Vivian Compton , 60, of 516 Seventh Street, Waverly, died 7;30 p.m. August 20 in Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota, Florida following surgery.
She was born January 31, 1925, in Pike County, Kentucky.  On January 9, 1948, she married Charles (Dick) Compton who survives.
Also surviving are her parents, Toby and Eva Roberts Dameron of Ray; three daughters, Mrs. Judy Stahl, Palmetto, Florida; Mrs. Vickie Coey of Beaver and Mrs. Terry (Sheila) Deweese, Waverly; eight grandchildren; six brothers Chad, Brad, George and Doug Dameron, all of Palmetto, John Dameron of Orlando, Florida and Jim Jack Dameron of Antigua, British West Indies; five sisters, Mrs. Gladys Myers of Sciotoville, Mrs. Elvira Turner of Dayton, Mrs. Laura VanBiber of Chillicothe, Mrs. Edith Horton of Oak Hill and Mrs. Elaine Owen of Columbus.  She was predeceased by a brother.
Mrs. Compton was a former employee of Britts and Langs Dry Cleaner.  She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary 142 of Waverly, the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary 40 & 8.  She was a member of the Rollin Buckeye Camping Club.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Botkins Funeral Home,
Waverly with Rev. Charles W. Lusher officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday.
