WOMAN VICTIM OF PNEUMONIA

Mrs. O. L. Wagner, 31, died of pneumonia at the home of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Smith, 423 Springfield street, Sunday morning at 8:30 o'clock. She leaves her aged parents, three brothers, John E., Frank and Will P. Wagner; two sisters, Mrs. J. G. Koogler, and Mrs. Warren Rodebaugh, besides her husband and a son, Richard.

The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence, 423 Springfield street. Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.

FIFTH TYPHOID FEVER VICTIM DIES HERE
Patricia Wagner Services Sunday

Funeral services will be held Saturday for 15-year-old Patricia Wagner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl A. Wagner, 149 Huffman avenue, fifth typhoid fever fatality of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad employes' dinner here April 3. Miss Wagner died Thursday at Good Samaritan hospital.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the R. C. Mills funeral home, 1720 East Third street, and at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family church. Burial will be made at Lima, O. Friends may call at the funeral home after Friday noon.

A graduate of Holy Family school and Wilbur Wright junior high school, she had been a member of Stivers high school sophomore class last year.

Surviving are her parents; three sisters, Betty Jane and Ruth Wagner, and Mrs. Betty Suma; a brother, Karl Jr., and her grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Graham, Lima.

Three members of the Wagner family were stricken following the dinner, which was prepared by a typhoid carrier. Her father and a sister, Mary Jane, have recovered; Patricia became moderately ill April 11, but suffered a recurrence Tuesday and was taken to the hospital. Dr. H. H. Williams, city health commissioner, said there are two other banquet guests who now have typhoid and still are under treatment.

Funeral services for Pius Wagner, 45, of 64 North Adelite avenue, who died Monday at the Miami Valley hospital, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Riesinger's chapel. Burial was made in Willowview cemetery.

Funeral services for Ralph Wagner, 27, who died Thursday at St. Elizabeth hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Meyer and Boehmer funeral home, 600 Washington st. Burial will be in Willowview cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday.

Wagner--Theodore M., formally of Trotwood passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17th, aged 77 years. Funeral services will be held Friday, 10 a. m., from the late residence, 43 Victor av. Brief service at Kunz cemetery, Trotwood.

IN MEMORIAM

William Webbert Wagner, son of Henry and Rachel Wagner, was born in the city of Dayton, November 19, 1851, and lived in this city during his lifetime. He died the evening of October 16, 1904, aged 52 years, 10 months and 27 days.

He married in this city Eleanor J. Kelley, December 8, 1885, with whom he lived happily nearly nineteen years and till death closed his early vision. To them were born two daughters, Eleanor and Rachel, both of whom survive him, and with their mother deeply mourn their loss of a loving husband and a fond father.

From his youth his habits were steady and his life upright. Having early acquired a fair education, he soon obtained good qualifications in bookkeeping and when quite a young man, was employed as the bookkeeper of a commercial enterprise at Yazoo, Miss., where he spent a few months. Soon after this he became bookkeeper in the United Brethren printing establishment of this city, where he remained several years, and so satisfactory were his services that it was a matter of much regret when he announced his purpose to retire from that position. His knowledge and experience in the establishment, together with his accuracy and integrity, were regarded as almost indispensable. But a suggestion of increased salary did not induce him to remain.

His financial ability began to manifest itself soon after in his personal affairs, and in connection with the Stoddard Manufacturing company of this city. In this company he was a stockholder from 1884, and he became a member of the board of directors in the year 1891, and was continued in the relation till his death. The board, at a recent meeting, paid a beautiful tribute to this character and to his usefulness in the company.

Mr. Wagner, from his youth up, was sober in mind, upright in life and moral in all his conduct. He was a believer in the Christian religion, and for many years an attendant of the Fourth Presbyterian church on this city, of which his wife was a devout communicant. A short time before his death he was baptised and received into the church and died in hope of immortality.

Mr. Wagner leaves behind him a sorrowing widow and two weeping daughters, who most of all are bereft. But he also leaves an aged father and mother, who outlive and mourn their elder son, the pride of their lives and the cheer of their declining years. He also leaves behind a brother and sister and their families, and many relatives, neighbors and friends. All feel as if his death had come too soon. But God does all things well. With Him we await the resurrection of the just, when all earthly sorrows will be swallowed up in eternal victory.

