ROBERT McGAUGHEY, a worthy resident of Smith township, and son of the above named William and Ann McGaughey, was born April 12, 1832, in this county. He was educated in the common schools of Smith township, and from his earliest years has been engaged in agriculture, at which he has been industrious and persevering and suc- cessful. He was married April 19, 1883, to Mary A. Feeley, who was born January 29, 1832, the daughter of William and Ann (Neff) Feeley. Her father and mother were natives of this county, and the former, who was a prosperous farmer, died June 3, 1885. Mr. and Mrs. McGaughey lived and farmed upon the old homestead, where Hiram McGaughey now resides, until 1875, when they moved to their present place of business. They are members of the Presbyterian church, and are highly esteemed by all.
