CHARLES RABOLD OF SHEEHAN RD. DIES AT AGE 73

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Brough Memorial Funeral Home, for Charles A. Rabold, 73, of 1370 Sheehan Road, Centerville, who died unexpectedly Friday noon.

The Rev. Oliver Arne Rajala pastor of the First Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was in Hill Grove cemetery.

A life-long area resident, Mr. Rabold was a retired farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Mabel; a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Silver of Centerville; five sons, Esker, Norman, Donald, and Charles E. Rabold, all of Centerville, and Dale of Spring Valley; a brother, John Rabold, Miamisburg; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Sprague, Bellefontaine, and Mrs. Cordie Urschel, Miamisburg; and two grandchildren.

SUDDEN DEATH

Monday afternoon at 3:30 Frank Rabold, well known farmer living east of town suddenly expired as he was seated on a wagon, en route home. The deceased was with his son Robert, 14, and was hauling coal and had started out Central Avenue for home. Soon after crossing the Big Four Tracks, he fell over, and expired within a few minutes.

Franklin Jacob Rabold, son of John & Sarah (Weiser) Rabold, was born in the state of Pennsylvania, in Newmanstown, Lebanon County, on the 20th day of April in the year of our Lord 1852, and came to the state of Ohio, when he was 18 years, 11 months and 15 days of age - in the year 1871, and settled down in Whitfield.

Died December 18, 1916 - aged 64 years, 7 months 28 days.

He was given to the Lord in baptism in infancy. He was confirmed at Stouchsburg, Berks County, Pa., at 17 years of age by Rev. Charles Linebaugh. Joined in marriage to Lydia A. Fox on the 4th day of July 1882. She died the 3rd day of September in 1885. There were two children by this union, one son, John Alexander and one daughter, Mrs. John Urschel, both of this vicinity. And then he was united in marriage to Clara Lavina Gebhart on the 28th day of November, 1889. This union was blessed with five children, two sons, Charles Amos and Robert Henry; and three daughters, Lillian and Irene of this vicinity, and Mrs. Clarence Mahan of Centerville.

He is survived by seven children and his wife, two brothers, William & Harry Rabold, three sisters, Mrs. Samuel Schell, Mrs. Lewis Gebhart, and Mrs. Charles Maxwell, and thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral Thursday afternoon at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock, Rev. J.S. Herold officiating.

Funeral services were conducted today (Wednesday) at the Brough Memorial Funeral Home for Mrs. Mabel L. (Lulu) Rabold, age 76 of 10370 Sheehan Road, Centerville. Mrs. Rabold died Sunday morning at Kettering Memorial Hospital. She was a life long area resident and was the widow of Charles A. Rabold, who died in 1964.

Mrs. Rabold is survived by one daughter, Mrs. F. M. (Pauline) Silver of Centerville; fine sons, Esker of Miamisburg, Norman, Don and Charles, all of Centerville, Dale of Spring Valley; and four grandchildren.

Burial was at Hillgrove Cemetery.

Norman R. Rabold, 57, of 1037 Sheehan Road near Centerville, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon.

Mr. Rabold was a farmer and a life-long resident of the Miamisburg area.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Brough Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Hillgrove cemetery. Rev. Oliver Rajala will be in charge of services.

Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday (today) from 4 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m.

Surviving Mr. Rabold is a sister, Mrs. Francis (Pauline) Silver, Centerville and four brothers, Esker of Miamisburg, Donald and Charles of Centerville and Dale of Xenia.

Funeral rites for Mollie Radigan, 69, who died at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the home of her niece, Mrs. George BIHR, 819 Carlisle av., will be conducted Thursday morning at St. Joseph's church. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline L. Raffel, 81, who died Wednesday at her residence, 126 Allen st., were to be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Morris Sons funeral home, 1809 E. Third st. Burial was to be in Beavertown cemetery.

Died February 8, 1877, Mrs. Maria Rankin aged eighty-three years and four months. Mrs. Rankin was born in Augusta county, Virginia, October 9, 1793. She was a daughter of Major David Golloday, and was twice married. Her first husband was Rev. John J. T. Mills, a minister of the M. E. Church, one of the most eminent of Kentucky�s educators, and at the time of his death, the Professor of Greek Literature in the academy of Harrodsburg, Kentucky. The children by this marriage were nine, four sons and five daughters; two sons and two daughters are still surviving and are well known in this place. Wm. M. Mills, formerly of this place, is now a citizen of Dayton.