DIES AT AGE OF 32

Elwood E. Walklet, 32, died Monday at 6:40 a.m. at the Miami Valley hospital. He leaves his wife, Helen Walket [sic] (nee Synder) and three children. Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Wallace, 36, who died Tuesday afternoon at Miami Valley hospital, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m., at the residence of her mother, Mrs. Ida Jackson, 118 Jackson st. Mrs. Esther Wallace, 36, residing at 118 Jackson st., died Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Miami Valley hospital. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Mrs. Wallace is survived by her mother, Mrs. Eda Jackson; three sons, Thomas, Robert and Donald; and a daughter, Mabel, all of Dayton, and one sister, Mrs. Ada Manson, Piqua.

Funeral services for R. Stewart Wallace, 20, of 57 Helena st., student, who died at the Miami Valley hospital from injuries received when he was struck by a heavy iron beam while working on the new Island park bridge, will be held at 2:30 Monday afternoon at the Forest Avenue Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery. Wallace was assisting in hoisting the beam. He was a graduate of Steele High school and was working with the gang in order to earn money to defray his expenses at Earlham college.

Funeral of Martin Walter was held at Emanuel church, Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock, the remains being interred in Calvary cemetery.

AGED UNDERTAKER CALLED BY DEATH

The death of Michael Walter, 79, Dayton's oldest undertaker, occurred at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the residence, 129 Franklin street.

He had been ill about two years, first with heart trouble and later with indigestion. About two weeks ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis.

Since 1870 Mr. Walter had been engaged in the undertaking business on Franklin street.

Born in Bavaria, Germany, December 17, 1840 Mr. Walter came to Dayton in 1863. He had learned the cabinet-making business from his father, and for seven years he combined cabinet-making with undertaking while in the employ of his brother, Martin. Then he started in business for himself.

He was a director of St. Joseph's Orphans' home and of the Montgomery County Humane society. He also belonged to Emmanuel church, the Undertaking Association of Ohio, Pioneer Verein, Catholic Knights of America, Catholic Knights of Ohio, Knights of St. George, Catholic Geselien Verein, Bavarian society, St. Charles Benevolent society and the Cincinnati Life association.

Three sons and three daughters survive, Leo F. Walter, well known undertaker; Joseph C. and Edward J. Walter, Miss Clara Walter, Sister Francis Anthony, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Catherine Crady of Detroit, Mich.

The funeral will be held Monday morning at 8:15 o'clock from the residence, 129 Franklin street, and at 8:30 o'clock at Emmanuel church. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Philomena C. Walter, wife of Michael Walter, the well-known undertaker, caused a widespread sorrow Saturday morning. Mrs. Walter passed away at her home, 123 Franklin street.

The deceased was well-known at her work in the Catholic Societies of the city and her death is a deep loss. She was born in Cincinnati in 1845 and came to this city in 18??. She was the only child of Conrad and Barbara Streile [sic Steile], with whom she came to Dayton. She was united in marriage with Michael Walter in 1868, and to them were born seven children, six of whom still survive. She is also survived by her husband and two grandchildren.

The funeral will take place Tuesday morning from the residence and later from Emanuel Church. The burial will be at Calvary.

Mrs. Walter was identified with the St. Joseph's Orphan Society, the St. Clair Society, and the St. Elizabeth Society. Each will attend the funeral in body.

Funeral services for August Walters, 78, of 217 Hickory st., who died Saturday morning at his residence, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Westbrock funeral home with burial in Woodland cemetery. A native of Germany, he had lived in Dayton most of his life and is survived by his widow, Ella.

Saturday morning. The body will be sent to Frankford, Ky., for burial. Mrs. Warren's death followed an illness of two weeks. She leaves her husband, Allen B. Warren, a sister and four brothers.

Mary H. Warrick, 76, of 42 Highlander Drive in Miamisburg, died August 6 at Friendly Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mable M. (Templin) and Vernon H. Gebhart, and her sister Dorothy in 1919.

She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Albert (Faye) Martin of Miamisburg; three grandchildren, Mrs. Pam Alsept of Moraine, Mrs. Rose Sandlin of Germantown and Mrs. Kay Cook of DeGraff, Ohio, and six great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services were held August 8 at Hillgrove Cemetery, and a memorial service was held August 9 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Miamisburg.

JOHN C. WATTS' FUNERAL TO BE HELD AT COLUMBUS

Funeral services for John C. Watts, 50, of 123 Siebenthaler av., who died at 1 a.m. Saturday while visiting in Columbus, will be held in that city, Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Wilson residence, 563 Berkley rd., and at 9 a.m. at Holy Rosary church.

Mr. Watts had been associated with the Borden Dairy Co., for more than 30 years, beginning as a route man. For more than 10 years he was sales manager in the Dayton area.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; son, William; daughter, Mrs. Larry Frank; sister, Mrs. Inez Benner; two grandchildren and two brothers, Edgar and Amur, all but Mrs. Watts reside in Columbus.

