Elected Worshipful Master in 1845 and 1850.  He received his degrees in Mansfield Lodge during the summer of 1841, and served as Master in 1845 and again in 1850.  Came to Mansfield during February, 1822.  He was a tailor by trade, living and working first on the west side of Main Street, but mot of the time on East Market Street.  His home was used as a lodge room during the troublesome times.  His home was removed to make way for the erection of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church on what is now Park Avenue East.  He served as Associate Judge prior to 1851 and was the country treasurer in 1856.
