MELVIN JENKINS

Melvin Jenkins, 66, of Marion, died at 7:10 p. m. Monday at Marion General Hospital.
He was a construction laborer and was born May 6, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky.
Survivors include his wife Eartha Montgomery Jenkins; a son David of Marion; three daughters Mrs. Franklin (Laura) Beller and Mrs. Nancy DeMott, both of Marion, and Mrs. Johnie (Sue) Fletcher of Sidney; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Henry of Sidney, Harlen and Ham of Beaver, and Noah of Piketon.
Preceding Jenkins in death are his parents, a daughter and two brothers.
He was a member of the Givens United Baptist Church.
The funeral was 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Morganfork United Baptist Church with Brothers Robert Blanton, Holly Jenkins and Fred Tackett officiating.
Burial will be in Jenkins Family Cemetery.