On Monday, October 20th, 1862, Daniel Dietrich, youngest son of Daniel and Mariana Waymire.

DR. FRED C. WEAVER DIES AFTER A LINGERING ILLNESS

The death of Dr. Fred C. Weaver, 45, occurred at his residence, 213 West Fourth street Saturday morning at 5 o'clock.

The illness which terminated in the death of Dr. Weaver developed four months ago. He had been bedfast since September 8, and there was little hope for his recovery entertained from the beginning. His physician and closest friend, Dr. Hugo Maetke, worked unceasingly to effect his recovery, and he called other physicians into consultation. But while Dr. Weaver's condition had remained practically unchanged for several weeks, it was apparent that he was growing weaker, and that the end was a mere question of time.

Dr. Fred C. Weaver was one of the most successful of the younger physicians of the city. He was an excellent surgeo0n and doctor, and he had a large practice. He was prominent in various organizations, military, civic and fraternal, and a large following of friends will deeply mourn his departure.

He was born in Wooster, Ohio, December 17, 1870, and was the son of Dr. J. M. Weaver, a physician of the old school, who passed away in the fall of 1911, on the same day that his aged wife was called. The father removed to this city after he was appointed chief surgeon of the Soldiers' Home, and brought his family with him. His son, Fred, was 14 years of age when he resigned, and opened offices in Dayton.

Dr. Fred C. Weaver was a student at Ohio Wesleyan university between the years of 1887-1891. Following the completion of his course at Wesleyan, he took his medical training at Miami Medical college of Cincinnati, where he graduated in 1894.

He practiced in Dayton from 1894 until 1899, showing the skilled hand of an older and more experienced physician. He was police surgeon all these years. At the outbreak of the Spanish American war he enlisted, and he was with the United States Volunteers in the Philippines in 1899.

After his return to the United States he married Miss Charlotte Dowling, who passed away in 1907.

Dr. Fred C. Weaver saw a very long service as a member of the medical corps of the Ohio National Guard. He joined when a young man and was with the militia for 28 12 years. He answered the first call for mobilization during the recent trouble with Mexico. He was ranking major of the medical corps of the O.N.G. for a number of years.

Dr. Weaver belonged to all the Masonic lodges, the Blue lodge, the Shrine and the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Elks, the Dayton Bicycle Club, the Loyal Legion, and the Montgomery County Medical society.

He leaves his sister, Miss Mima Weaver, who makes her home in the west, but who is in Dayton at present.

The Elks will hold a lodge of sorrow Sunday evening at 8 o'clock at the late residence. Members will meet in the lodge room at Fourth and Ludlow streets.

The funeral will be held at Masonic temple Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. During the hours of 11 and 2:30 o'clock, the body will lie in state and may be viewed by friends. Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.

Services for William Weaver, 85, a resident of the Veterans Administration center 11 years, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Protestant chapel, VAC. Burial will be in the VAC cemetery. Friends may call at the Hoyne funeral home, 635 Salem av., after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Weaver died at 8:25 a.m. Thursday at Brown hospital, VAC. He was a native of Falmouth, Ky.

Surviving is a nephew, Charles Weaver Jr. of Reading.

Funeral services for Dainty Weaver, 15, of 29 Redland av., who died at 9:20 p.m. Monday at the residence, were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the house. Rev. Lewis was the officiating minister. Burial was in Willowview cemetery.

John C. Webber, aged 57, died at St. Elizabeth's hospital, where he had been a patient since July 2. He is survived by a brother residing at 11 Catherine street. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 at No. 11 Catherine street. Interment in Woodland cemetery.

Anton Wecker, a German pioneer resident of 288 Oak street, passed away Monday morning. The deceased was born in Wurttemberg, Germany, and came to Dayton in 1843. He leaves two daughters and one son to mourn his loss. He was a member of the St. Joseph Orphanage. The funeral services will be held Thursday morning at Emanuel church.

Ida Ann Wedderstrand, 93, one of the oldest residents of the Miami Valley died Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Mary E. Nieman, 641 Oak st. She also is survived by another niece, Mrs. Josie Coffman. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the George Miller funeral home, 862 N. Main st. Friends may view the body at the funeral parlors.

HARRY L. WEIDNER DIES ON VACATION IN CANADA AT 60

Harry L. Weidner, 60, of 734 N. Ninth street, Miamisburg, died Thursday, Aug 25, at 9 p.m. at Niagara Falls, Ont., where he had been hospitalized since stricken by illness there Aug. 14.

