Charles L. Scowden
Charles Lee Scowden,
76, a native of Pike County, died at 5:30 a.m., Sunday October 24, at Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth. He was a retired employee of Empire-Detroit Steel Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Lambert Scowden; two sons, Charles Scowden of Beloit, Illinois, and Roger Scowden of Union; two daughters, Mrs. Verna Graves of Dayton and Mrs. Christine McGraw, at home; four grandchildren whom he reared, Mrs. Peggy Holley, Joseph McGraw, Danny McGraw and Penny McGraw all at home; three brothers, William Scowden of Idaho, Ohio, Harold Scowden of Latham and Paul Scowden of Peebles; three sisters, Mrs. Flossie Parker of Waverly, Mrs. Cora Legg of Idaho and Mrs. Nina Daniels of Dayton; 11 other grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Warren Funeral Home, New Boston, with the Rev. Sidney Snyder officiating. Interment was at Flora Hills Memorial Gardens.
