Mr. William Touby, with the firm of E. & F.M. Remy, was married Wednesday last week to Miss Rosa Voegele, daughter of Mrs. Louisa Voegele, at the German Lutheran parsonage on West Third Street, Rev. Louis Krebs performing the ceremony.  The bride is a sister of Recorder W.F. Voegele, C.H. Voegele, of the firm Voegele & Dinning, and of A.C. & F.C. Voegele, the coal dealers.

MARRIED -- Mr. George W. Jason and Mrs. Electa S. Smilie, eldest daughter of Mr. W.B. Carpenter were married Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the residence of the bride's parents.

Mr. David J. Rhodes and Mrs. Izorah Ortz, both of Shelby, were married Monday morning at the residence of H.L. Wiles and left the same morning for New York, Philadelphia and other eastern cities on a wedding tour.

Mr. Arthur M. Bringman and Miss Maggie Shenafield, both residing on Bowman Street, were married at 7 o'clock Thursday evening, at Rev. Frank Russell's study in the Congregational Church.  They will continue to live in this city.

Wednesday evening last Silas H. Croft and Miss Kate Bell were made man and wife at the residence of the bride's parents on Water Street.  Rev. Dr. Wiles tied the nuptial knot in the presence of about forty friends and relatives.

John C. Ayers and Lulu Englehart, of Lexington, were married Tuesday night at the residence of the bride's mother, Mrs. Mary Englehart, Rev. Fulton officiating.  The parties left immediately after the ceremony was performed for Chicago, where they will spend a week of their honeymoon.  On their return they will stop a few days at Garrett, Ind., visiting with friends.  Mr. Ayers is located at Newark, where he and his wife will make their future home.

Wm. B. Marlow and Anna M. Vantilburg, of Springfield Township, were married by the Rev. Chas. Herr on Thursday, at the residence of the bride's parents.

Jacob Earhart, of California, and Mrs. Sarah M. Caldwell, of this city, were united in matrimony Thursday by Rev. Anderson of the United Presbyterian Church, at the residence of the bride's son-in-law, J. Uhlich, No. 117 North Main Street.  The couple with the daughter, Miss Minnie Caldwell, left for their future home in California the same afternoon.

The marriage of Eugene D. Lindsey to Miss Nellie Brown, took place at the residence of the parents of the bride at 119 South Main Street, on Thursday evening.  About fifty invited guests assembled and Dr. H.L. Wiles performed the ceremony.

Milton A. Sheffler and Aura Brown, who both reside in this community, were married at Justice Sibbett's office a short time ago.  A singular thing about the marriage was that the license was obtained May 31, 1882, more than three years ago, and had been in the possession of the groom ever since.

I.C. Charles, of Lucas, and Miss Jennie Hague, daughter of Dr. I.H. Hague, of Shreve, were married at the residence of the bride's parents Tuesday afternoon.  They will make Lucas their future home.

MARRIED, On Saturday evening, September 12, 1885, at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs. T.B. Howard, 87 West Fourth Street, Mr. J.J. Pitts and Miss Ella M. Ringer, of Massillon, Rev. J.A. Anderson officiating.

Rev. Dr. H.L. Wiles officiated at the marriage on Wednesday morning last at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Blecker, this city, of Mr. R.J. Dinning, of Omaha, formerly of this city, and Mrs. Kate A. Harper, sister of Mrs. Blecker.  The wedding was a quiet affair, only members of the family being present.  

At six o'clock Wednesday evening last Chas. J. Harris, clerk at Pennsylvania company's freight office, was united in marriage to Miss Nettie B. Wise, daughter of Mr. Geo. C. Wise, one of our most prominent business men.  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Frank Russell in the presence of a large number of guests.

MARRIED, At the Methodist parsonage, Thursday evening, September 17, by Rev. Albert D. Knapp, Mr. Orange McDonald and Miss Mary Voutat, both of this city.

MARRIED, At the residence of Probate Judge A.J. Mack, 134 West Market Street, Mr. George May and Miss Ella Tucker were united in the holy bonds of matrimony.  The wedding was strictly private.  Mrs. May has been a domestic in the Judge's family for some time.

MARRIED, Mr. Hiram W. Sharp and Miss Florence Heck were another couple who joined the happy majority last night, and will henceforth travel the journey of life in company as husband and wife.

MARRIED, Mr. Frank Schreidt and Miss Josie Ritter were privately married Wednesday evening at half-past seven o'clock, at the residence of the latter's mother, No. 76 South Main Street.  The ceremony was performed by Dr. S.A. Bronson, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, in the presence of the near relatives of the bride and groom.  The wedded couple left the same evening for Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York on their bridal tour.  They will return in about two weeks via Buffalo and Niagara Falls.  Mr. Schreidt is a member of The Schreidt & Miller company, of this city.

MARRIED, At half-past five o'clock Wednesday evening, at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs. J.I. Geddes, No. 88 South Main Street, Miss Frances Hubbell, a teacher of vocal and piano music and a well-known society lady, was quietly married to Mr. James L. Cowen, a merchant of Delaware.  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. S.A. Bronson and was witnessed by none but the near relatives and friends of the contracting couple.  The married twin departed at 7:40 p.m., via the P.F.&C. for Delaware, where they will make their future home.  The bride received a number of elegant and useful presents.