Funeral services were Monday afternoon at the Brough Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. H. Grady Shoffner of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church officiating. Prayer was by the Rev. Richard N. Zulauf of the United Church of Christ, Ellerton. Burial was in Hill Grove cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Weidner had left on a trip to Canada, Sunday, Aug. 14, he being stricken by illness at 6:30 p.m. that evening at Niagara Falls, Ont., and confined at Greater Niagara Falls Hospital until time of his death.

Born near Miamisburg son of George Weidner and the late Eliza Weidner, he was a retired employee of the Frigidaire Division of General Motors Corp.

He was a member of Trinity Church, Minerva Lodge, F and AM, Trinity Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and Adoniram Council of Select Masters. He was also a member of Aerie 2306, Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Surviving are his wife, Bessie; and his father, George Weidner, 113 S. Second street.

Word has been received here of the death of Raymond W. Weidner, 49, former resident of Dayton, who died Sunday evening in the Veteran's hospital in Marion, Ind., after a lengthy illness. A veteran of the First World Ware, he was a former employe at the National Cash Register Co., and is survived by his widow, Ruth, Troy, and a daughter, Patricia, a cadet nurse at Good Samaritan hospital. Services were held at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at the National Military Home, Dayton, with burial in the Home cemetery.

Mrs. Emanuel Weidner, who was born in Miamisburg September 23, 1832, and had been a life-long resident of Miamisburg and vicinity, died at 10 o'clock last Friday evening at her home, aged 84 years, 8 months, and 23 days.

She leaves a family of five children-four sons and one daughter: Mrs. John Lucas, Daniel, Harley, Henry, and Harry Weidner; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the Weidner home, and were attended by a large number of friends and relatives. Rev. J. S. Herold, pastor of the Lutheran church conducted the funeral service.

Local friends were shocked Wednesday to hear of the sudden and wholly unexpected death of Louis J. Weigand of this city. A stroke of apoplexy in a hotel at Philadelphia last night was fatal. Mr. Weigand was 48 years of age and had been associated with the Crawford, McGregor Canby Co. for 35 years; for the 1st 16 years he had traveled for this concern. His home in Dayton was at 1207 South Brown street where his mother, Mrs. Margaret Weigand, a brother, John, one sister, Mrs. Carie Zaliquett, reside. A second sister, Mrs. R. L. Ligler of Los Angeles, Cal., also survives.

Mr. Weigand had been making his headquarters in Rochester, N.Y. He was a member of the Dayton Lodge of Elks.

The remains will be brought to this city for burial, arriving at noon Thursday. Burial, it is understood will probably take place on Saturday.

NICHOLAS WEIGAND PASSES TO BEYOND

Nicholas J. Weigand, aged 43, died Thursday evening at 10:30 at the late residence, 25 Edgar street. An extended illness was responsible for this death. He had been bedfast for the past five months.

The deceased was a resident of this city practically all his life and was the son of John and Catherine Weigand. He belonged to the Holy Trinity church. He is survived by his widow, a sister, Mrs. Charles Geis, and a brother, Joseph Weigand.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 7:30 from the residence and at 8 o'clock at the Holy Trinity church. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery.

WEIGEL, Mrs. Leia Katherine, 48, of 47 Fernwood av., died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan hospital after several months' illness. She was born in Temple, Tex. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy church and the PTA. Collins of Montgomery, Ala., and Mrs. Horace Osborne; one brother, Millard Stockman, and 18 grandchildren.

Services for Paul Weimer, 44, of 702 Bolander av., will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday at the Meyer and Boehmer funeral home, 600 Washington st. Burial will be in Willowview cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p. m. Friday. Mr. Weimer died Wednesday night in Miami Valley hospital, where he had been admitted earlier in the day.

He was born in Winfield, Kan., and was a toolmaker at Frigidaire division, General Motors Corp. William C. Weimer, his father, is the only survivor.

After long suffering from rheumatism and accompanying ills, Mr. Andrew Weingartner died yesterday morning at his home, 253 River street, aged 81 years. The sign "A Weingartner," conspicuous at the Central market house for 60 years, has been a land mark for three generations to buyers and sellers, and Mr. Weingartner has retained all of his friends through all of theses years. One by one the old time butchers are passing away, Mr. Jacob Baumheckel and Mr. Frank Baumheckel being probably the only two of them yet living. Mr. Weingartner lived where he died all these years, and has seen the town of Dayton grow to be the great city that it is. None but farmers resided west of the river when he moved there, while now the lands around him re divided into city lots and are occupied in all directions from him by modern homes. He added to his first purchase, built for himself a convenient packing establishment, and a comfortable home. For six or more years he has been mildly afflicted, but would drive into the city to see his friends, until within the last year he has been confined to the house. The family have the sincere sympathy of all their friends.