Mrs. Rankin�s second husband, Richard Rankin, lived but a short time after their marriage, but departed, leaving the reputation of a very godly man.

Mrs. Rankin�s religious history is in some respects remarkable. When but 11 years of age she connected herself by profession with the Methodist Church; so that at the time of her death she had been a servant of Christ for seventy-two years. What a noble record�nearly three-quarters of a century of faithful and zealous cross-bearing. Surely she shall shine as one of the brightest stars in the firmament of heaven.

Mrs. Rankin in the latter part of her life spoke frequently of her readiness and willingness to depart and be with Christ. Just before her death she said her confidence in her Redeemer was unshaken, and, referring to a vision she had had two years before, she exclaimed that the gate stood open for her day and night.

The members of the Methodist Church of this place, to which she had belonged for more than twenty-four years, will not soon forget this aged mother in Israel, always so regular and so faithful in the discharge of her christian duties. �Middletown (O.) Journal, J.W.C.

Adam S. Rasor, 71, died at 10:25 Sunday night at the late residence in Ft. McKinley. He had been ill seven weeks. The funeral will be conducted at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the residence, and burial will be made in Arlington cemetery.

MRS. MARY E. RATLIFF - The funeral of Mrs. Mary Ratliff, widow of Joseph M. Ratliff, who died in Cincinnati Monday will be held at 2 p. m. at the Mack Johnson funeral parlors in Cincinnati, Wednesday.

Mrs. Mary Ready, widow of Patrick Ready, passed away in her 70th year at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Hiles, Bruen and Ludlow streets, Monday morning at 7:30. Her health had been failing for the past two years, but she took to her bed only three days before the end.

Mrs. Ready was one of the best known of the Irish American residents of this city, since she had lived in Dayton for almost half a century. Most of this period she dwelt in the vicinity bounded by Bruen and Ludlow streets, where so many of the substantial Irish citizens of the city have lived and still reside. Born in County Clare, Ireland, Mrs. Ready came to this country at the age of 19 years. For a time she lived in towns surrounding Dayton, but removed here about 50 years ago. Her marriage to Patrick Ready occurred when she was 21 years old. She was a member of the Sacred Heart church since its organization, and lived a life that was consistent with the teachings of her church.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Edward Althoff, Mrs. John Hughes, Mrs. Edward Hiles, Mrs. Edward Wilcox of New Bedford, Mass.; one son, John Ready, and eight grandchildren.

At the Central Branch, National Home for D.V.S., May 31, 1892, Albert R. Ream, late of Company D, 131st Regiment Ohio. Cause of death, chronic meningitis.

The funeral of Jacob Ream was held at 8 o'clock Sunday morning at the late residence on Garst street. The body was sent to Tippecanoe for burial.

William L. Ream, 69, of 107 S. Findlay st., died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in Cincinnati, O. Mr. Ream was a native of Harden co. and had resided in Dayton for 30 years, where he formerly was employed by the Delco Products Corp. He was a member of Holy Family church. Surviving are the widow, Anna; one daughter, E. E. Weber, Cincinnati; two grandchildren and one brother, O. K. Ream, Zanesville.

Remains of Mrs. Christine Rebmann, 83, who died Wednesday morning at the residence, 2602 Home av., were interred in Memorial Park cemetery Saturday afternoon, following the funeral at 1:30 from the residence and at 2:30 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church.

The funeral of Samuel C. Rector, 63, who died Sunday afternoon, was held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Fairfield M.E. church. Burial was in Fairfield cemetery.

Funeral services for Richard Franklin Redman, 54, who died Friday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Etta Lowery, 5663 Markey rd., will be held at 8:15 a.m. Monday at the Hoyne funeral home and at 9 a.m. at St. Rita's church, Shiloh. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the funeral home. A native of Hodgensville, Ky., he had resided in Dayton for 38 years and was a member of St. Rita's church. Surviving are five sisters, Mary and Lena Redman of Chicago, Mrs. Anna Lundy of Cricago [sic], Minnie Redman and Mrs. Lowery both of Dayton. At the time of his death he resided with his sister, Mrs. Lowery.

The infant daughter of Richard and Flora Reed, 16 Fleetwood av., died at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning at the residence. Burial was made Thursday in Willowview cemetery.

