AUTO VICTIM'S RITES THURSDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Kalt, 69, of 1816 Huffman av., who died in Miami Valley hospital at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday of injuries suffered Saturday night when she was struck by an auto at Fifth and Main sts., will be conducted at the Moore undertaking establishment, 2318 E. Third st., at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and at Corpus Christi church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Springfield.

Mrs. Kalt, the 45th traffic victim of the year, was caught in a tangle of autos when the light changed while she was crossing the intersection. Police said she was knocked down by a car driven by Joseph Hafner of 310 Ashwood av. Accident Investigator Clarence Colville, working under the direction of inspector T. C. Grundish of the traffic bureau, Wednesday was planning a thorough investigation.

Mrs. Kalt was the widow of A. J. Kalt, who died about 10 years ago. She was a native of Springfield and had lived in Dayton for 30 years. Mr. Kalt for many years was connected with the DeWeese and Bidleman department store, which was located on Third st. near Main.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. William Stoessel of Dayton and Mrs. George Stephan of Urbana; three brothers, A. C. Miller of Urbana, Walter Miller of Springfield and F. R. Miller of Troy, and several nieces and nephews.

DAUGHTER FOLLOWS MOTHER IN DEATH

Within a few days after the death of her mother, Mrs. George W. Kalter died, also of pneumonia, at her home, 28 Maple street, Thursday morning at 3:30 o'clock. The mother, Mrs. Lydia Hoffman passed away last Friday. Mr. Kalter contracted the disease on Tuesday a week ago while nursing her mother.

Mrs. Kalter had lived in Dayton practically all her life, which lasted 53 years. She belonged to the First U.B. church. He death is survived by her husband, George W. Kalter, druggist at Pretzinger's drug store on East Third street.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence. Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.

John Bernard Kappeler, 10 months old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Kappeler, 200 Squirrel road, died at 11:45 o'clock yesterday morning at St. Elizabeth hospital. Besides his parents, there survive two brothers, Robert, Jr., and Edward; one sister, Helena Marie; his grandmother, Mrs. Clara Kappeler, and his great-grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Kappeler. Private funeral rites will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow at Westbrook mortuary. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.

Paul D. Kase, 44, died at his residence, 3656 W. Siebenthaler at 1:35 p. m. Thursday after an illness of five months.

Mr. Kase had been employed as a grinder with the Frigidaire Division, General Motors Corp., since 1937 when he came to Dayton from Huntington, Ind., his birthplace, to make his home. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta and Mt. Calvary Lutheran church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Kase of Huntington, and four brothers, Monroe, Hornell, N. Y.; Wilbur, Detroit; Charles, Monticello, Ind., and Edward, Wilmette, Ill.

Funeral services for Elizabeth Katona, 63, residing with her son at 229 Deeds av., who died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth hospital of pneumonia after a three-day illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Walter funeral home, with burial in Memorial Park cemetery. Surviving are one son, Jack Katona; one daughter, Katie Alex, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

TRACTION VICTIM LIVED IN DAYTON

Samuel Katz, 43, who was instantly killed when the wagon in which he was riding was truck by a west bound Ohio Electric car, on the Dayton-Richmond division near New Lebanon early Saturday morning. He formerly lived at 149 South Terry street, this city, with his wife and three daughters. An identification card found among his effects by Coroner McKemy stating that in case of accident to notify Mobile, Ala., caused a delay of 10 hours before his relatives in this city knew of his death.

Katz was a peddler and was driving his wagon loaded with wares when the traction car struck him. The wagon was demolished but the horses uninjured. Katz is said to have tried to beat the car in crossing the track. He was dead when picked up by the passengers and crew. Undertaker Reisinger removed the body from New Lebanon to this city Sunday.

MIAMISBURG - James M. Kauffman died at Miami Valley hospital, Dayton, at 10 p.m. Sunday after a two-week illness of pneumonia.

He had been associated in the founding of the former Kauffman Buggy company and had served for many years as its secretary and treasurer. He had served as accountant at the Groendyke Twins company for 24 years, retiring in 1935. He also had been choir director and organist at the Miamisburg Methodist church for many years, relinquishing the position to his wife several years ago. For many years he also was a director of the former Citizens National bank of Miamisburg and of the former Enterprise Carriage company. He had been a member of the Miamisburg lodge of Masons.

He is survived by his wife Anna, and three sons, Commander Frederick B. Kauffman of the U.S. Navy, now stationed at Philadelphia; Capt. J. L. Kauffman, also of the navy, now stationed at San Diego, Calif., and Professor John R. Kauffman, professor of ceramics at Rutgers university; a brother R. B. Kauffman of Dayton; a sister Mrs. H. T. Kinkaid of Cincinnati.

Funeral will be held at the residence at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by burial in Hillgrove cemetery.

DEATH OF AN OLD CITIZEN � The venerable Peter Kaufman, one of the oldest citizens of the county, died at his residence, in Harrison Township, near the Covington pike, four miles north of the city, Wednesday morning at the advanced age of 84 years and 8 months. Mr. Kaufman was born in Pennsylvania on the 22d day of January, 1788, and removed to this State in 1830, when he took up his residence, on the 10th day of August in that year on the farm.

