VETERAN, 102 YEARS OLD, IS DEAD AT HOME

The funeral of Charles Quinn, who died at the age of 102 years at the Soldiers' Home hospital, Tuesday, was conducted Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home chapel. Burial was made in the Home cemetery.

Charles Quinn was 102 years old, according to the records of the Soldiers' Home. He claimed to be 75 years of age when he came to the home from Canton, Ohio, in 1889. He appeared to be a man of considerable years at the time, and there was no occasion to dispute his word.

He had lived at the Soldiers' Home for nearly 29 years. He enjoyed fairly good health until two years ago when he became so enfeebled that it was necessary for him to be at the hospital all the time.

He was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, coming to this country when he was a comparatively young man. He lived in Pennsylvania at first, and enlisted in Co. H, 111th Pennsylvania Infantry, during the Civil war. Later he moved to Canton, and from there to Dayton. He leaves no relatives that the Soldiers' Home authorities have been able to discover.
