cities, and after a short stop in Mansfield on their return, will depart for Louisville, Ky., at which place Mr. Krazeise has recently engaged in business.

The home of Mr. & Mrs. Albert Gongwer, of Mifflin Twp., was the center of attraction Wednesday night.  A large company of relatives and friends had been invited to witness the marriage of their beautiful and accomplished daughter, Alice B., to Arthur J. Hursh, of Cleveland.  Among the guests present Sheriff Boals and wife, of this city.  Mr. Hursh is a son of Henry Hursh, one of the prosperous farmers east of the city.  Mr. Hursh will open a drug store in this city about October 1.  The ceremony was performed by Rev. Frank P. Sanders, Ph.D., of this city.

Friday -- Lewis Morrow and Miss Hattie Myers were united in marriage Wednesday evening at the home of the bride's parents by Rev. R.H. Edmonds.  Only a few immediate friends of the contracting parties were present and witnessed the ceremony.  An excellent wedding feast was served.

A pleasant event occurred at the home of P.P. Ford, 91 Wood Street, Wednesday night.  The occasion was the marriage of Miss Verda Ford to George Albrecht, of Richmond, Ind.  The ceremony was performed at 6:30, in the presence of a number of guests, by Dr. Duston Kemble of the M.E. church.   The bridegroom is a traveling salesman for a Richmond, Ind. house, and the bride is the beautiful and accomplished daughter of Mr. & Mrs. P.P. Ford.  They will return to this city in two weeks for a brief sojourn and will then take up their residence at Lima, their future home.

Fairview -- Samuel Logan concluded to forsake the paths of single blessedness and accordingly Wednesday, Oct. 14, took unto himself a life partner in the person of Miss Nellie George, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. William George of Lexington.  The marriage ceremony was performed by the Congregational minister of Lexington in the presence of the immediate relatives of the bride and groom.  After a short wedding tour, Mr. & Mrs. Logan will be at home to their many friends in Lexington where they expect to make their future home.

Gould, of the Methodist church.  About 25 guests were present.  Jay Boughton, brother of the bridegroom, sister of the bridegroom, was bride's maid.  Immediately after the ceremony an elaborate wedding supper was served.  The happy couple were the recipients of a number of beautiful presents.  The bride is an accomplished young lady and the bridegroom is a well known young man and is connected with the Albert F. Remy Co.  Mr. & Mrs. Boughton will reside on West Fourth Street.  Among the guests present from out of town were Mrs. Clark and Miss Green, of Delaware.

At the residence of Adam Bickel on Washington Avenue, Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 4 p.m., Dr. H.L. Wiles married John G. Fring, of Crestline, and Laura Wingert, of this city.

Crawford on Sturges Avenue was the scene of a very pleasant social event Wednesday evening.  The occasion was the wedding of Miss Edith May Crawford, the eldest daughter, and Charles Kelley King, a well-known young society man.  [A more thorough article regarding this marriage can be found by referring to the source listed at the top of this section.]

ADARIO -- Clyde Clayburg and Miss Maggie Stevenson were united in marriage Dec. 16, at Ashland, by Rev. Sprinkle.  

FRANKLIN TWP. -- Married, at the Lutheran parsonage in Mansfield by Dr. Wiles, Wednesday, Dec. 16, Robert A. Fulwider and Miss Cora E. Dishong of Frankling Twp.

FRANKLIN TWP. -- Married, at the home of the bride's parents in Franklin Twp., Wednesday, Dec. 23, Leroy Sites of near Shelby, and Miss Alice Boyce, daughter of Washington and Sarah Boyce.

FRANKLIN TWP. -- Married, Thursday, Dec. 17, Emery McMeeken, of Franklin Twp., to Miss Linnie Coe of near Lucas, and Saturday evening at the home of Mr. & Mrs. James McMeeken the bride and groom were given a reception.  The friends and relatives of the contracting parties were present and wished them a long and prosperous life.

A pleasant wedding occurred at noon Dec. 23 at the residence at B. Picking, brother-in-law of the bride.  George H. Sackman and Miss Anna A. Cooper, both of Shelby, were the happy couple united in marriage by the Rev. R.H. Edmonds.  

Clarence H. Small and Miss Edith S. Hoover were united in marriage by the Rev. R.H. Edmonds of the bride's home on Harker Street, Christmas Eve, at 8:30.  Only the immediate friends were present.  It was an enjoyable occasion, a bountiful supper was served.  Many valuable presents were received.

Saturday -- W.O. Wiles and Miss Dot Baker, both of whom reside near Lucas, were married at 3 p.m. Thursday, by Dr. Wiles.  The groom is a nephew and Dr. Wiles.

Saturday -- Frank Kenestuck and Miss Dora F. McGann were married by Rev. S.J. McConnell at Plymouth, Dec. 24.

Saturday -- C.C. Harrow and May A. Howard were united in marriage by Rev. J.N. Barnett, at Bellville, Wednesday.

Saturday -- Charles L. Burns, of Epworth, and Miss Hattie E. Fairhurst, of this city, were united in marriage Christmas Day by Dr. F.A. Gould, at the Methodist parsonage.
