The Commencement exercises of the High School were held last Friday evening in the Lutheran church.  Although the evening was very rainy a good audience was in attendance.  The church was tastefully decorated.  Especially beautiful as the arrangement of the rostrum, the recess of which formed a charming background of blooming plants and lace curtains.  The exercises were highly entertaining and reflect great credit upon the schools.  All the exercises were given by members of the schools with two exceptions, Misses Della Sampsell and Nellie Rummel as pianists.  There was a neatness and tastefulness in all that pertained to the occasion that drew from all present the most favorable comment. 

The graduating class, Misses Keilie Flaharty and Carrie Flaharty were assisted in the program by Miss Kate Schuler who gave a recitation.  The vocal music was furnished by members of the high school.  The ---- of the ladies were a feature of the evening.

Miss Carrie Flaharty wore light cream henrietta cloth, square neck, with cream silk lace, electric green surah sash, natural flowers.  

Miss Keilie Flaharty, dark cream cashmere, pink silk vest, V-neck with illusion, pink silk sash.

Miss Schuler, white embroidered india lawn, surplice waist, pale green surah sash, yellow rosebuds.

Miss Sampsel, same as Miss Schuler, excepting white silk sash and no flowers.

Miss Rummel sea green china silk, V-neck with silk lace, pink surah sash.

The ladies of the choir were all dressed becomingly in white.

The essays were carefully written and the thoughts contained showed that the writers applied themselves and that there was not a lack of good training.  An abstract of the two essays will appear next week.
