Mrs. Mabel Ater
Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Ater, 94, of Atlanta, Ohio were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland, with burial following in Springlawn Cemetery in Williamsport. Friends called at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Alter died at 12:30 a.m. Friday at her residence in Atlanta, after being in failing health for a year.
A native of Pike County, she was born on May 18, 1882 the daughter of Al and Inez Tipton Williamson.
Her husband, Claude Ater died in 1964.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Marvene Weaver of Circleville, Mrs. Aleene Foreman of Lehigh Acres, Florida, and Miss Ruth Ater of Atlanta; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Alter was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist.

Mrs. Bertha Allen
Mrs. Bertha Allen
- Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Allen, 64, of Route #1, Beaver, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Boyer Funeral Home In Waverly, with Rev James Viar officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery here. Friends called at the funeral home from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday.
Mrs. Allen died at midnight Friday in Chillicothe Medical Center Hospital, after a brief illness.
A native of Pike County, she was born on January 13, 1913, the daughter of James and Pampa Beaver Cruze.
Her husband, George W. Allen, died July 10, 1972.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Mrs. Allen's only survivors are one son, Lloyd Allen of Route #1, Beaver; two grandaughters; and one step-sister, Mrs. Everett (Ina) Hahn of Richmond Dale.
She was a member of the Allen Chapel Community Church.