Ed Kauffman died Thursday morning, June 5th, at 4:30, at the residence, Strafford avenue, age 65 years, 4 months and 14 days. The body will be shipped to Chicago, Ill., for burial Saturday evening. Chillicothe and Chicago papers please copy.

Funeral services for Miss Matilda Mary Keaton, 21, of 17 Hickory st., who died at 10 a. m. Wednesday at her home, will be held Saturday at 8:30 a. m. at the Harris funeral home, 49 Linden av., and at 9 a. m. at the Church of the Holy Angels. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Miss Keaton was a life resident of Dayton. She was graduated from Julienne high school in 1939 and was attending the University of Dayton when she became ill. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, C. A. B. O. S. at the U. of D., and the Julienne Alumni association.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Keaton; a brother, John Keaton, Jr., and her grandmother, Mrs. Anton Huber, all of Dayton.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p. m. Friday.

Fred E. Keeley, one of the best-known young men in Dayton, died at 7:30 Sunday night at the home of his parents, 47 Torrence street. His death came as a great shock to his many friends. For some time the young man has been feeling badly, but has during that time continued his duties as draftsman at the N.C.R., up until Wednesday night. On Wednesday evening he instructed his class at the Y.M.C.A. as usual, and on Saturday was compelled to take to his bed. His condition was not thought serious, and his family were not greatly worried until Sunday when the young man sank into unconsciousness.

The deceased was in his 24th year and only six months ago was married to Miss Kate Curlett. The couple had furnished a cozy little home at 254 Torrence street. The young bride was prostrated by the shock.

Although born in Cincinnati, Mr. Keeley has been a resident of Dayton for 18 years. He was prominent in church work, and a good friend to all with whom he was acquainted. He was a member of Iola lodge, K. of P., and of the American Insurance Union. Besides his wife, his parents, a brother and sister survive. Complete arrangements for the funeral have not been made.

KEHRLE FUNERAL HELD WEDNESDAY
WELL KNOWN LOCAL FARMER SUCCUMBS IN HOSPITAL AFTER THREE YEAR ILLNESS

Funeral services for Adam Kehrle, aged 66 years, of the Gebhart Church road, east of Miamisburg, who passed away at the St. Elizabeth hospital, Dayton, Sunday afternoon at 12:50 o'clock, were held Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock from Our Lady of Good Hope church, with Rev. B. J. Roberts officiating. Burial was made in Calvary Catholic cemetery of this city.

Three years ago Mr. Kehrle suffered a paralytic stroke and his health had been failing since. About eight weeks ago he suffered with an infected tooth which, later the infection settled in the limb. He was removed to the hospital over two weeks ago, the infection causing his death.

He was born in Montgomery county, west of Maims burg, April 17, 1870, and had resided in this vicinity his entire life, where he was a well known farmer.

He is survived by his widow, Hannah Gebhart Kehrle; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Fromholtz of Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Miller of Farmersville, Mrs. Agnes Honsted of Dayton; one brother, Joseph Kehrle, east of Miamisburg. He also leaves several grandchildren.

FRANK KEHRLE DIES SUDDENLY
FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MIAMISBURG MAN, STRICKEN MONDAY, ARE HELD TODAY

Enjoying apparent good health, up until Monday noon when he was taken seriously ill, Frank Kehrle, for many years a prominent farmer of this vicinity, passed away at his home on East Central avenue at 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon.

Death was due to heart trouble, his sudden illness and death coming as a shock to relatives and his many friends and acquaintances in the community. Mr. Kehrle was 71 years of age, having been born March 25, 1862, on a farm east of this city. He had resided in this vicinity his entire life.

He leaves four daughters, Mrs. Frances Mayer of East Central avenue, Marie, at home, Mrs. Lillian Suttman of South Ninth street, and Helen, a nurse at Cincinnati, one son, Edwin Kehrle of Dayton; two brothers, Joseph and Adam, east of Miamisburg; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Miller of Farmersville and Mrs. Agnes Houmsted of Dayton. Two grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, 14 years ago.

Funeral services were held this morning at nine o'clock from Our Lady of Good Hope Church, of which he was a member. Rev. B. J. Robers officiated and interment was made in Calvary cemetery at Southern Hills.

WELL KNOWN MIAMI TOWNSHIP FARMER DIES MONDAY AFTER ILLNESS OF SIX WEEKS

Joseph Kehrle, aged 71 years, a well known farmer in this vicinity, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harold Paff of the Gebhart Church road, Monday morning at 7 o'clock following a six weeks' illness due to complications.

He had lived east of Miamisburg most of his life. He was born in Germantown, March 13, 1866, and was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope church. He had made his home with the Paff family since last March.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Leis Kehrle, four years ago on October 9. He is survived by three daughters and three sons, Mrs. Harold Paff, Mrs. Harl Taylor of West Carrollton, Mrs. Harold Thomas of Ellerton; Arnold, Leo and Leonard Kehrle, of Miamisburg; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Miller of Farmersville, and Mrs. Agnes Honsted of Dayton. He also leaves thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the Paff home and at 9 o'clock from Our Lady of Good Hope church. Interment was made in Hill Grove cemetery.

