Clara Ruby Lowder

     Funeral services were held for Clara Ruby Lowder, who died November 17, 12:23 a.m. at St. Anthony's Hospital, Columbus.  Services were conducted at the Boyer Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. today (Tuesday), the Reverend Donald Pfeifer officiating.
     Mrs. Lowder was a resident of 1172 St Rt 220, Piketon.  She was born May 2, 1903 to parents, Charles and Sarah (Smith) Meyers in Buchanan, West Virginia.  She was the wife of Richard Lowder, married December 22, 1921.  Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one daughter, Gail Dement and two sons, Ulysses Grant Lowder and Richard Delor Lowder.
     Surviving her are two sons, Mr. Challis R. Lowder, of Portsmouth, Virginia and Mr.  John C. Lowder of Peebles; four daughters, Mrs.  Derwood (Marie) Cunningham and Helen Lowder, both of Piketon, Mrs. William (Jewell) Sells,  of Canton and Mrs. Glen D.  (Sara Ann) Bennett of Akron: 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren: two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Powell of Odessa, Texas and Mrs. Minnie Fisher of Minford.
     Mrs. Lowder was a member of the Buchanan Christian Union Church and Order of Eastern Star.
     Calling time was held at Boyer Funeral Home from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday and services were also held by the Eastern Star, Waverly Chapter 99, at 6:30 p. m. Monday evening. Burial will take place at Granny Thomas Cemetery, York, Kentucky.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Pike County Cancer Fund.