Chester A. Weinland, 63, of 1321 Schaeffer st., died at 2:45 p. m. Monday in the Dayton State hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Osborn and had lived in Dayton 48 years.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and is survived by a sister, Miss Ida Weinland of Dayton, and two brothers, Charles E. of Dayton and Clarence of Perry, N. Y. He was a retired pressman.

Leon Weinstein, 79, of 2326 Davue circle, died at 11:15 p. m. Monday in St. Elizabeth hospital after an extended illness.

He was a native of Rumania and had lived in Dayton 52 years. He was a member of Beth Abraham synagogue and is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Walter Stern of Dayton; two sons, Edward of Dayton and Meyer of San Francisco, and a grandchild.

DROPPED DEAD IN HIS STORE

Frederick Weireter, residence 133 Potomac street, who had a grocery at the corner of Richard and McClure streets, fell dead in his store last evening about five o'clock from heart disease. Mr. Weireter was at the time waiting on a customer and seemed to be as well as usual, talking and showing no signs of illness. He was going to a coal oil tank to fill a drum when he fell dead. It is said by his daughter, who was in the store at the time, and by the customer, that he did not breathe or move after falling, death was instantaneous. The coroner was called, and after examination declared that he died from natural causes, heart disease.

The deceased leaves a wife and four children�three sons and one daughter. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was known as one of the best citizens. He has lived and done business in that part of the city over twenty years. It is said that he died without an enemy. His family was devoutly attached to him, and his sudden death was a crushing blow to them. The church of which he was a worthy and active member will greatly feel his loss. He was 49 years of age at the time of his death.

Word was received here Saturday of the death early this morning of Irving Weiss, 36, husband of the former Mildred Frank, formerly of Dayton, who died in a Brooklyn hospital after an illness of five weeks. Mrs. Weiss was born in Dayton and left here more than five years ago. She and her husband visited in Dayton early this summer following their marriage in June. Besides the widow surviving are the parents, one sister, and one brother.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Wiersbin, 49, of 114 Volkenand av., who died at 9 p.m. Wednesday at t. Elizabeth hospital, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Frank Riesinger funeral parlors. Burial was made in Woodland cemetery. She leaves her husband, Frank Wiersbin; her daughter, Miss Lottie Wiersbin; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dinkert; a sister and a brother.

At the Central Branch, National Home for D.V.S., on November 13th, 1884, Patrick Welch, aged 40 years, late of Company I, 16th Regiment Illinois Cavalry. Cause of death, exhaustion from acute mania.

Funeral services for Mrs. Adeline Wellbaum, 74, who died at 10:45 p.m. Friday at the residence in Eldorado, were conducted Monday at the Universalist church there. Burial took place in New Madison cemetery.

ESTHER WELLERT, 85, FIRST WOMAN BAILIFF IN OHIO

Mrs. Paul (Esther E.) Ellert (nee Niles), 85, of Elyria, died at Elyria Memorial Hospital Monday following a brief illness. She was born in Cleveland and lived in Elyria most of her life. She graduated from Elyria High School in 1915 and was a past president of the Elyria High School Alumni Association.

In World War II she was a civilian employee for the Air Force and in 1970 was assistant to the administrative head of the Internal Revenue Service in Cleveland.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church 40 years. She was a member of the Faith Circle, past president of the Elizabeth Stevens club and past treasurer of the WSCS of the church.

She was a 60-year, life member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star 165 and had served as grand representative for the state of Ohio to the state of Illinois for the Eastern Star. She was also a past matron and patron of District 4 of the Order of Eastern Star, past treasurer of the local matron and patrons and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

In 1943 she was past worthy high priestess of the White Shrine and was currently surviving as its treasurer.

She was a member of the Grande Cross of Color of the Rainbow Girls, the advisory board of the Rainbow Girls and was a 70-year member of NAQ Club of Elyria.

She had served as chairman for Elyria for the American Cancer Society and was also a member of the Altrusa Club.

She is survived by her husband, Paul C. to whom she had been married 63 years; daughter, Barbara Woodings; two grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Curtis-Scheuffler Funeral Home tonight 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Alva W. Mary Wellmeier, 32 (nee Boll), wife of Herbert Wellmeier, of the firm of Wellmeier and Wellmeier, died at her home 521 Steele avenue, yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. She is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Boll, of this city, her husband, seven sisters and one brother. She was a member of St. Mary's church. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Mrs. Sarah A. Wenger, 49, died Thursday night at 11 o'clock at the residence, 429 Kiefaber street. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence. Burial Woodland cemetery. He leaves his husband and several children.