MARIE KEHRLE, 63, BURIED SATURDAY

Miss Marie Kehrle, 63, of 123 North Eighth street, died at 7 p. m. Wednesday evening, May 16, at the Miami Valley hospital where she had been confined 11 days.

She was a life long resident of Miamisburg and a member of Our Lady of Good Hope church where services were held Saturday at 9 a. m. with Rev. Fr. B. J. Robers officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, Dayton.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Lillian K. Suttman, Mrs, Carl Mayer, and Miss. Helen Kehrle, all of Miamisburg. Funeral services were in charge of the Gebhart and Schmidt funeral home.

NEW CARLISLE--Services for Mrs. Grace M. Keechle, 72, of RR 1, Bellefontaine road, will be held at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Morris funeral home, Fairborn, and at 9 a.m. at Mary, Help of Christians church. Burial in Medway cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today. Mrs. Keechle, a resident of New Carlisle most of her life, died at 11 p.m. Friday in Greene Memorial hospital, Xenia, after a one-year illness. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Luella Gruber of New Carlisle; a son, John R. of Fairborn; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Hoke of Fairborn, and Mrs. Sumner Schauer of Florida, and a brother, Carl Glaser of Medway.

Jerry died peacefully on February 7, 2015, in Denver, Colorado, from complications of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Jerry was born September 12, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, to Sam and Lucy Keker. He grew up outside Washington, D.C., where he was a Boy Scout, basketball player, and lover of nature. As a boy, he terrified his family by keeping a zoo of amphibians and reptiles in the basement of the family home. After high school, Jerry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1967, served in Vietnam as a Reconnaissance Marine, trained in sky diving, underwater demolition and counterinsurgency warfare. He was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds he received in combat. After his service, he graduated from the University of Hawaii, financing his education by working as a teamster on the Alaska Pipeline. While in college, he was a champion sky diver, setting records for star formations over Hawaii. After college, Jerry became active in Democratic politics in suburban Maryland, took up chess and started a program of teaching the game to inmates in county jails. In 2004, he moved to Boulder, Colorado, to live a serious outdoor life: skiing, playing tennis and most of all taking huge hikes on the Continental Divide and Pacific Crest trails, including all 500 miles of the Colorado Trail. Jerry is survived by his mother, Lucy S. Keker of Chevy Chase, Maryland, his brother and sister-in-law, John and Tina Keker of San Francisco, California, and by two nephews, Adam Keker of San Francisco, California, and Nathan Keker of Oakland, California. KELLER RITES WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for Arthur G. Keller, 20, son of John H. and Pearl Keller (nee Lloyd), who died Saturday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock at the residence, 142 Grove av., following a short illness of uraemic poisoning, will be conducted at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at the house. Rev. Feeger, pastor of Christ Lutheran church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wapakoneta.

His death came as a great shock to his friends on account of the shortness of his illness. He had lived in Dayton five years, coming here from Wapakoneta.

The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Lowe Keller was held Monday morning at 7:30 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Kinsig, 375 Samuel street, and at 7:45 o'clock at St. Mary's church. Interment was made in Calvary cemetery.

MRS. DOT KELLY, 81, DIES AFTER TWO-YEAR ILLNESS

Mrs. Dot Kelly, 81 died at 2:25 a.m. Saturday at her residence 2026 Catalpa dr., after an illness of two years.

Born in Westerville, she had lived in Dayton 60 years. She was a member of the Fairview EUB church. She was the widow of Seymour Kelly, former Dayton real estate man, and the mother of the late Sam Kelly, Dayton attorney and former assistant county prosecutor.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Charles Kendrick of Dayton, four grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the residence. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the residence after 6 p.m. Monday.

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Kelly, wife of Edward Kelly, who died Sunday morning, was held Wednesday morning at 7:15 at the residence, 130 East Second street, and at St. Joseph's church at 8 o'clock, and the body was laid to rest in Calvary cemetery.

BODY OF REVEREND C. S. KEMPER TO LIE IN STATE TUESDAY
Friends Desirous of Viewing Remains of Beloved Priest Are Given Privilege

The many parishioners and Dayton friends of Rev. Charles Kemper, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic church, who died at St. Elizabeth's hospital Saturday afternoon, will be afforded an opportunity for a last look at the face of the loved and revered priest Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday in State.
The body will lie in state at St. Mary's church from 2 p.m. Tuesday until Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock when solemn requiem mass will be held. Funeral following the mass will be to Calvary cemetery where the remains will be interred in the clergy lot.

