CRASH VICTIMS TO BE BURIED Bodies of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Dadisman, of 327 W. Hudson av., who were killed when their automobile was struck by another car on the National rd. two miles east of Greenfield, Ind., will be buried in Greenville Thursday, following the funeral at 10 a.m. at the Central Presbyterian church on N. DARLING, YNC Robert W., U.S. Navy, 32, formerly of E. Siebenthaler Av., died Sunday, May 23rd in Naples, Italy of a heart attack. Italy of a heart attack. He was the husband of Barbara A. nee Condy; father of Gregory S. and Dana M.; son of Max W. and Margaret L. and brother of Steve and Mrs. Sheryl Vale. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Death of a Young Citizen

Yesterday morning, Mr. William L. Darrow died at his residence on Water street. Mr. Darrow caught a severe cold by being exposed to that terrible snow storm which occurred on Friday afternoon early in December, and which will be remembered as ushering in the long cold spell of December and January. The cold he contracted ran into hasty consumption, which rapidly wasted his system. When the pleasant weather of February set in he began to mend, and his ultimate recovery was looked for. But last Friday evening he grew suddenly worse and gradually sank until he breathed his last yesterday morning. He was conscious to the end, and able to speak within a few minutes of his death.

Mr. Darrow was comparatively young, in his twenty-eighth year, and leaves a wife and one child. He was a member of the Iola Lodge, Knights of Pythias, the first one of their number who has died. He was born and raised in Dayton, was well known and highly respected.

At the residence of her son, W. H. Darst, of Wayne township, Mrs. Sarah A. Darst, widow of the late Abraham Darst, in her 81st year. Died September 2, 1904. Funeral Monday at 1 o'clock p.m. Interment Bethel cemetery.

FORMER RESIDENT OF DAYTON DIES

Funeral services for Sue Daughtery, former Dayton resident, who died at Reid Memorial hospital, Richmond, Ind., Tuesday at 10:45 p.m., will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Richmond. Burial will be in Eaton.

Born in Richmond, she had lived in Dayton for the past five years, until two weeks ago. She died after an illness of one week.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. V. Kelley, Richmond; and two sisters, Sister Ruby, Richmond, and Mrs. Floyd D. Luther, Dayton.

DAVIES, Mrs. Anna Elizabeth, age 82, of 257 Monteray Av. died Friday at her residence. She was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian church, the Kettering Women's Service Club, and was the widow of Edward W. Davies. Funeral services of Mrs. Elizabeth Davis, 78, who died Monday morning at the residence, 62 Decker av., were held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at the house. Rev Bell officiated. Burial was in Arlington cemetery.

FUNERAL FOR DOCTOR HELD

Funeral services for Dr. George W. Davis, 57, Belmont physician, who died Sunday afternoon at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Sherman Weiser in Sunbury, near Germantown, where conducted Tuesday noon in Sunbury and burial was made in Waldo cemetery.

Mr. Davis, who has been in failing health seven weeks, was removed for a time to the home of Rev. Frank A. Schultz, 1255 Phillips av. and later to Miami Valley hospital. From there he was transferred to Sunbury last Friday night.

Dr. Davis practiced medicine in Belmont for 24 years, and had built up a large clientele. He leaves four brothers and two sisters: L. A. Davis, Plain City, O.; O. M. Davis, Delaware; William Davis, Lewis Center, O., and James W. Davis of DeLand, Fla; Mrs. W. H. Shults, of Millville and Mrs. Sherman Weiser, of Sunbury.

For 23 years a mechanic with the Peoples Railway company, Harry H. Davis, 62, 1601 Ditzen avenue, died Sunday morning. Following a prayer service at the Frank Riesinger mortuary at 1 p.m. Wednesday, burial will take place at 1 p.m. in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Funeral services for William B. Davis, 76, who died Monday at 7 a. m. at the residence, R. R. 10 Stillwater Junction, will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. from the residence with Rev. Frank Eby officiating. Burial will be in Hillgrove cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three daughters, Mrs. C. V. Funck, Dayton; Mrs. T. J. Windle, Cleveland, and Mrs. J. DAVY, Barbara Jean, age 36, of Springfield, died at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, at 11:00 p.m. Sunday. She was formerly employed by WPAFB. NEWS ARTIST'S MOTHER DEAD

Funeral services for Mrs. Etta Ager Dean, 72, who died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at the home of her son, O'Dell Dean, 228 W. Parkwood dr., will be held Monday afternoon in Medina.

