John Langley Coffee
COFFEE, John Langley - Funeral service were held at 1 p.m. today at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, for Brother John Langley Coffee, 75, of Beachwood Road, Columbus.
Coffee, a former resident of Elm Grove, died at 3:22 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus. He was a retired Fuller Brush Salesman after 20 years of service.
He was born January 13, 1911, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to Bruce and Catherine Tackett Coffee, who preceded him. He married Cloma Montgomery on December 25, 1928. He was a member of the Straight Creek Enterprise Baptist Church and attended the Williams Road Freewill Baptist Church of Columbus.
He is survived by three sons, Charles Coffee of Marengo, Ohio; James Coffee of Baltimore, Ohio and John Larry Coffee of Columbus; six daughters, Mrs. Levi (Helen) Oakes of Gary, Indiana; Mrs. John (Caroline) Nidiffer of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Mrs. Arthur (Gladys) O'Bryant of Baltimore, Ohio, Mrs. Robert (Wilma) Holsinger of Waverly, Mrs. George (Velma) Pettit of Portsmouth and Mrs. Donna Miller of Columbus; 20 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother, Roy Coffee of Salyersville, Kentucky; two sisters, Mrs. Cassie Robinette and Mrs. Clyde (Alma) McClellen of Ashland, Kentucky.
Brothers Henry Ward and Calvin Hays officiated the services. Interment was in Mound Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Columbus Cancer Clinic.
