This deed contains some important historical information. The property described is the triangular land between Montgomery and Smith Roads, south from the intersection of those streets. It has contained several properties significant to Norwood and the predecessor community of Sharpsburg. As the deed mentioned, a school house — the first in what was to become Norwood was located here. It eventually was replaced with other school buildings and named Central School. For a long time it was the only school house in the area. Several taverns have been at the site, including, later, the Sanker House and Garden. Norwood Fire House No. 1 was placed here, too. The Norwood Theater was at the spot, also. In modern times the property has been home to many businesses.