The wife of Seth Dean, prominent Medina co. farmer, Mrs. Dean had resided in Medina all her life until two years ago when, after the death of her husband, she cam to Dayton to make her home with her son. In failing health for some time, her condition became critical Friday.

She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jeanette L. Dean, and one granddaughter, Virginia.

MISSING SOLDIER PRESUMED DEAD

Relative of Pfc. Billy Allen DeBord had notification Wednesday that the soldier, previously listed as missing in action in Korea, now is presumed dead.

Pfc. DeBord, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Claude Allen DeBord of 119 S. Euclid av., entered the service in February of 1950 and went to Korea July 18 of that year. He was reported missing on July 25, 1950.

The 22-year-old soldier was a native of White Pine, Tenn., and attended Miamisburg high school.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Orville Olson of Randolph Field, Texas, Mrs. Polly L. Smith of Long Beach, Cal., and Betty and Lena DeBord of Dayton. Both Mrs. Olson and Mrs. Smith are members of the Women's Air Force.

Funeral services of Walter J. DeBruin [sic], 66, 504 S. Broadway, who died at 8 o'clock Monday night, will be conducted at 9 o'clock Friday morning at the house. The body will be taken to Cincinnati for cremation by Undertaker Robert Reisinger.

Funeral services for Jennie M. Demann, 69, who died Friday, will be held Monday at 7:30 a. m. from the residence of her brother, William H. Demann, 332 Collingwood av., and at 8 a. m. at Holy Angel church. Interment will be made in Vevay, Ind.

The twin children of Mr. and Mrs. Stanlin Dembaki, 431 Marker street, died at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon. The funeral will be held this morning at 9 o'clock from the residence, with interment in Calvary cemetery. Father Strezelezak, the Polish priest, will conduct the service.

Funeral services of Mrs. Anna M. Demphle, widow of Sebastian Demphle, who passed away Sunday at the home of John Unger, 44 Bonner street, will be held Wednesday morning at 7:45 from the house and at 8:30 at Holy Trinity church. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Demphle was ill during the flood at her home, 113 Buckeye street. It was found necessary to remove her to Mr. Unger's residence where she passed away. She was an old resident of Dayton and a prominent woman in Catholic society circles. She belonged to Holy Trinity church, the St. Helena society of Holy Trinity church, the Altar society of Holy Rosary church, the St. Joseph's Orphans' Home society, the Tabernacle society, and the St. Elizabeth society of St. Elizabeth hospital.

DENLINGER, Mrs. Elizabeth M., age 69, of 7537 Roselake Dr., Butler Twp., passed away Thursday at Miami Valley Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A., in 1970. She is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. Shirley Denlinger Clark of Dayton; 2 sons, Normam of Houston, Tex., Roger of Anoka, Minn.; 2 sisters Mrs. Kenneth (Thelma) Kessler of Dayton, Mrs. William (Janie) Reames of LaHabra, Calif.; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. DENLINGER, Howard, age 36, of R.F.D. 1, Clayton (N. Union Rd.), passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital, Monday morning, after suffering a heart attack earlier. Mr. Denlinger was an electrician and a member of the Old German Baptist Church. Funeral services for John H. DeWeese, 81, of 520 Wright av., who died at 3:46 a.m. Tuesday at the Miami Valley hospital following an illness of a few days, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Morris Sons funeral home, 1809 E. Third st., with burial in Pearl cemetery, Swanders. The body may be viewed at the funeral home Thursday.

John N. Dick, aged 56 years, died at Waynesville, O., last week. He was a veteran of the Civil war, having served in Co. A, 61st Pennsylvania Infantry.

The death of John B. DICKS at Maumee City, was announced yesterday. The disease which proved fatal in his case was typhoid pneumonia. Mr. Dicks was well known here by the older citizens. He passed some twenty years of his early life in Natchez, Mississippi. Returning to Dayton, he lived for some years on the southwest corner of Ludlow and Water streets, and then sold the property to Andrew DeGraff. He removed to Maumee City about twenty-five years ago, and engaged extensively in milling, continuing in that business up to the time of his death. The wife of Mr. Dicks is a daughter of the late Abram DARST, a sister of Mrs. Geo. M. Dicks , of this city. The wife, with a son and two daughters, comprise the members of the bereaved family.