Wide Experience.
Father Kemper was born in Wallhausen, Germany, July 6, 1851. He came to Philadelphia when but a boy. Some years later he came to Dayton, where he became a pupil at Emanuel parochial school. He made his preparatory studies for the priesthood at Bardstown, Ky., from where he went to St. Gregory's seminary. There he spent three years in Innsbruck Tyrol, where he was ordained. He received the degree of Doctor of Divinity at the Jesuit college in Rome. His first field of labor was at St. Gregory's seminary as a professor, where he remained for two years. He was pastor of the Catholic church in Greenville for one year. Following this, he was chaplain at the National Military home in this city for 23 years. He has been pastor of St. Mary's church for the past 10 years.

Funeral Wednesday.
Surviving him are three sisters, Barbara, Helen and Mrs. P. J. Rotterman. Two brothers are dead, they being Philip A., who died four years ago and Jacob, who died in April of this year.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Mary church. It is likely that Archbishop Moeller, of Cincinnati, will be here to conduct the service, although the complete arrangements have not been made. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.

A PIONEER GONE
Death of Zenas Kendall, for Sixty Years a Resident of West Carrollton

Zenas Kendall, one of the pioneer citizens of West Carrollton, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ella Burris on Main street Saturday afternoon at 1:30. The death, however, was not altogether unexpected as he has been a patient suffer for two years.

Mr. Kendall was born in Cincinnati Oct. 14, 1828. He came to Carrollton in 1834. On May 12, 1855, he was united in marriage to Martha Clawson. Ten children were the result of this union, four of whom have preceded him to the better land. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss, four sons, Edward, James, Louis and Charles and two daughters, Mrs. Ella Burris and Miss Mittie. The deceased was a devoted and faithful member of the M. E. church for a period of 18 years.

He died Saturday, Oct. 22, 1904, aged 76 years and 8 days. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church at West Carrollton Monday at 2 p.m. The interment was in Evergreen cemetery. The bereaved family have the deepest sympathy of all who know them.

NAN KENNEDY IS DEAD AT 79

Funeral arrangements for Miss Nan Kennedy, 79, of 17 Edgemont av., who died Monday morning, were being completed Monday.

The eldest child of John and Martha Darst Kennedy, she was born Feb. 5, 1856, at the old homestead on the Frederick pike, in Harrison twp. She was a member of the Third Street Presbyterian church and later of the Westminster Presbyterian church and an active member of the mission societies. She was educated at the Cooper Female academy.

She is survived by one brother, Harry D., Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Clark Keogh, 77, widow of J. P. Keogh, who died Monday, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at her residence, [address not legible], and at 9 a.m. at Holy Family church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body may be viewed at the residence.

Funeral services for Roy H. Kepner, 43, who died Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the residence of his brother, Carl, 217 Klee st., were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Christian church in Covington. Burial was in Covington cemetery. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kepner; his brother, Fred; his sister, Mrs. Edith Costello.

MRS. KEPHART DIES AT OTTERBEIN HOME

Mrs. Mary E. Kephart, widow of Rev. I. L. Kephart, formerly editor at the Religious Telescope, official organist of the United Brethren church, died Thursday morning at the Otterbein Home, near Lebanon. She was 77 years old and was born at Brush Valley, Pa.

The funeral will be held at the Home Saturday morning. Burial will be made at Woodland cemetery, preceded by services at Woodland chapel about 11 a.m.

THE LATE MRS. RICHARD A KERFOOT

The Herald has already announced the death of Mrs. Eleanor S. Kerfoot, the aged widow of our late townsman, Richard A. Kerfoot. This occurred at the home of her son, Samuel H. Kerfoot, in Des Moines, Iowa, on last Friday morning, 27th inst. Owing to the absence in San Francisco of her eldest son, Charles A. Kerfoot, of Chicago, the removal of the remains to Dayton has been delayed for a few days. There were Divine services held Monday afternoon at the house in Des Moines, and the body was placed in the vault till the latter part of this week. It is expected that the interment will take place here on Monday afternoon, May 7th, from the residence of her son, Barrett W. Kerfoot. The services will be held at the Church of St. Andrews.

Mrs. Kerfoot came to our city in its comparatively early days�so long ago as 1837. At first she and her husband were members of the Methodist Church, but in 1843 they became communicants of Christ Church (Episcopal). Mrs. Kerfoot's whole life has been that of quiet, Christian faithfulness. As a mother she has ever been tender and unwearying, and she leaves a large family�five sons and two daughters, to bear loving witness to her blessed memory. They are Rev. Richard T. Kerfoot, Clyde, N.Y.; Charles A. Kerfoot, Chicago, Ill.; Barrett W. Kerfoot, Dayton; Mrs. Benj. F. Gump, Chicago; Samuel H. Kerfoot, Des Moines, Ia.; Mrs. Benj. F. Haughton, Cincinnati; Wm. A. Kerfoot, Des Moines, Ia. The husband and father died several years ago.

Mrs. Eleanor Kerfoot will be very pleasantly recalled by elderly citizens, who greatly esteemed her for her personal loving characteristics, and for her Christian virtues, and there will be heartfelt sorrow at her demise. Her death removes another of the elderly citizens who may be said to have grown up with the city, and shared in its social and church life.

