Christian Rohrer, German [Township]

This gentleman is the son of Christian and Ann Maria Rohrer, of Lancaster County, Pa. He was born December 21, 1804, and lived in Pennsylvania till the year 1830, when he moved to Dayton, Ohio. He removed to German Township in the year 1831, and bought a flour- and saw-mill on Twin Creek, in which business he continued for sixteen years. November 29, 1832, Mr. Rohrer married Miss Margaret Emerick, of German Township; result of this marriage, five children, all of whom are now living. Mr. Rohrer has pursued the occupation of a distiller for twenty-five years; he has been a very successful man, and is very extensively known as a thorough business man. He has erected a very fine dwelling, a view of which may be found in this Atlas. Mr. Rohrer is known as one of the solid men of German Township.

He is one of the charter-members of the First National Bank of Germantown, in which he is a large stockholder. Mr. Rohrer has settled several estates, and has been appointed guardian for near a score of children, and has executed the trust with entire satisfaction.
