Wetmore Camp was organized in June, 1887, with the following charter members:
Captain - J. H. Watkins; 1st Lieutenant - John Stevens, 2nd Lieutenant - C. C. Horn; 1st Sergeant - Gradd Tidd; Quartermaster S. - A. L. Tidd; Sergeant of the Guard - William Freeland; Chaplain - Warren McCoy, George South, Charles Southworth, Martin Lenarz, Andrew Bruce, E. H. Franklin, Samuel Maxwell, W. S. McNamar, John Tidd, Charles Slaughter. Honorary members, Henry Lenartz.