Abraham F. Ketchum, 69, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at his home, 3516 W. Third st. A native of Preble county, he had lived in Dayton 60 years. He was a machinist and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Surviving are his wife, Clara; a son, John Howard Ketchum, and a granddaughter.

Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Springer Kettering, 60, who died at 6 a.m. Friday at the residence, R.R. 9, Virginia dr., will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at the house. Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery. . She leaves her husband, John A. Kettering; her daughter, Mrs. Gladys Albright; three sons, Howard A., Ross F. and Delbert A. Kettering; six grandchildren; her sister, Mrs. Betty Coon, of Rockford, O., and three brothers, Henry P. Kettering of Hicksville, George and Charles Kettering of Celina.

C. F. KETTERING'S MOTHER SUCCUMBS TO LONG ILLNESS

Mrs. Martha Kettering, widow of the late Jacob Kettering and mother of C. F. Kettering, died at 3:45 o'clock Monday afternoon on the home farm of the family, three miles north of Louisville, Ashland county. Mrs. Kettering was 73 years of age. He death occurred after a lingering illness.

C. F. Kettering has spent much of the months of December and January at the side of his mother during her critical illness. Following a particularly severe attack several weeks ago, Mrs. Kettering seemed to improve but the hopes which were entertained by her children and friends was of short duration. She was preceded in death by her husband about six years ago. Mr. Kettering was at the bedside of his mother when the end came.

Mrs. Kettering is survived by two sons and two daughters. They are C. F. Kettering and David W. Kettering, who lives on the home farm; Mrs. Charles Hede who, with her husband and daughter, also reside on the Kettering farm, and Mrs. Earl Culler of Ashland, Ohio.

The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Episcopal church in Loudonville. Burial will be made in Loudenville.

Robert E. Keyer, infant son of Robert and Dorothy Keyer, died Monday at 3 a.m. at the parents' residence, 1320 Huffman av. He is survived by his parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis W. Keyer and Mrs. Louise Frey. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1809 E. third st. Burial will be made in Memorial Park.

Funeral services of Mrs. William Kiefaber were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence, 33 Lehman street, and burial was made in Woodland cemetery. Mrs. Kiefaber died suddenly Sunday immediately a short time after she suffered an attack of heart trouble while walking on the street.

Mrs. Catharine Kidder, 64, of North St. Clair street, passed away Saturday evening. The funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's church, and the burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Kiehn, Ella C. (Gram), age 78, of Vandalia, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 1992. She was a member of the Fairborn Grand Ave. Baptist Church, Am Vets Auxilliary No. 99. VETERAN FALLS OUT OF WINDOW, FREEZES, DIES

Christian Killheffer, 73, retired, of rural route No. 3, Osborn, was found frozen to death Saturday by relatives at the home of his son, David H. Killheffer, Bellefontaine road.

Killheffer has been in a demented condition for several months. It is believed he fell from the second story window of the home and walked about 100 feet beside a garage, where he was found. He was dressed only in his underwear.

Despite the fact that the entire family is ill with influenza they have been trying to keep a close watch on the aged man.

It is believed he fell from the window some time early Saturday morning.

On January 22, Dr. Shepard of Sulphur Grove, and Dr. J. P. Marquardt of Springfield, had a consultation about Killheffer. He was a Civil war veteran.

BROUGHT HOME FOR BURIAL

The remains of Charles Kimmel, who was killed at Huntington, Ind., reached here Tuesday and the funeral was held from the home of his parents in Antioch street Tuesday afternoon. Burial was made at Ft. McKinley.

Death of Jesse Kimmel, 70, a gardener, occurred suddenly Sunday night at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Martha E. Kimmel, on Ferguson avenue. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Ida M. James, of Seattle, Wash., and one son, E. B. Kimmel. The body will be removed to the home of his son, E. B. Kimmel, Union road, Trotwood, and the funeral will be held there.

The funeral of William H. Kimmel, who met his death at the West Third street crossing beneath the wheels of a Pennsylvania freight train Saturday morning, was conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence, Second and Antioch streets. Burial was made in Woodland cemetery.

William Kimes died Wednesday at 6:45 a.m., at State hospital, aged 63 years. Funeral Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, 12 South Jersey st. Burial Woodland cemetery. Friends invited. Surviving are his widow, Mary Kimes; a son, Clarence, and daughter, Mrs. Robert Youngman.

Mr. John E. Kinder died of consumption yesterday morning, at his late residence in Miamisburg, in the forty-seventh year of his age. He was born in Franklin, Warren county, Ohio, of an old pioneer family. The late Judge William Kinder, of Hamilton, Ohio, was his brother. During the administrations of Pierce and Buchanan he served as postmaster in his native town, and subsequently carried on the milling business in Miamisburg, where he has ever since resided. During the war he volunteered as a private in the 131st Regiment Ohio Infantry, under Colonel John G. Lowe, of this city, serving during his entire term as postmaster of the regiment.