MARRIED, Mr. Thomas B. Foerster, of the firm of Foerster Bros., restaurateurs, and Miss Carrie Gertig, daughter of Mr. John W.E. Gertig, traveling salesman for the wholesale grocery house of Tracy & Avery, were united in marriage Wednesday evening at the home of the bride's parents, No. 78 East Market Street.  The account of this marriage has been shortened from the original. 

MARRIED, Rev. Frank Russell, assisted by Rev. Dr. H.L. Wiles, officiated at the nuptials of Mr. Hugh E. King and Miss Grace E. Hoffer, which were celebrated at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac B. Hoffer, No. 88 East Market Street, Wednesday evening, at 7:30 o'clock.  The account of this marriage has been shortened from the original. 

ADARIO, SEPT. 21 -- The most enjoyable event of the season for Butler Township was the wedding which took place Thursday, Sept. 10, at the pleasant home of Mr. and Mrs. John Coleman.  Long before the hour announced on the cards for the ceremony invited guests to the number of about forty had assembled to witness the nuptials of the accomplished young lady, Samantha Coleman, and C.M. Imhoff, the young attorney from Mansfield.  The impressive ceremony was perfumed by the Rev. Mr. Hendry, of Mentor, O., who is the young couple's pastor at Shenandoah.  The account of this marriage has been shortened from the original.

Mr. John L. Longshore, clerk in the drugstore of C.M. Miller, and Miss Wilda Ferguson, were married last Wednesday at the residence of the bride's parents in the country southwest of the city, and left the same evening for Philadelphia, where the former purposes entering the College of Pharmacy.

Miss Laura Ames, a former teacher in the public schools of this city, was married last week to a Mr. Conner, of Marietta.

15 October 1885, Vol. 35, No. 48

Mr. Walter H. Turner, of Crown Point, Ind., and Miss Mary E. Holmes, were married Wednesday at 11 o'clock a.m. at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Holmes, at No. 87 N. Main Street, the Rev. H.L. Wiles officiating.  The wedded couple left at 12:30 p.m. via the N.Y.P.&O. for Crown Point, their future home, where Mr. Turner is engaged in the produce business.  They have the congratulations and best wishes of their numerous friends.

Mr. Charles A. Shouse and Miss Anna Strickler, were married Thursday evening at No. 27 Wood Street, by Rev. Frank Russell.  They left the city the same evening for a visit in Newark and St. Clairsville, the latter place being the home of Mr. Shouse's parents.  They will reside on West Market Street, this city.

Card are out for the marriage of Mr. Charles Broomfield to Miss Nettie Coulter, which took place Wednesday evening at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. R.M. Coulter, three miles west of this city.  The expectant bride and groom are both well known, and very popular in society circles in Mansfield, and the best wishes of their numerous friends will attend them in their married life.  

On last Sunday evening a quiet wedding took place at the residence of Frank Wentz on Mulberry Street.  The contracting parties were Lester Hall and Miss Lottie Wentz, both popular young people of our city.  "Squire Endly performed the ceremony.  It was a quiet and sensible affair, as furnished apartments had been arranged before the marriage on South East Diamond Street, where they will reside.

Mr. Henry Moores and Miss Mattie Roatpouch were united in marriage Tuesday evening by Esquire A.J. Endly at his office.

Mr. Samuel Thoma and Mrs. Meda E. Henry were united in marriage Thursday evening by Rev. H.L. Wiles, at the English Lutheran parsonage.

On Wednesday evening, October 21, 1885, at 8 o'clock, two of Mansfield's prominent young people, Mr. Charles Brumfield and Miss Nettie Coulter were united in marriage at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Mr. Jno. W. Taylor and Miss Annie L. Oberlin were married last Thursday, Nov. 12th., at 1 o'clock p.m., at the residence of Mr. W.K. Oberlin on West Fourth Street by Rev. A.D. 03 December 1885, Vol. 36, No. 3

Mr. Lewis Vonhof, a wealthy German citizen of this city, and Mrs. Julianna Aberle were married on Tuesday evening at the residence of the bride, No. 27 North Sugar Street.  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J.B. Jud, pastor of the St. John's Evangelical Church.  Immediately after the ceremony the couple took quarters at the St. James Hotel, which is owned by Mr. Vonhof.  They will probably remain at the hotel until Spring, Mr. Vonhof having given up his residence on West Third Street to his daughter.  He is the father of Mrs. Sharpless E. Bird and Mrs. John G. Spencer.  Mrs. Vonhof also has two children, Charles and Mary Aberle.

At half-past twelve o'clock Wednesday last, John Franklin, of Newark, and Miss Anna Wright, of this city, were quietly married at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wright, No. 55 North Mulberry Street.  The ceremony was performed by Rev. S.A. Bronson, D.D., rector of Grace Episcopal Church, and only the friends and relatives of the couple were in attendance.

Invitations are out for the marriage on the 30th. of this month of John R. Hedges, of Fort Worth, Tex., and Miss Margaret Effie Vennum, of this city, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Vennum, No. 34 West Fourth Street.  The groom is well known in this city, being the nephew of Hon. C. Hedges, and a graduate of the Mansfield High School.  The couple graduated from the high school at the same time.  Mr. Hedges taking first honor, and were members of the class of '82.  Mr. Hedges is connected with the Associated Press, and spent one year in Chicago before he was transferred to Texas.  The bride is well and favorably known in social circles and the wedding is destined to be one of the most notable society events of the season.