ILLNESS FATAL TO PELL WENTZ
FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MIAMISBURG MAN TO BE HELD FROM LATE RESIDENCE TODAY

In ill health for several years and confined to his bed for the past three weeks, death shortly after midnight Sunday, claimed one of downtown Miamisburg's most well-liked characters, Pell Wentz.

Mr. Wentz was 70 years of age, having been born in Montgomery county, August 28, 1864. He had been a resident of Miamisburg practically his entire life and for years was employed and various restaurants and cafes where his genial disposition won him many friends and acquaintances. His death was due to complications.

Surviving him are his widow, Sarah Hannah Wentz; a sister, Mrs. William Emert, south of this city; three half-brothers, Harry Wentz, east of Miamisburg, Gus of Dayton, and Louis of Richmond, Ind.; one half-sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Huffman of Frederick, Md.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from the residence at 436 South Main street. Rev. C. H. Starkey of the Lutheran church will officiate and burial will be in Hill Grove cemetery.

Services were being arranged Sunday for Charles A. West, 58, a lifelong resident of Brookville who died late Saturday at Good Samaritan hospital. Mr. West became ill Saturday morning. An employe of Delco Products for the past 25 years, Mr. West was a member of the Brookville EUB church.

Surviving are his wife, Sylvia; a daughter, Mrs. Byron Stupp of Brookville; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Whisler of San Diego, Cal.; a brother, Billy of Phillipsburg, and two grandchildren.

The funeral of Mary Elizabeth Westendorf, wife of Joseph F. Westendorf, who died Monday, will be held Thursday morning from the residence, 126 South Henry street, at 8 o'clock, and at Holy Trinity church at 8:30. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.

Services for Mrs. Ida Westerbeck, 65, of 58 E. Maplewood av., will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Weaver funeral home, 1029 N. Main st.

Burial will be in New Bremen cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Westerbeck died Tuesday while visiting a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Morrow of Snohomish, Wash.

She had been employed at G. M. Delco Products division during the 25 years she had lived in Dayton.

Survivors include two other daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Bryant of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Velva Spencer of Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Henkener of Wapakoneta and Amelia Bambauer of Dayton; one brother, Edward Bamhauer of New Bremen; five-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

John Walter Westerman, 44, formerly of Dayton, died Monday at Kerrville, Tex.

He had been employed here at the Delco Products division, General Motors Corp., and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors: wife, Betty, mother, Mrs. Harry Westerman, and three sons Gary, Todd and John, all of Dayton; two sisters and a brother.

Rev. A. L. Wheatley, 80, minister of the Methodist Episcopal church, died Wednesday at his home in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., where he had held a pastorate for 40 years. Rev. Wheatley was born and reared in Centerville, Montgomery co. Burial will be made Saturday in the Centerville cemetery, following funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at the Robert funeral home. Rev. TAVERN CUSTODIAN DIES AT AGE OF 79

Funeral services for Thomas L. Wheeler, 79, who died Tuesday at 11:15 p.m. at his home, 810 Lorain av., will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday from the residence. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Born in Ashborough, Clay co., Ind., he had been a resident of Dayton for 35 years. For nine years he had been custodian of the Newcom Tavern on Monument av. for the Dayton Historical society.

Surviving are his widow, Josephine; three daughters, Mrs. Melvin Smith, Cleveland, Mrs. W. A. Dallas and Mrs. E. C. Hildebrand, Dayton; three sons, Clifford, Indianapolis, Jesse, Cleveland, and Fred E., Dayton; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral of John Whipp, 78, who died Wednesday night at the residence in Lewisburg, will be conducted at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Lewisburg Reformed church. John Roy Whitacre, 59, an employe [sic] of the photographic laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force base for 28 years, died Sunday night at his residence, 116 Xenia av.

He started work with the government at old McCook field. Born in Virginia, he had been a resident of Dayton and Bellbrook since childhood. He was a member of Otterbein EUB church, Dayton lodge F&AM, and the Modern Woodmen of America.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Purnell of West Carrollton and Mrs. Norma Reider of Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Spahr of Xenia and Mrs. Ollie DeHaven of Dayton; a brother, Walter of Dayton, and three grandchildren.

