June 22

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Reid Carpenter, and Marion Avenue , was the scene of an attractive wedding this morning at 10:00 , when they gave their daughter, Miss Jeanette Reid Carpenter, in marriage to Ernest R. Hartman.  The time of the wedding had been kept secret, even from the most intimate friends of the young people, only 24 of the very nearest relatives witnessing the ceremony.   Lavender and pink sweet peas were used in abundance in decoration of the Carpenter home, while love lead Jim Rose's added dare touch of color against the green of the many ferns and smilax.  Making the background for the wedding ceremony with the palms and ferns, arranged to form an altar.  The young people were unattended, the charming bride wearing a girlish frock of white net.  Lavender sweet peas and pink roses made her corsage bouquet.  Just before the ceremony, the words of which were read by the Rev. E. M. McMillin, of the First Presbyterian Church, Miss Marjorie Hurxthal gave several piano numbers, then falling into the soft strains of the Lohengrin wedding march told of the approach of the bride.  Immediately following the ceremony a delicious wedding breakfast was served on the screen porch.  Covers were laid for 24 at the one long table.  The colors of pink and lavender had also been used in the arrangement of this, while tall pink candles lighted the pretty scene.  Mr. and Mrs. Hartman left dead man for an extended wedding trip which they will pass in motoring and on the Great lakes .  Many pretty social affairs have been given honoring Mr. and Mrs. Hartman in the past several months, while no doubt many more will be given on the return to Mansfield of these popular members of Mansfield social circles.