Returning home, he entered the United States service, as storekeeper in the Internal Revenue Department. He spent some time in the office of Colonel Nolan of this city, and the last official duty he performed was taking the Federal census of the township of Miami, in this county. Mr. Kinder was a genial friend and neighbor, esteemed by all who knew him. He was for many years of his life in feeble health, and his death was not unexpected. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his loss. His was the death of the resigned Christian, in full faith and communion of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Remains of Anthony A. King, 85, who died Wednesday afternoon at Elwood City, I'a., were interred in Calvary cemetery Saturday morning, following the funeral at 8:30 from the residence of Mrs. Brockman, 707 Hodapp av. and at 9 o'clock at St. Anthony's church.

Funeral services for Peter King 67, formerly of Dayton, who died Tuesday at his late home in Massillon, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. H. McCain, 1107 Harvard boulevard. Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.

Kirchner-- Josephine, died June 20, at 4:30 p. m., age 59 years. Funeral Friday, June 23, from residence, 125 Weakley st., at 8 o'clock, at St. John's church at 8:30. Interment Calvary. Friends invited.

The death of Christena Kinstel occurred at her residence, 515 Daller street, Wednesday, at 7:55 in the evening; aged 48 years. The funeral will be held at 8:30 o'clock at the Holy Rosary church. Interment at Calvary.

The funeral of Mrs. Harry W. Kissinger, daughter of the late Charles L. Loos, former principal of Steele High School, was conducted at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the residence of Walter Kissinger, 819 Neal av. Burial was made in Woodland cemetery. Mrs. Kissinger died Wednesday morning at her residence in Buffalo, N.Y.

The last sad rites were held over the body of Mrs. Joseph Klopfer Sunday afternoon at the late residence, 211 Sycamore street. Many friends were present at the services, who witnessed the impressive simplicity of the Jewish ceremony for the dead. Rabbi Lefkowitz, of the Jefferson Street temple, officiated. Interment was made in Riverview cemetery. The honary pallbearers were Clarence Siggim, count treasurer and George H. Schmidt, and the active pallbearers were E. S. Hilb, Ed Rauh, J. Stern, Myron Strauss, John Boyer and Louis Fox.

HIS DEATH CAUSES MANY ACHING HEARTS

Charles Kirves, aged 36, a cigar maker by occupation, and a life long resident of the southeastern section of the city, died Friday morning at his residence, 69 Henry street, from the effects of a lingering illness. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Kirves, and three little children, Carl, Harry and Helen Kirves. He was an exceedingly popular man, and there is deep regret felt by a large number of friends.

The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence, 369 Henry street, and the body will be laid to rest in Woodland cemetery.

Services for Mrs. Matilda Klawonn, 94, of 538 Parrott st., who died Tuesday, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the home. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the residence.

RESIDENT HERE 32 YEARS DIES

Mrs. Clara L. Klein, 67, a resident of Dayton for 32 years, died Sunday at the residence, 914 Huffman av. She was an active member of St. Paul M.E. church and belonged also to the Women's Relief Corps of Old Guard Post and to the Maccabees.

Mrs. Klein was born in New Burlington and spent her early married life in Xenia. Surviving her are her husband, John E. Klein; four daughters, Mrs. Carl Yahle, Mrs. Clarence Kolker, Mrs. Martin Shonting, Mrs. Arthur Logan and two sons, William R. and John F. Klein.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul M.E. church. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

KLEPINGER, Earl B., age 63, of 8 North Main, Englewood, died 2 p.m. Monday at Good Samaritan hospital. Survived by mother, Mrs. Clara Mast; 1 aunt, Effie Hoover. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Antioch Shrine and Eastern Star. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Roy H. Miller funeral home, West Milton. Burial Minnich cemetery. The body of Walter Kleyla, aged 23, World War veteran, who died Saturday at the National Military Home, was sent to Elwood, Ind., Sunday. Burial will be made there.

Funeral services for O. Newton Kline, 67, of 1637 W. Second st., who died Monday at his home, will be conducted Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m. at his residence. Burial will be in Bear Creek cemetery. Surviving the decedent are one son, Herbert; three daughters, Mrs. Merle Shoemaker, Tippecanoe City, Mrs. Helen Neininger, Detroit, and Mrs. Katherine Taylor, Dayton.

George Kling, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kling of 1650 West First street, was instantly killed at 6:20 Sunday morning when he fell from his bicycle under an east bound Third street car, near Euclid and Third streets.

The boy, who was employed as a carrier for a morning paper, was playing with a companion, who was also riding a wheel. They were hitting each other over the head with their paper sacks. Young Kling was struck in the face by the sack of his companion, the blow causing him to lose his balance and fall from his bicycle under the wheels of the street car, which was passing. His head was crushed and his right arm amputated at the shoulder. Coroner McKemy was called and the body was taken in charge by Undertaker Reisinger.

Besides his parents, two younger sisters survive him. He was a student at Stivers High school. The funeral will be held Tuesday.

Klosterman, Rosella, daughter of August and Ida K., died Jan. 21 at 2 p.m., age 2 years, 1 mo., 28 days, at residence, 205 Allen street. Remains will be taken to Montezuma, O., for burial Tuesday at 7 a.m. Interment Montezuma cemetery. Friends invited.