DEATH OCCURS IN LOCAL HOSPITAL

The death of Miss Mabel Reed occurred Saturday evening at St. Elizabeth hospital, and the body will be taken to Hanover, Ind., for funeral and burial.

Miss Reed had been making her home with Mrs. J. D. Knerr, 314 South Robert boulevard, for some time.

Alexander D. Reeder, 86, of 100 Berea pl., Parkside homes, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday in Good Samaritan hospital after an illness of two years. A native of Franklin, he had lived in Dayton about 20 years. He is survived by a brother, Clark R., also of Dayton.

Funeral services of Mrs. Mary J. Reese, who died July 31 at Greencastle, Ind., after a short illness, will be held Monday morning at the residence, 31 Green st., and at the Sacred Heart church later. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Ella Redelle, who died in Detroit Tuesday, was held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of Mrs. Joseph Herzog, 257 East Wyoming street. Burial in Woodland cemetery.

Robert E. Neff [sic], 35, of the Biltmore hotel, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday in Miami Valley hospital. An aeronautical engineer, he was associated with Consolidated Vultee Corp., and had been in Dayton two months. The body will be sent to Bagley, Minn. for services and burial. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; his father, E. H. Reff, and a daughter, Elizabeth Jane, all of Bagley.

Mrs. Anna Regan, 87, of R.R.10, died at 9:05 a.m. Saturday at the residence after a long illness. A native of Dayton, she had lived here most of her life. She was a member of St. Joseph church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. E. K. Blakely of Dayton; three grandchildren; several nieces, and one nephew.

DR. S. W. REICHARD RITES TUESDAY; HELD VA POST

Funeral services for Dr. Simon W. Reichard, chief medical officer of the Veterans Administration sub-regional office at 11 W. Monument av., who died Saturday at Brown hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Whitmer Brothers funeral home, 239 N. Ludlow st., by Rev. Robert B. Foster. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery.

Dr. Reichard lived at 78 Fountain av. He also was a general practitioner with offices at 5220 W. Third st. and was a member of the staffs at Good Samaritan and St. Elizabeth hospitals.

A native of Mauch Chunk, Pa., Dr. Reichard had lived in Dayton since 1936. He was a member of Grace Methodist church; Masonic lodge of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; Scottish Rite, Valley of Detroit; Antioch Temple Shrine; American Legion of the V.A. post; Veterans of Foreign Wars of Erie, Pa., and the Montgomery County Medical association.

Surviving are his wife, Estelle C.; four daughters, Nancy of Dayton, Mrs. M. V. Clark and Mrs. W. J. Halsey of Erie and Mrs. Lois R. Felt of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. N. R. Craig of Wilkes-Barre, and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday.

Services for Mrs. Blanche E. Reidy, 76, of 701 Kolping av., will be conducted at 9:30 a. m. Saturday at the Hoyne funeral home, 1817 E. Third st., and at a requiem high mass at 10 a. m. in St. Anthony church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p. m. Friday.

Mrs. Reidy died Wednesday at her residence.

MOTION OF ELEVATOR AFFECTED HIS HEART

At the entrance to the elevator in the court house Tuesday stood the chair of Peter Reinhard, draped in black and an American flag, while to the rear stood a sombre pedestal surmounted by a fern in honor to the man, who for 10 years ran the elevator and who died shortly after last midnight of heart disease. The news of the death of Peter Reinhard was a shock to his friends around the courthouse. He retired Monday night at 11 o'clock in his usual health, but at midnight called his daughter, Mrs. John I. Brandenburg, to his bedside. She observed at once his condition and summoned a physician. In the meantime he was assisted to a chair where he died in three minutes. The physician arrived too late.

The deceased was 68 years of age and made his home with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John I. Brandenburg, 1411 South Brown street. His wife died 12 years ago and two daughters and one son, all married, live in Dayton. He was one of Dayton's pioneer barbers but for the past decade was elevator man in the court house. He frequently complained that the motion of the elevator affected his heart and to this is likely due his sudden demise. In the elevator car Peter gave expression to his admiration for beauty as the sides of the cab are decorated with many pictures of beautiful and comely women. These pictures, chaste and pretty, were the source of much pride to the man who spent his day riding up and down in the temple of justice.

His face will be missed as he was a familiar figure with those who frequent the courthouse and all who knew him were his friends.

Mrs. Anna Reynolds, 63, died Thursday at 5:30 a. m. at the residence, 119 N. Harbine st., after an illness of one month.

