WILLIAM C. BOTKINS CLAIMED BY DEATH
Clerk of Central Rural School Board Succumbs Saturday after a Lingering Illness.
William C. Botkins, 66, died at 11 p.m. Saturday, at his home near Idaho after a lingering illness.
A native of Circleville, born November 29, 1886, he was the only son of the late Eva Caroline Robinson and William Henry Botkins.
Mr. Botkins was employed for seven years by the Kam Electric & Power Company of Kekerberka Falls, Ontario, Canada.
He was united in marriage on August 10, 1913, to Bessie Frances Hart, who survives.
On his return to the United States he was employed by the D.T.& I. & N. W. and Pennsylvania railroads retiring in 1932 because of ill health.
He was a member of the Columbus Brotherhood of Locomotive Fireman and Enginemen.
For the past fifteen years, he has resided in Pike County, near Idaho.
While in Pike County Mr. Botkins was active in civic affairs in his community and had held positions on the Central Rural School Board and township offices.
Beside the wife, he is survived by one son, Burris Botkin, of Idaho, two brothers-in-law, Ollie Hart of Springfield and Ora Hart of Elm Grove, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mae McJunkin of Marion.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the residence with Rev. Charles McKnight officiating.
Burial followed in Mound Cemetery at Piketon under the direction of the Wylie Funeral Home.
