Seeking additional information about my greatgrandparents, Joel
Darius DAVIS and Mary Frances SMITH. Joel is listed in the 1880
census of Portage Co. Kent, OH as a physician and his wife Mary as a
milliner. Children were Claude, Clifton, Ethelbert, Jay, Margaret.
Children born after that census were Janet, Edna, Louise, Bessie.
Janet was my grandmother. Joel was born in Ohio, but I don't know
where, as was his father (name unknown to me). His mother born in NY
(name unknown). Mary born in OH, her father, Samuel Draper SMITH in
CT and her mother in Ireland. According to my family oral history,
Samuel went to CA to find gold and never returned. His wife was
Margaret GETTYS, supposedly from the Gettysburg, PA Gettys. Margaret
is buried with daughter Mary Frances and son in law Joel in Standing
Rock Cemetary, Lot 140, Kent, OH. Need further info on Joel's
parents and Mary's, and any other info that would help. Thanks.
I am interested in info regarding Noble MARTIN and Nancy JEWELL
who were married in Portage County on April 2, 1840 and are listed
on the 1850 Census together with their daughter Mary. Also listed
was McGill JEWELL, relationship unknown. Lookin for any info on the
MARTIN and JEWELL families.
looking for info. on a John GOSS who Married Eliza PARKER in
1827 in Ohio. the 1820 ohio census list a John Goss from Portage Cty
along with Beder, Carver and David Goss. Eliza Parker is also listed
in the 1820 census from Fairfield Ohiol. The FHL list an Ebeneezer
Goss and Beder Goss as father and son and both having been born with
extra fingers and Toes . My line of Goss's has people born with the
very same thing. Is the Beder Goss mentioned in the FHL files the
same as the Beder Goss listed int he 1820 census in Ohio.
HIRAM LEE- Looking for info on Hiram LEE & family. Hiram was
born 1794,d.1831. He married Julia LEE, (maiden name unknown). They
had five children. ALLEN LEE the oldest was born 1818 in Hampden
Co.,Mass.The other children,(names unknown)were born in Hartford
Co., Conn.per 1830 Conn. census. After HIRAM LEE died, the family
moved to Troy,Geauga Co.,Ohio about 1834. In 1848 Allen LEE married
Marinda E.RYDER/RIDER b.1826. They had three children, Edwin
A.LEE,b.1848, Jason H.LEE,b.1851 & Frank W.LEE,b.1853 all born in
Hiram,Portage Co.,Ohio. What happened to Julia LEE and her other
children?

Nelson, Portage, County. Need proof of land ownership, death, will?
Eliakim STOW, son of Benjamin, from Granville, Mass, 1800-1830,
believed to be vet of 1812, need land ownership, death, will? James
Philomen STOW, son of Eliakim, married Jemima BURTON, Feb 5, 1829 in
Congress, Wayne County. Milton Nahum STOW, son of Eliakim, married
17 August, 1828 in Congress, Wayne, Ohio. The two sons became
Mormons, would like info on where and when. I have no info on BURTON
family, would like to find parents.

Return Jackson, William, Louisa, Sarah, Nancy Ann, ellen Adelia,
George Grant and Christopher were all children of George Grant
REDDEN and his wife Adelia HIGLEY. They were all born between 1816
and 1834 in Hyrum, Portage, OH. I'd like to know more about the