Mrs. Charlotte Knauer, 6, of 633 Shoop av., died at 11:35 a.m. Friday at the St. Elizabeth hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hoyne funeral home, 1817 E. At Paris, Illinois, on the 24th instant, Clara Kneisly, daughter of Joseph Kneisly, of Fairfield, Ohio. The funeral will take place from the residence of her parents, at Fairfield, this (Thursday) afternoon at two o'clock.

Mr. Kochendorfer died at 3:30 a.m. Friday at the Montgomery county hospital after an illness of a week.

A life resident of Dayton, he was a retired harness maker and operated a business for 35 years at Montgomery and McLain sts.

Survivors include three nephews, Lee Kochendorfer, Vincent C. Koepnick and Robert L. Wetzel.

Funeral services are being arranged for Albert Kocher, 80, of 521 Ingram av., who died Thursday night at the residence of his son, Elmer Kocher, with whom he lived, Kocher's death followed a brief illness and was due to the infirmative of advancing age.

The funeral of William J. Koester, who died in El Paso, Tex., was held from the residence of John T. Stephens, with supplemental services at Emanuel church at 8:30 Monday morning. The deceased was a graduate of St. Mary's Institute, and a member of Dayton Court No. 5, Knights of Columbus, and was 37 years of age. He had become a wealthy contractor in the south during his stay there. He was also a member of the order of Elks of this city. He is survived by his father and two sisters, Misses Bertha and Edythe.

The funeral of John Kohorst, well-known citizen of the southeastern section of the city who passed away Monday morning, was held Wednesday morning at the house, 235 Henry street, at 7:45, and at Holy Trinity church at 8:15, and the body was interred in Calvary cemetery.

Services for Mrs. Edessa Kooken, 54, of 132 Dell Park dr. will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Routsong funeral home, Brown st. and Irving av., by the Rev. Warren Fogle. Mrs. Kooken died at 6 p.m. Sunday in her home after an illness of one week. A native of Hamilton, she had lived in Dayton 48 years. She was a member of the Central Christian church. She is survived by her husband, William, and a brother, Allen Cole of Dayton.

Funeral of Edwin Koropp, 42, who died Sunday, was held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the residence, 810 S. Ludlow st. Burial was in Woodland cemetery.

MRS. EDWARD KRAMER, 70, FORMER DAYTONIAN, DEAD

Mrs. Mary Klemm Kramer, 70, a Dayton resident for 40 years, died Friday at her residence, 107 Plum st., Troy. Mrs. Kramer was the widow of Edward D. Kramer who operated a hardware store on E. Third st. for many years. She moved to Troy three years ago.

She is survived by two sons, John H. of St. Louis Mo., and Howard E. of Troy; a sister, Emma Klemm of Washington, D.C., and one grandchild. Among her affiliations here was membership in the Little Garden club.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Boyer funeral home, 609 W. Riverview av. by Dr. Phil Porter. The body will be sent to Hillside chapel in Cincinnati for cremation. Friends may call at the funeral home after Sunday noon.

MRS. KRAMER SUCCUMBS

Mrs. Clyde N. Kramer died Monday afternoon at 3:40 at the home of her brother-in-law, John Kramer, 161 Orchard street. She had been ill for some time before her death. Her husband, Clyde Kramer was well known in Dayton both as a song writer and as a waiter in various eateries. He was owner of the restaurant at the Fountain for over a year, but gave it up after the flood, and went to New York. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

Funeral services for Mrs. William Kramer who died Tuesday morning in Monrovia, CA, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Westbrock funeral home, 1712 Wayne av., and 9 a.m. in Emanuel church.� Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday.

Will Be Buried This Morning From Emanuel Church

This morning the last rites will be performed over the remains of the late Col John Kreidler. The deceased will be mourned by many friends, his popularity recognized on all sides. The funeral will take place at 8:30 a.m. from Emanuel church and will be attended by the Knights of St. George, of which order he was one of the highest officers and for whose interests he labored continually, and by the G.A.R., of which he was an honored member.

Mr. William Dappen, H. Santersonerber and G. J. Rodenteis, of Cincinnati, brother knights, will attend as a guard of honor and respect.

A life resident of Montgomery county, Mr. Kreitzer was a fireman here for 45 years, including 18 years as assistant chief and eight as chief. He retired from the department six years ago. He was a life member of the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association.

Surviving are his wife, Maude; a daughter, Mrs. Valiera Thielman of Miamisburg; a son, Orville of West Carrollton, member of the Wright-Patterson AFB fire department; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Cooper of New Lebanon; two brothers, Harry of Dayton and Howard of Brookville; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Clarence E. Kreitzer, age 93, formerly of Farmersville, died Wednesday, October 7, at the Trinity Home. He was a member of the Farmersville United Church of Christ.

Mr. Kreitzer was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, in 1966, and a daughter, Louise in 1930. He is survived by his son Frederick of Concord, New Hampshire; two daughters, Bettina Focht, Winterhaven, Florida and Erma Shell of Farmersville; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home, Germantown, the Rev. Gary Owens officiating. Burial was in Germantown Cemetery.