She was born in Dayton and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church on Wayne av.

She leaves four sons, Henry C., Charles R., John C. and Joseph D. Reynolds of Dayton; one daughter, Mrs. Louis Dieterle of Dayton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a. m. Saturday at the Alspach funeral parlors. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Funeral rites for Matilda Jane Reynolds, 77, who died Wednesday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Virgil R. Ott, 926 N. Gettysburg av., will be conducted Sunday at 2 p. m. at Humphrey's funeral parlor in Urbana, O., where burial will be made.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen F. Rhoden, wife of Walter Rhoden, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at her late home, 239 Green street. Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.

Funeral services for Charles Rice, 61, who died Saturday evening at his home, 2108 Salem av., will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Third Street Baptist church, Rev., R. C. Carson officiating. Burial will be Memorial Park cemetery.

A retired accountant and office manager, Rice had formerly been associated with the Roehm-Roehm Co. for 35 years. He had been ill for the past several months. Born in Lewisburg, he moved to Dayton at the age of 19, and was a charter member and deacon of the Third Street Baptist church.

Surviving are his widow, Zana; two daughters, Glenna Rice and Mrs. W. S. Early, Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. L. C. Hobensack, Dayton, and Mrs. Charles Helmer, Rochester, N.Y., and a brother, Edwin, Lewisburg. The body may be viewed at the Louis F. Berk funeral home, 42 Linden av., Monday night.

Rice, Mrs. Lela, age 69, of 1839 W. Fifth St., died Monday. A native of Union, S. C., she resided in Dayton 50 years, was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Veterans Administration Center. Funeral services for Ben Riley, 65, of 429 Perry st. who died Friday in St. Elizabeth hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Harris Funeral home, 49 Linden av. with burial in Woodland cemetery. The funeral of Mrs. Sarah E. Riley, who died at 89:30 Monday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Molly Monbeck, 200 S. Broadway, was conducted at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the residence. Rev. W. S. Bell, pastor of the First Brethren church officiated. Burial was in Woodland cemetery. Her daughter and two sons survive.

Funeral services for Miss Florence M. Rinch [sic], 31, who died Tuesday at the Victoria hospital in Miami, Fla., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the West Alexandria Lutheran church. Burial will be made in Sugar Grove cemetery. The young woman lived in West Alexandria most of her life.

C. F. Rinehart died Saturday evening at 10 o'clock, in Cincinnati, of consumption, aged 25 years. The remains will arrive at the Union Depot this morning at 10:30. Funeral Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the residence of Henry Hoskot, 205 East McLain street. Interment, Woodland. Friends are invited.

Mrs. Ida Mae Rinehart, 81, died at 2 p.m. Friday in Leesburg.� She is survived by three sons, William W., George and Audrey Stuck, all of Dayton; Mrs. Miriam Camite of Tennessee and Mrs. Grace Wolf of Dayton.

DISTRESSING SUICIDE
An Old Man Shoots Himself Through the Heart

The citizens of Miami City were thrown into a high state of excitement yesterday evening, about half-past five o'clock, by Dr. Ledger [Leger] Ritty shooting himself through the heart. When found the Dr. had not breathed his last, but had fallen back on his head, with his feet barely touching the floor, and the blood flowing from his nose and mouth. A large sized Smith & Wesson revolver was lying on the stand beside his bed with one of its chambers empty, the bed clothing being on fire, when the persons who heard the report of the pistol, entered the room. There is no cause assigned for this terrible deed, other than that the Doctor had appeared very much depressed in spirits for several days past, saying quite frequently that he wished he was dead; that life was a burden, and that he knew he would never be well again. Thursday afternoon he sat out on the grass for several hours, complaining of asthma and erysipelas. Yesterday, just previous to the act of taking his life, he eat his supper and walked out for a few moments, and on his return to the house, it is supposed, he proceeded to his room, sat down on the edge of the bed, determined to end his life. Deceased was an estimable citizen. He was born in France, April 1st, 1792, and was in his 78th year. He left a wife, and four sons. The funeral will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. at the United Brethern Church, Ninth Ward. The Coroner's Jury rendered a verdict of suicide.

Charles H. Robbins passed away at the St. Elizabeth hospital after a prolonged illness of paralysis. He was 65 years of age and was a resident of Broadway, Union county, this state. He was a brother-in-law of Dr. J. E. Lowes of this city. The deceased had been ill for some five years with paralysis. The remains will be taken to Union county for burial on Thursday morning. He leaves six sons.

