Mrs. Mabel Scott
Funeral services for Mrs. (Walter) Mabel Scott, 81, of 112 West Second Street, Waverly, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Boyer
Funeral Home here, with Rev. W. Thomas Snyer officiating. Burial followed in Waverly Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends called at the funeral home from 2 until 9 p.m. Friday.
Mrs. Scott, died unexpectedly at 8 a.m. Thursday at her home. Her death was attributed to natural causes.
She was a retired home economics teacher at Waverly High
Schools, serving for 24 years from 1942 thru 1966.
Born in Pike County on June 27, 1896, a daughter of the late Dr. W. H. and Myrtle Godrey Johnson.
On May 12, 1918, she married Walter Scott, who survives at home.
In addition to her husband, survibving are one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Jane) Featherstone of East Lansing, Michigan; two grandchildren; two-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Millicent) Sudlow, of Granada Hills, Calif., and Mrs. George (Jean) Gallagher of Columbus.
Mrs. Scott was a 50-year member and past matron of Waverly Chaper 99, Order of the Eastern Star, Elta Kappa Gamma, Ohio Retired Teacher Associatin and the Grace United Methodist Church here.
She was predeceased by her parents and one brother.
