I read your notes on Jesse Coppock. Elizabeth Coppock b 1776 is my 4th g grandmother and her parents were Joseph Coppock and Jane Wilson. Parents of Jesse? Elizabeth married Moses Coate in 1794 at Bush River Monthly Meeting in So Carolina. Moses and his parents Marmaduke and Mary Jane Coppock were among the earliest settlers of Miami Co. They were Quakers who along with many others left So Carolina in the early 1800's to find a place to live without slavery.

Daniel SEIDERS/SIDERS (1831-1905) in 1856 drew up a power of attorney in Newton, Miami County, Ohio, for a man to look after his inheritance from his father Daniel SEIDERS/SIDERS (Abt 1794-Abt 1856) in Union County, PA. In 1850 both father and son were in Dauphin County, PA, and the son was in that area from 1860 until his death. The Newton, Ohio, connection is a mystery to me. Does anyone have a SEIDERS/SIDERS in that area? Is there a record of the elder Daniel in Newton about 1856?

Does anyone have anything on SEIDERS/SIDERS in Miami Co.

Hi,

Does anyone have information on this family who lived in UNION TWP.?

Martha Jane MURPHEY (1838-?) married David R. ALBAUGH in Miami Co. 5 Mar 1857.

David was the son of Samuel and Anna ALBAUGH. He was a farmer and he and Martha were listed in the 1870 and 1880 census of UNION TWP., Miami Co., OH.

Martha was the daughter of John W. MURPHEY and Margaret DEWEESE. Margaret d. in 1846 and John W. Murphey was living with his daughter and son-in-law, Martha and David R. Albaugh, at the time the Beers, History of Miami Co., was written (1880).

John and Margaret had several children, but only the names of two are known: Martha and SAMUEL D. MURPHEY who married ELIZABETH STEWART in Miami Co., OH.

Martha Jane Murphey and David R. Albaugh had the following children:

i. Laura B. Albaugh was born in OH circa 1858.
ii. Samuel O. Albaugh was born in OH circa 1860.
iii. Porter W. Albaugh was born in OH circa 1862.
iv. John B. (W.?) Albaugh was born in OH circa 1863.
v. Harvey H. Albaugh was born in OH circa 1865.
vi. Charley C. Albaugh was born in OH circa 1871.
vii. Anna G. Albaugh was born in OH circa 1875.

Am interested in contacting anybody who has information about this family. Would like info on all of the descendants.

Who are Margaret Murphey's brothers and sisters? Did they remain in Miami county or migrate?

Thanks,
Kay

I have been researching the following family. It is very sketchy, but some things are beginning to make sense. It appears the name was originally EDDINS, and after he came to Ohio the local clerks confused him with the IDDINGS families (also from N.C.).
Anyone else working on this family? I can use all the clues I can get.

THEOPHILIS EDDINS, 1760,
died 1820's, Miami Co., Ohio
s/o Theophilus Eddins Sr., & Elizabeth Daws
wife
marr @ 1786, ??

1. Gar Eddins, 1779,
2. Theodore Eddins, 1780,
3. William Eddins, 1797,
marr 1824, Sarah (1803- )
he died
4. SUSAN EDDINS, 1797/1800, N.C.
marr 1817, Ohio, CORNELIUS PIPPENGER (1796-1896)
she died 1831/34, Union Twp., Miami Co., Ohio (9 ch.)

Theophilis was in Moore Co., N.C. in 1790, and in Stokes Co.,
N.C. in 1800. He was in Ohio around 1810, and died after
1820 in Miami Co.
He is apparently the son of Theophilus Sr., of Lunenburg Co., Va.,
who was son of William EDDINS of Orange/Spots. Cos., Va.

By the way, I've found out a LOT about the ancestry of the PIPPENGER line, if anyone is interested.

Looking for information on CROZIER in Piqua around 1830-1840. My gg-grandmother Brillina CROZIER married Robert WILEY in Dec 1840 in Miami County. She was born in Ireland, according to my family tradition. There was a schoolteacher John CROZIER in Piqua around 1830 who I think might have been her father, but so far I haven.t been able to find out much about him. MVGI shows 3 marriages for John CROZIER, possibly all for the same man: 1831, 1832 and 1851. Does anyone know the CROZIER family of Piqua?

Always looking for more information on the family origins of these two men:

Two men I believe to be brothers were Michael RADABAUGH and Peter RADABAUGH. Michael lived briefly in Darke County prior to 1820 and then moved on to Miami County. In the 1830s Michael moved to St. Joseph County, Indiana, where he died in 1835. Michael's first wife's name is unknown but together they had 11 children.
His second wife was Rachel STILES who he married in Miami Co. in 1829. Peter RADABAUGH was an early settler of Darke Co. His wife was Elizabeth VAN CLEVE and they had eleven children. I believe the parents of Michael and Peter are Michael and Hanna RADABAUGH of the Lancaster/Dauphin Counties area of Pennsylvania but I can not prove this.