The body of John Robbins, 80, Civil War veteran and member of Co. A, Independent Ohio Cavalry, who died Tuesday at the National Soldiers' home was taken to Milford Center by Undertaker Merle Alspach Thursday. He leaves his son, Edward, of Columbus.

FORMER DAYTON YOUTH DIES IN PRISON CAMP

Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Roberts, formerly of Dayton have received word of the death of their son, Pfc. James J. Roberts, who died in a North Korean prison camp, Sept. 10, 1950.

Now residing in Lexington, Ky., the Roberts had resided at 508 Valley st., in Dayton.

Roberts, 22 years old at the time of death, was capture in the fighting of Laejon on July 20, 1950, his parents said. He had been listed as missing in action since that date.

The Department of Defense told his parents that their son's fate had been learned by information received from returning American prisoners. Soon after being taken into the prison camp, Roberts became ill and died, the message said.

He was a member of the 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Division and had jointed [sic] the Army Dec. 10, 1947.

He attended high school in Dayton and was a member of the Trinity Methodist church of Dayton.

Survivors besides his parents are a sister, Carolyn Sue, and a brother, Audrey Lee Jr.

Funeral services for R. C. Roberts, 75, who died Saturday at the residence in West Carrollton, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in West Carrollton cemetery.

He was widely known in West Carrollton as a florist and vegetable grower. West Carrollton had been his home for 33 years. He was born and spent his early life in Chillicothe.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. I. E. Gaver of Dayton and Mrs. J. R. McNabb of West Carrollton. There is also a brother. His wife preceded him in death less than two years ago.

Private services will be conducted for Harry B. Robinson, 75, of 112 Baltimore st., at 1:30 p. m. Friday at Whitmer Brothers funeral home, 237 N. Ludlow st. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p. m. Thursday.

Mr. Robinson, a retired Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Co. telegraph operator, died Tuesday.

RODERER, Ethel G., age 84, a Kettering resident, passed away Monday at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Bernard C. Roderer in 1981. She is survived by 1 sister, Carmen Beymer of Palo Alto, Calif.; 1 brother, Ralph Denlinger of Palm Beach, Fla.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Victor (Emma) Roderer of Dayton; Barney (Mildred) Herbst of Kettering and a faithful companion, Pearl Hollifield of Dayton; and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of The Belmont United Methodist Church. Funeral services 1 p.m. Wednesay [sic] from The Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. Pastor Richard P. Coad officiating. The funeral of James H. Rockefellow, 70, who died Wednesday, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence. Burial will be made in Shiloh Springs cemetery. He leaves his wife, one son and one granddaughter.

RODERER, Dr. Bernard C., at 79, of 4640 Silverwood Dr., Kettering passed away Friday at Miami Valley Hospital. He is survived by his wife Ethel G. Roderer; 1 sister Mrs. Mildred M. CAROL SUE RODGERS � Carol Sue Rodgers, two-month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Rodgers of 1827 Wiles dr., died at St. Elizabeth hospital Tuesday. She is also survived by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oza Rodgers and Mrs. Hazel Ware, and a brother, William T., all of Dayton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Graham funeral home, 1850 Wayne av., by Rev. Ambrose Aegerter. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery. Rogge, Louise Hutchings, age 71, of 1108 Acorn Dr., Oakwood passed away Friday. She is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. Caroline R. Kimes, 3 sons, Jack E., Robert H. and Bruce H. Rogge, 1 sister, Mrs. Helen H. Finley, 12 grandchildren. Graveside services 2 p.m. Tuesday in Woodland Cemetery. No visitation. Mrs. Eliza Jane Rohrer, widow of John Rohrer, died last Saturday at the home of her nephew, Walter Morris, on Montgomery street. She was 76 years old, and had been preceded in death by her husband and son, W. C. Rohrer. Mrs. Rohrer had been in failing health for the past year, and but recently returned from the hospital at Dayton. She was a devoted member of the Methodist church, and for years was an active worker in the various activities of the church.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the M. E. church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. T. W. Salt, D. D., assisted by Rev. Mr. Radley, a nephew, who is a pastor of M. E. church at Cincinnati. A quartet, composed of Mrs. Andrews, Miss. Mills, Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Lantz, rendered beautiful music. Interment at Gratis, O., where her husband and son are buried.