John B. Dicks was a man of intelligence, integrity, and first-class business capacity. He was unassuming in manner, but of a genial and generous spirit. None who knew him can fail to experience pleasant recollections of their association with him, or to be sorrowfully impressed with the intelligence of his decease.

The remains of Mr. Dicks have been deposited in a vault at Maumee City, and will be brought to Dayton for interment as soon as the weather moderates. The health of Mrs. Dicks is delicate, and exposure to such a temperature as now prevails, must be carefully avoided.

Funeral services of John Dillon, 76, who died yesterday morning following an illness lasting for more than four months, in his residence, 229 South Williams street, will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock in Sacred Heart church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Mr. Dillon was born in Ireland and came to this country in his early youth. He had been a resident of Dayton for the last 40 years.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart church since the organization of that parish and a member of the Foresters for a number of years.

He is survived by two sons, Rev. Father John F. Dillon, Joseph A. Dillon; five daughters, Mary and Winifred Dillon, Mrs. Catherine Filbert, Mrs. Urban Smith and Mrs. Aloys Kinder.

The Dayton chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians will meet at the Dillon home tonight to hold memorial services.

DILTS, Dan S., age 68, of 3536 Harry Truman Rd., passed away Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Prior to his retirement, he had been active and well known in the Dayton area in auto racing and auto sales. He was an honorary member of the Milton Athletic Club. Survived by his wife, Gertrude (Wiesman); 1 brother, William R. of Dayton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary Emmert of Weathersfield, Conn. and Miss June Dilts, Tucson, Ariz; numerous nieces and nephews. LITTLE YORK

Little York has lost one of her best citizens in the death of Mr. Wm. Dimmitt. He lay sick with typhoid fever for four weeks. He leaves a wife and two children, who have the sympathy of the entire neighborhood. Mr. Dimmitt was buried in the Shiloh Cemetery and his funeral was very largely attended. He was a member of the Little York Lodge, I.O.O.F. He has been a member since the body was organized, and was the first member which it has lost by death.

John Henry Dismuke, 64, of 524 Sprague st., died at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth hospital where he was admitted on Oct. 19,�1946.

The funeral of George Phillip Dissinger, who died Friday, was held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the residence, 231 Hartford street, Rev. W. A. Hale, pastor of the First Reformed church, was the officiating minister. Burial was made in Hillgrove cemetery in Miamisburg.

George A. Dixon, 51, of 734 Steele av., porter at the Fountain ? was found dead at 4 p.m. Saturday at the residence. He suffered a heart attack. A brother and sister survive.

DOBBERSTEIN--Roy E., son of Emil O. and Elizabeth Dobberstein, Friday, March 29, 1907, at 3:15 a. m., aged 5 years, 2 months, 19 days. Edward O. Dobie, 80, of 4609 Queens av., died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in his residence after a year's illness. He was born in Auglaize county and had resided in Dayton eight years. He was a retired machinist.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Miller and Mrs. Christa Joseph, both of Dayton; two sons, Harold V. of Dayton, and Ross of Santa Fe, O.; a brother, Charles of Kansas City, Mo., and four grandchildren.

A FAITHFUL AND POPULAR RAILROAD MAN,
LAID TO REST IN PEACEFUL CALVARY CEMETERY

They laid John W. Dooley to rest Saturday amidst a profusion of flowers that the man deserved.

They quietly interred the body of a brave, bright railroader, who had met death unflinchingly.

He had been baggage-master and expressman on the Big Four for years and was known and liked all up and down the great line. His run was from Dayton to Lockland and back again. The conductor who was "in with him at the death" was James J. Doyle, who looks upon Dooley's death as a personal bereavement.

Dooley's family consisted of only himself and his wife, but he was a domestic man in the fullest sense of the term. He loved home and wife with the fervor of 30 years, during which no children had blessed the union. He regretted to die for his wife's sake, but he met death with the calmness of a soldier.

On March 24th, Conductor James J. Doyle entered the baggage car of the construction train. Dooley complained of feeling ill and said that he was experiencing deep agony. His face showed it. Conductor Doyle advised Dooley to leave the train but the latter clung to his post to the last.