He had been in failing health for 1 year. Mr. John Kreitzer died at his residence on Plum street early Thursday morning. He was in the 73rd year of his age and leaves a large number of relatives. Funeral Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. F.W. E. Peshau.

Funeral services were held for Tom Kreitzer, 76, who died Monday in a Dayton hospital, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Lutheran Church, with burial in Hill Grove Cemetery. Mr. Kreitzer was a native of Franklin.

He leaves two sons, Edward of Dayton, and Ralph of Eaton; one daughter, Sylvia of Springfield; a brother, Harry of Dayton; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Strock of Dayton, Mrs. Laura Peterson and Mrs. Lavina Zimmerman, of this city; five grandchildren.

Services for William Kreitzer, who died Sunday at his home on the Eaton pike, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Peter's Lutheran church on the Eaton pike. Burial will be in Beavercreek cemetery.

KREUSCH - Anthony, aged 51 years, ? months, 24 days, died Sunday night, May 27 at 8 p.m. at his home at Lundell, Kans. The body will arrive Friday morning. RESIDENT HERE 40 YEARS DIES

Mrs. Kat Krisher, 75, widow of Benjamin F. Krisher, died at the residence of her son, Otho E. Krisher, 333 Leland av., Westwood, Sunday at 4:55 a.m. following an illness of two weeks.

During the past 40 years she had been a resident of the West Side and was widely known in that part of the city. She was born in Byer, O., Nov. 20, 1855.

Surviving her are five children, including three daughters, Martha Krisher, Mrs. E. H. Miller and Mrs. Charles Jund, and two sons, Otho E. and Howard P. Krisher. There are 17 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the residence and at 2:30 at the Epworth M. E. church. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery.

The services, which were simple yet impressive, were conducted by Rev. J. G. Mueller, pastor of St. John's German Lutheran Church. She was carried to her last resting place in Woodland cemetery by her three sons--Christian S. Kroemer, Harry Kroemer and Albert Kroemer; her two sons-in-law, Theodore Bacher and Otto Knieling, and her brother, Henry Leidorf.

Mrs. Kroemer was 57 years of age and is survived by three sons and two daughters, Mrs. O. C. Knieling, Miss Eleanor Kroemer, Mrs. Theodore Bacher, Christian S. Kroemer, Harry Kroemer, and Albert Kroemer; two brothers, C. J. Leidorf of Spokane, Wash., and Henry Leidorf of this city.

KRUER, Walter W., age 73, of RR 2, Waynesville, passed away 11:50 a.m. Mon. Survived by his wife Grace, 1 daughter Mrs. Helen Wolfe, 5 sons, Albert Robert Kruer, Clifford Walter Kruer of Dayton, Charles Webster Kruer of Spring Valley, Edward Laurence Kruer of Miamisburg, Harry Merle Kruer of Middletown; 2 brothers, George T. of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Harry C. EDWARD R. KRUGMAN, 75, PAST PRESIDENT OF EAGLES

Edward R. Krugman, 75, of Caroline Street, died early this morning at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a three-month illness.

Born in Elyria, he was a lifetime area resident.

Mr. Krugman retired from Luxaire Corp. as a lab technician in 1971 after 36 years of service.

A member of Washington Avenue Christian Church, he was past secretary of Elyria Eagles No. 431, past president of the Eagles 3 times, and held many offices with the group.

He was well-known many years ago as a musician at area dances, and has been active in Elyria bowling circles.

Mr. Krugman also was a social member of VFW Post 1079, and a member of the King Solomon Masonic Lodge No. 56, El Ray Grotto, Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland, United Polish Club, American Association of Retired Persons, and the Senior Fellowship Club.

Surviving are his wife, Alice P. (nee Metzler), to whom he was married 46 years; a daughter, Mrs. Kirby (Gayle) Degnan, of North Aurora, Ill.; and a granddaughter. A brother, Ray Krugman, preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Curtis-Scheuffler Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Revs. J. Kenneth Evans and Charles Kessee will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery.

The King Solomon Masonic Lodge will hold services at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mary Kuhn, 75, died at 12:40 a.m. Saturday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. M. S. Hawley, of 1816 E. Fourth st., following an illness of six weeks. Funeral services at 8 a.m. Thursday at the residence of her daughter, and at 8:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body may be viewed after 3 p.m. Sunday at the residence.

Funeral of Mrs. Emma Kunkle, wife of Al H. Kunkle, who died Monday night, was held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the residence, 115 McDaniel st. Burial took place in Poplar Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Margaret Kuntz, 51, of 2305 Sherer avenue, died at 5 a.m. yesterday at Miami Valley hospital after a sudden illness. A native Daytonian, she was a member of the Northridge Wesleyan Methodist church. Surviving are her husband, Leo; a daughter, Rita Ann Kuntz; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Pitts, Mrs. Susanna Smith, Mrs. Dorothy Zarka and Mrs. Emma McAvoy, all of Dayton; two brothers, William Ramby and John Ramby Jr., both of Dayton.
