I am researching early BARNHART families in Miami County. Believe there were four brothers who migrated from Pennsylvania in mid-1830's possibly in company of others. Religious affiliation unknown. They may be related to BARNHARTS in Warren and/or Montgomery (Germantown twp) Counties, but not confirmed.

Tobias BARNHART (circa 1810 PA-1896) m Sarah Bashore, 8 children. Lived in Randolf twp Montgomery Co then moved to Troy in 1849. Burial location unknown. Will found. Barnhart Road near Troy named for him.

John BARNHART (12-15-1810 PA- 2-21-1889) m Elizabeth (Smith?), 5 children. Lived Darke Co, Clay twp Montgomery Co and Concord (near to Tobias) and Union twps Miami Co. Died/buried West Milton. No will. My direct ancestor/have add'l info.

Samuel H. BARNHART (1-1-1819 PA- 8-10-1896) m May E. (?), 6 children. Large land owner near Covington since 1838. Buried Highland Cemetery. Will found. Other family surnames Hartzell, Zink, Clark and Cranson.

Adam BARNHART (before 1816 PA- before 1850) m Prussey (?), 4 children. Lived Randolf twp (near Tobias), believe died suicide by hanging.

Burial location unknown. No will.

Land and court research have created some interesting linkages between these individuals. Am searching for anyone related and/or any information linking them to BARNHART family or location in Pennsylvania.

Thanks,

Terry R. Barnhart