Sudden Death of a Veteran

Charles White, a member of the Soldier�s Home and in charge of Barracks No. 20, died suddenly yesterday morning in his office of heart failure. He was 67 years of age, and served in the navy in the civil war.

THOMAS J. WHITE, DAYTON MALLEABLE FOREMAN DIES

Thomas J. White, 63, of 323 Oxford avenue, died at noon Thursday after an illness of two years.

Mr. White spent his life in Dayton. Until retirement two years ago he was employed at Dayton Malleable Iron Works, where he had been a foreman more than 40 years. He was a member of Corpus Christi church.

Surviving are his wife, Nellie (nee Kelleher); two sons, Thomas and Joseph; one daughter, Miss Marian White; one sister, Mrs. Otis Reichelderfer, of Van Wert; three brothers; Charles, of Dayton; Robert E., of Columbus, and Walter, of Helena, Mont.

FLORA WHITMAN, 87, DIED FRI., FORMER RESIDENT

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, for Mrs. Flora M. Whitman, 87, of Huffman Avenue, Dayton, a former resident of here, were 2 p.m. Monday, at the Brough Memorial Funeral Home.

The Rev. Dr. H. Grady Schoffner, pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ, officiated. Interment was made in Hill Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Whitman, a native and life-long resident of Montgomery County, died Friday afternoon at her residence. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

VETERAN OF WAR TAKES POISON; DIES

William J. Wibley, 28, 128 Franklin street, took his life Tuesday afternoon by drinking sugar of lead, according to a police report. He was found in an unconscious condition by Mrs. Nina Gluth who conducts the rooming house, after the door to his room had been broken down.

The dead man is said to have been despondent because he was gassed while a soldier in France, while serving with Company D, 38th U.S. Infantry, 3rd division, at Chateau Thierry. He died at Miami Valley hospital shortly after 9 o'clock after being taken to the institution in the police ambulance.

Wibley was born at Springfield and came to Dayton four months ago. He was employed for a time at the N.C.R. and Krogers' Grocery company. His father, John Wibley, lives at Marysville. Coroner E. O. Willoughby viewed the body and relatives have been notified.

Services for Thomas F. Wiles, 65, of 40 W. Mumma av., will be conducted at 8:30 a. m. Saturday at the Hoyne funeral home, 635 Salem av., and at a requiem high mass at 9 a. m. at Corpus Christi church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p. m. Friday. Mr. Wiles died Thursday at his residence.

Funeral services for Loretta Willett, 51, who died Wednesday morning will be held tomorrow morning at 7:30 o'clock from the residence, 101 Santa Clara avenue and 8 o'clock from the Corpus Christi church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Death came Saturday afternoon late to the Willard home on Clay street and closed the life of the venerable mother, Mrs. Sarah E. Willard, 82, widow of the late Frank Willard. The deceased had been ill for some time and death was not unexpected. Her long life is a history of good deeds and the practice of womanly virtues. A son, Charles A. Willard passed away in November last. Two children, a son and daughter, S. Douglas Willard and Mary E. Willard, the latter a teacher in the public schools, survive their mother. The funeral will take place Tuesday morning from the residence, 119 South Clay street, and the funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart church of which the deceased was a devoted member.

WOMAN DIES AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS

Mrs. Rose C. Williams (nee Guggenbiller) wife of Walter Williams, 21 Williams street, died Sunday morning, shortly after 10 o'clock at her home, 650 St. Joseph's avenue. Her death came after an illness of eleven weeks.

Mrs. Williams was born at Ft. Recovery, Ohio, and lived there until about seven years ago. Besides her husband and year-old daughter, Grace, she leaves her father, Joseph Guggenbiller, of Ft. Recovery, a sister and three brothers.

The funeral will be held at 8 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Anthony's church. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.

William L. Wilson, 84, Civil Veteran, died Sunday at the National Military Home. The body was sent to Springfield for burial.

THE DEATH OF A MOTHER IN ISRAEL

Mrs. Rebecca Winder, wife of J. H. Winder, of West Second street, died at the family residence yesterday at 4:30 a.m., at the age of 78 years. With her husband she came to this city from Maryland in 1835; they have since resided here, except five years spent in Indiana. For nearly thirty-four years they have lived in the same house at No. 43 West Second street. Fifty-six years ago she was married to Mr. Winder, who survives her. She leaves three children--two sons, Captain J. H. Winder, Silas D. Winder and Mrs. Julia A Snell. For many years she has been a worthy and useful member of the Christian Church, at the corner of Sixth and Brown streets. She had a large circle of acquaintances by whom she was greatly esteemed. Her death is thought to have been the result of an accident which occurred over four years ago, by being thrown, with her husband, from a spring wagon, near Polk's Church, a few miles north of the city. Her head was injured by the fall. She never recovered from the effects of the accident. It is a remarkable fact that this is the first death that has occurred in the family.

