Mr. and Mrs. Andrus J. Gilbert - CELEBRATING GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - Mr. and Mrs. Andrus J. Gilbert Married in Mansfield Fifty Years Ago Today - Mr. and Mrs. Andrus J. Gilbert of 355 Marion avenue, are today celebrating their golden wedding anniversary.  The event is being quietly celebrated by the couple, although a big family dinner at the family home this evening will help to remind them of a most important event in their lives.  Fifty years ago today, Jan. 15, 1868, Andrus J. Gilbert and Miss S. Delia Whitney, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. B. F. Whitney, were married at the Park avenue Baptist church, by the Rev. S. A. Collins.  This is the same church as the one standing there today at the corner of Park avenue west and North Walnut street.  "It was 15 degrees below zero on the night of the wedding," said Mr. Gilbert this morning, "and this brand of weather today is therefore nothing new to me."  Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert have made their home in Mansfield during all the years of their married life.  Both are in good health and have many years of life in look forward to.  They are the parents of three children, Edward J. Gilbert, Mrs. William A. Sheets and Rexford W. Gilbert, all of Mansfield.  [THE MANSFIELD NEWS: Tuesday, January 15, 1918; Page 10]  

Mr. and Mrs. P. P. Ford - Golden Wedding Being Celebrated - The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. P. P. Ford is being celebrated today at their home in Ausdale.  Mr. Ford was born Nov. 20, 1846 and enlisted to fight in the Civil war June 10, 1861 when he was only 15 years of age.  He was the son of Gov. Thomas H. Ford and was the first mail carrier in the city.  Mrs. Ford was born in Knox county, Feb. 4, 1850.  They were married Aug. 13, 1868 and are the parents of six children, four of whom are living.  They are Mrs. Theodore E. Remy of Dallas, Tex., Edwin D. Ford, Mrs. George C. Albrecht and Miss Harriett D. Ford of this city.  Mr. and Mrs. Ford are well known to the citizens of Mansfield.  Of late years he has been identified with the Humane society as its agent.  Mr. and Mrs. Ford spent last winter in Dallas, Tex., with their daughter.  This worthy couple have spent practically all their married life in or near this city.  A color scheme of gold has been used in the arrangement of the lovely home of Mr. and Mrs. Albrecht, where at noon hour a delicious family dinner was served with covers laid for 17 guests.  Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Kirk and daughter of Cleveland and Mrs. Theodore Remy, the only guests from away.  The many lighted tapers assisted in this color scheme, while great bouquets of golden glow are used throughout the home.  This afternoon and evening friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Ford have been asked to call.  [THE MANSFIELD NEWS: Tuesday, August 13, 1918; Page 8]   

 
 
Judge and Mrs. N. M. Wolfe - Golden Wedding Anniversary Observed by Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe - Thursday was the golden wedding anniversary of Judge and Mrs. N. M. Wolfe, of 3 Summit court, and these well known Mansfield residents were the recipients of congratulations and best wishes from a host of friends who learned of this happy occasion.  
For the pleasure of their parents, Mrs. George W. Kenson and Mrs. Allen Bond gave a dinner Thursday evening at 6 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Bond, 36 Sherman avenue.  There were twenty-five guests at the dinner, these being confined to members of the family and a few immediate friends.  The occasion was one of reminiscences and pleasant social hours.  
Both Mr. Wolfe and Mrs. Wolfe, who was Nancy Jane Leiter before her marriage, are lifelong residents of Richland county.  They were married September 22, 1877 in Monroe township, north of Lucas, and immediately afterwards came to Mansfield where they have since made their home.  They are the parents of four children - Mrs. G. W. Kenson, Fred W. Wolfe, Mrs. Allen Bond and Norman Wolfe, Jr.  They also have seven grandchildren.  Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe have been in good health, and their friends join in wishing them many more years of marital bliss.  [THE MANSFIELD NEWS: Sunday, September 25, 1927; Page 1, Second Section]
