Elmer "Doc" Snyder

Elmer "Doc" Snyder, 69 of 309 South Market St., Waverly died unexpectedly about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug 6 (1970) at his
residence after being in failing health recently.

Doc was well known throughout this area. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a mechanic at Vallery Ford, for many years, and
 later was a custodian at North Elementary School here. He had been a member of the Waverly Fire Department for 23 years,
 and was a member of the Waverly Church of Christ in Christian Union.

A native of Pike county, he was born on Nov. 6, 1900, a son of Guy and Alice (Argabright) Snyder.

On Jan. 28, 1934, he married the former Dorothy Miller who survives at home.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Faye) Steiner of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Pete (Minnie) Wills  of Columbus; and five brothers,
Leslie Snyder of Piketon, Otto Snyder of Cleveland, Tom Snyder of Fairborn, Oscar Snyder of Springfield, and Frank Snyder of Kettering, Ohio
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Richard Humble, officiating. Burial followed in
Evergreen Cemetery here. Friends called at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Friday until the final rites.