Susanna Winget, 63, 962 Washington street, died at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the residence. Five daughters and two sons survive. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

Winkler, Wilber (Wink), Jr. age 47 of 5720 Salem Bend Dr. died suddenly Thursday afternoon at his residence. He was a mechanic for the City of Dayton Fire Dept. for 10 years. The funeral of Moses Wogamon last Friday, notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, was largely attended, there being more than 50 vehicles in the processions. Mr. Wogamon had filled the office of Justice of the Peace in Madison Township for twenty-one successive years, and had, just prior to his death, been elected to the same office for another term. He was a kind and affectionate father and husband, a good neighbor and a genial companion to all whom he associated. His death was deeply regretted by all who knew him.

Maude Irene Wolfe died Friday at her residence, 3105 Salem av. Surviving are her husband, Stanton E. Wolfe; one son, Ralph S., and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Newton Lyday funeral home, 221 Salem av. Burial Woodland cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday.

Funeral services for Arthur Wolford, 43, who died Sunday morning at the Miami Valley hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the residence, 229 Maplewood av. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. He leaves his widow, Eleanor; his son, Richard E. Wolford; his mother, Mrs. Stella Keyes, and his brother, Harry Wolford, of Springfield, O.

The funeral of August Wollenhaupt, 71 years old, who died Thursday morning after an illness of two weeks, will be held Monday afternoon from his late residence, 241 South High street. Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.

Death claimed Elmer Wombold, 74, of 618 Edison st., at his residence at 6 p.m. Wednesday. He had resided in Dayton for many years and had a wide acquaintance. He was interested in politics and held a political office in Montgomery co. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Stull and Mrs. Owen Hacker of Dayton and Mrs. Florence Wogaman of West Alexandria; three sons, Harley J. and Harry A., Dayton, and Clarence C., Los Angeles, Cal.; three sisters and one brother; 22 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at the residence at 1:30 p.m. and at the First Brethren church at 2 p.m. by Rev. R. B. Bernard. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Capt. A. P. Woodruff was buried with the usual honors by his comrades at the Soldiers' Home yesterday. The funeral service took place in the Home Church, Rev. Father Carey, of this city, officiating. The full choir of St. Joseph's Church was present and assisted in the Mass.

Funeral services for Lana Louise Woods, 2-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Woods of 1680 Howell av., who was found dead in bed at 348 Mercer av. Sunday morning, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McLinn funeral chapel, 1130 Germantown st. Burial will be in Greencastle cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 6 p.m. Monday. Coroner A. P. McDonald said the death was caused from pneumonia. Other survivors are a sister, Pamela and two brothers, Roger and Davis.

The body of Mrs. Mildred Woods, 29 of 223 Klee court, who ended her life Tuesday night, was taken to Lynchburg, O. for burial Wednesday.

Woodward, Dorothy C., age 69, of 1829 Patterson Rd., died Tuesday after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, Thomas and 1 son, Kenneth; 1 sister, Mrs. Lucille Anderson of Dayton; 1 brother, Raymond Sherry of Lubbock, Texas; 1 grandson and 2 granddaughters, nieces and nephews. Private funeral services.

Edgar Wyatt, aged 19, died Wednesday evening at Miami Valley hospital after a lingering illness. He is survived by his aunt, Mrs. Mary Thomas, of 130 Ziegler street, who reared him, and a number of other relatives living in Springfield. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

The funeral of Edgar Wyatt, colored, whose death occurred at Miami Valley hospital Wednesday evening will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Roller's undertaking establishment and the remains will be interred in Woodland cemetery.

The remains of Mrs. Rhoda Jane Wycoff, who passed away at her residence, 417 South Broadway, were interred at Middletown Thursday afternoon. A number of Dayton relatives and friends attended the funeral. The deceased was one of the pioneer residents of Middletown and leaves many relatives in that city.

Funeral services for Harry T. Wysong, 52, who died Saturday at 11 p.m. at the home of R. M. Stokes of Union rd. and the Eaton pike, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stokes residence. Rev. R. D. Barnard and Rev. U. A. Gearhart will officiate. Burial will be made in Reisinger's mausoleum.

During the past two years Wysong had suffered from paralysis. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Adeline Wysong; his mother, Mrs. Andrew Shirely; two brothers, Thomas of Dayton and Roy of Miamisburg, and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Wysong of Liberty.
