Surnames: RADABAUGH, STILES
Researcher: Adele Corbin

Date posted: Monday, February 1, 1999

Michael RADABAUGH was an early settler in Miami County. He was likely born in Pennsylvania and I believe him to be the brother of Peter RADABAUGH of neighboring Darke County, although there is no proof of this.

His first wife's name is unknown but by her he had the following children:
Sarah, Mary Emma (Polly), Michael, Hanna Sophia, William, Christina, Anna, Rebecca, Catherine, and Amelia.

The first wife apparently died and Michael then married Rachel STILES by whom he had two children, Isaac and Noah.

The RADABAUGH family left Miami County and headed off to St. Joseph County, Indiana, where Michael died in 1835. The older kids stayed in Indiana or moved farther west but the widow and her two children returned to Ohio.

Always interested in any info on this family.

February 4, 1999: I am seeking information about the John SEVERNS listed in the Miami Valley Database. He has numerous entries for deeds from 1825-1839, all for lots in Piqua. On one deed he is listed with a Catherine. Would this be the John Severns, originally from Monongalia County Virginia, who married Catherine Biggs and who was the son of Joseph Severns? Other SEVERNS names on the database generated from events in early 1800's are Edmond, Edward, Hannah, Jacob, and Richard. Relatives of John? Also on the database are other SEVERNS names on items from late 1800's - Catherine, Charles, Franklin, Harry, Joseph, Margaret, Richard, and William. Are some of them John's children? If anyone knows anything about any of these SEVERNS individuals - where they were from, who they were related to, please let me know. Thanks very much, Patsy Skeels, [email protected]

I am trying to find more information on my ancestor, Christian KRISE/KREIS/CRISE who lived in Miami Co. Ohio but was born in Frederick Co. MD. ca. 1790 but was in Miami Co. OH in 1814. His wife is referred to as both Hester and Esther.

They were Lutheran and lived in Monroe Township - he is listed in the 1828 and 1830 Enumeration of Miami Co. He died in 1840.

Although he was a farmer, he may have belonged to a fraternal organization and there should certainly be church records.

What fraternal organizations were active in 1830? Where are their records?

What Evangelical Lutheran churches were in the Monroe Twp. area in the 1810-1840 time span? Are their records on the Internet ; if not, where are they?

Thanks for any help.

THOMAS BAY b. 1758-1770 wife unknown
JAMES BEY or BAY
Possible children for THOMAS BAY;
HUGH BAY b. 1805-1815
ISABELL BAY b. 1810-1815
DAVID BAY b. June 10, 1809
JOHN BAY B. August 20, 1807
WILLIAM BAY b. 1790-1805

Information suggests that these children were born in Piqua, Miami County Ohio. JAMES BEY and WILLIAM BEY are both listed in 1820 Shelby County Census.
THOMAS BAY died possibly 1821 Shelby County. Is there anyway to find a probated will for that surname? How about burials in that county for either BAY or BEY?

Thanks.
