One of the pleasant social events of the week occurred Sunday at Lancaster, Ohio where Lamson Linn, a veteran respected citizen, celebrated, with his wife and relatives, a golden wedding anniversary. All of the children were present and the occasion was one of great pleasure. Mr. Linn is 76 years of age and his estimable helpmate is 67, and both are in excellent health and bid fair to reach the century mark.

Among the Datonians in attendance were Mr. Sherman Linn, a son, and his fiancee. Besides the numerous relatives there were in attendance five children, fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and the following: Mr. and Mrs. William Linn, Felix Patton, wife and family, Charles Patton, wife and family, Samuel Powell, wife and family, Master Edgar Patton, Oliver Jewett, Miss Edith Linn, Eva Patton and Will Patton of Nelsonville, Ohio; Mr. Charles England of Carbon Hill, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hart of Richmond, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Wright, John Feigley, wife and family, Miss Jane Feigley, Mrs. James Feigley, Miss Marie Feigley, Miss Lillie Linn and Ervin Linn of Lancaster, Ohio.

Mr. Linn was a veteran in the Mexican and Civil wars and served with credit to his country. In the rebellion he was a member of Company H, Fifty-Eighth Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The company was organized at Camp Medill, Ohio on the 26th of November, 1861 and non-veterans were mustered out of service January 8, 1865.

During the above time he was in the following engagements and skirmishes: The battles of Fort Donelson, Tenn., Shiloh, Tenn.; skirmish at Milliken's Bend, La.; Hayne's Bluff, Greenville and Bolivar Landing, Miss.; battle of Fort Morgan, Miss., and Arkansas post attacked on United States gunboat, Pittsburg. In action at Rolling Fork, Miss.; in action while running the blockade of Vicksburg, Miss., Grand Gulf, Miss., Fort Beauregard, La., and in action at Sunsport, Ga. He rejoined the regiment at Vicksburg, Miss.