Edward F. Ronicker, 93, a printer by trade and a lover of classical music, died at 12:30 a. m. Thursday in the home of his son, Dr. Larry Ronicker at Frederick pike and Garland rd., near Union.

Mr. Ronicker had lived with his son, Dr. Harry Ronicker, an optometrist, southeast of West Milton for the last 27 years after he retired from his trade about 30 years ago.

Throughout his adult life, the elder Ronicker had obtained great satisfaction in listening to all the great operas and was one of the most ardent patrons of the Dayton Philharmonic orchestra and the Cincinnati Zoo opera.

Some years ago he gave to the Dayton Public library his collection of bound programs together with other memorabilia which dealt with classical music and clippings on events in the lives of great opera performers. In bound volumes he had collected all the programs played by the Dayton Symphony from 1910 to 1931. He had the Civic Music league programs from 1914 to 1932, and the programs of the Dayton Artist series, Cincinnati Zoo opera, and the New York Philharmonic symphony.

In his later years, Mr. Ronicker also had another avocation. That was chopping wood which he did regularly up until about two years ago.

In his trade, Mr. Ronicker worked as a printer for the National Cash Register Co., at the Johnson-Watson Co., on Dayton newspapers and for a number of other commercial printing firms. he was a member of Dayton Local No. 57, International Typographical union for 62 years.

Funeral services of Amos Roop, who died Sunday evening, will be held Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock at the home of his sister Mrs. C. Ridenour, five miles south of Dayton on the Lebanon pike. Rev. Dr. Henderson will officiate. Interment will be made in Zion cemetery.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. for Mrs. Lida Elsie Rose, 37, a Wright Field office employe for the past 13 years, and who died Saturday at Miami Valley hospital. The rites were held at the Rose home, 60 S. Garland av.

Funeral services for Joseph Rosenkrantz, 75, a resident of Dayton 60 years, who died Friday at The Siena, will be conducted at 7:30 a.m. Monday at the Westbrock funeral home, 1712 Wayne av., and at 8:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary church. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

ROSSELL--Hiram E. Rossell, at his residence, 2613 East Fifth st., at 3:45 Tuesday afternoon, of pneumonia, aged 48 years and 3 months. Services for William Russell, 75, father of James Russell, former Dayton workhouse superintendent, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hoyne funeral home, 1817 E. Third st. Mr. Russell, a retired city street department employe, died Thursday at Miami Valley hospital. A native of Russell county, Kentucky, he had been a Dayton resident 23 years, and was a member of the First Christian church. Survivors include the son, now residing in Addison, Mich.; five sisters, Mrs. Lucy Beard of Campbellsville, Ky., Mrs. Ollie Walker of Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Pinalee Williams and Mrs. Maddie Watson, both of Knifley, Ky., and Mrs. Nannie Barbee of Columbia, Ky., and five grandsons. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.

Charles E. Ruth, 64, of 1137 Phillips Ave., died Thursday. He was an inspector at the Frigidair [sic] division, General Motors Corp., and a veteran of World War I. Survivors: wife, Maude; a son, Charle F. of Dayton; two sisters and four brothers.

Mrs. Mary B. Rutherford died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. F. Calloway, Lytle rd. Funeral Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton funeral chapel at Detroit. Burial in Detroit. Survived by her daughter and three grandchildren, Dick, Ross and Lee Calloway.

DEATH SUMMONS MRS. C. A. RYAN
Wife of Local Physician Had Been Ill Many Months

Mrs. Elizabeth Ryan (nee Nicklin), 24, wife of Dr. Charles A. Ryan, died Thursday morning at 3:15 o'clock at the residence, 72 McClure st. She had been in poor health for a year and a half.

Mrs. Ryan was born in Staffordshire, England, Nov. 26, 1897, and came to this country when she was eight years old. She lived for a time in Trenton, N. J., after which she moved to West Virginia. She received her training as a nurse at a hospital in Wheeling. During the war she served as a Red Cross nurse at the Biltmore, N. C. cantonment. Her marriage to Dr. Charles A. Ryan was celebrated in this city about two and a half years ago.

She leaves her husband and her father, Arthur Nicklin, of Clarksburg, W. Va. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

The funeral of John H. Ryan, well-known retired grocer, who died Monday, was held Thursday morning at 7:30 o'clock from the residence, 17 Maryland avenue, and at 8 o'clock at the St. Joseph's church. Burial was made in Calvary cemetery.