On the return trip from Lockland to Dayton, Dooley failed rapidly, and Conductor Doyle saw that the expressman was critically ill. His face had assumed the pallor of death. When Middletown was reached, Dooley, still protesting, was removed from the train and given into the charge of Dr. Bundy, the road's physician and of Dr. Murray. His death occurred soon afterward. Long and continuous overwork may have hastened his decease. Heart failure was given as the cause.

Dooley was a member of the knights of St. John and of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, of which latter organization he was at one time an official of prominence. The conductors under whom he had served, together with the above organizations, contributed appropriate floral tributes. The funeral occurred from Rev. Wm. D. Hickey's church, St. Joseph's, and the ceremonies were beautiful and impressive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel A. Dowling, wife of Edward W. Dowling, who died Thursday night at St. Elizabeth hospital following an operation, will be conducted Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the residence, 225 Apple st., following which solemn requiem high mass will be chanted at Sacred Heart church at 9. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Dowling was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Welsh, pioneer residents of the city. She belonged to the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and to the ladies' auxiliary of the A.O.H.

Services for Dempsey L. Downs, 47, of 29 S. Delmar av., will be held at 8:30 a. m. Tuesday at the Charles W. Moore funeral home, 2006 E. Third st., and at 9 a. m. at Holy Trinity church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Monday.

Mr. Downs died at 12:20 p. m. Saturday at his residence. Born in High Grove, Ky., Mr. Downs had resided in Dayton for 37 years. He was employed by the Xenia Abatoir Co., Xenia, and was a former employe [sic] of the Focke Packing Co. of Dayton. He was a member of Holy Trinity church and the Isaac Walton league.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; his mother, Mrs. Nancy Downs; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Cron, Mrs. Grace Miller, Mrs. Inez Stiles and Miss Margaret Downs, and a brother, Joseph, all of Dayton.

The remains of Capt. J. S. Downs, Co. B., 4th Regiment, New York Volunteers, who was killed at the battle of Sharpsburg, Sep. 17th, 1862, has been brought to this city, where he formerly resided.

Funeral services for Lylburn R. Doyle, 24, who died Wednesday of Pneumonia, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at his late residence, at Crown Point, R. R. 4, and burial will be made at Hill Grove cemetery. He leaves a wife and baby son of five months, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Doyle. He was formerly manager of the Diamond Press company. Sent to Camp Sherman in September, 1917, one of the first men from Dayton to be called, he was later given an honorable discharge from military service, on grounds of dependency, because of his wife and baby.

Funeral services for Prof. Vincent Drufner, 48, dean of the University of Cincinnati's evening college and a native of Dayton who died Wednesday in Holmes hospital, Cincinnati, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Annunciation in Cincinnati. Mrs. Emma Duffy, 64, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at her residence, 20 Alberta st., following a weeks' illness of pneumonia. Funeral rites of Mrs. Laura H. Duncan, wife of John C. Duncan, will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the residence, 225 North Robert Boulevard. Rev. J. C. Massee will officiate. Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.

Adolphus Duningan, 80, of 112 Sprague St., died Tuesday. A retired paint mixer at the Tower Paint Co., he was employed there 30 years.

Survivors: a stepdaughter, Mrs. Louise Wooster of Detroit, Mich.; a stepson, James Nunn of Dayton, and a sister.

DURST, Edith E., age 78, of 2112 Gay Dr., Kettering, passed away Wednesday at Kettering Medical Center. She was a retired manager at Daytona Village. She was a charter member of the American Legion, Waterloo, Ind. She is survived by 2 daughters, Betty Eberly, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Pat Mastbaum, Kettering; 2 sisters, Leah Olinger, Stewart, Fla. and Bessie Brunner, Paris, Mich.; 1 brother, Paul Giessner, Montpiler [sic], Ind., 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Services 20 a.m. Saturday, Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, Ind. Burial Waterloo Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. at Feller Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Dye, 82, who died Saturday night at St. Elizabeth hospital will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Frank Riesinger funeral home. Burial will be in the Piqua cemetery. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry Millard, 126 W. Second st., with whom she resided; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a niece, Mrs. Clarence Breidenbach, and a sister, Mrs. Martha Betz, Seattle, Wash.
