Hugh M. Barr
, 82, a former resident of the Latham area, passed away on January 2, 1974 in Paxton Community Hospital, Ranklin Illinois.
Barr was born October 8, 1890, a son of Daniel J. and Elizabeth Genter Barr. He married Della Newkirk in 1918 and they resided on their farm at Rankin for many years. He was a member of the Rankin United Methodist Church, Vermilion County Farm Bureau, Masonic Lodge, Order of Easter Star and the Odd Fellows.
Besides his widow he is survived by a daughter, two sons, nine grandchildren and three great-grand children.
Also surviving are one sister and two brothers.
The Barr family grew up in the Latham area.

Fairie G. Henderson
Fairie G. Henderson
, 82, of Columbus, a Pike County native, died Sunday, March 9, at Whetstone Convalescent Center, Columbus.
Daughter of Calvin T. and Eva T. Henderson, she was born in Pike County and had resided in Columbus since 1910. She was a 50-year member of the Fifth Avenue, United methodis Church in Columbus and was active in many organizations. She was employed as a secretary for the State of Ohio and also for the 4th Avenue Church of Christ.
Surviving are a brother, Sherman Henderson of Columbus and Lake White, and a nephew, Donald Henderson of Columbus. She was predeceased by her parents and two nephews, Verlin R. and G. Burnell Henderson.
Funeral services were to be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Deyo-Davis Funeral Home, 1578 First Avenue, Grandview Heights and burial made in the Union Cemetery, Columbus.
