Are Medina County census records readily available to you? I'm looking for information on Alpheus BROWN, who said he was from Medina County when he bought land in Michigan in 1864. His brother Loomis BROWN appears on the 1850 and 1860 Medina census (Chatham TWP). I know next to nothing about Alpheus. Any info re birth, family, marriage, etc. appreciated. Thanks.

John M. Forsythe bought land in 1790-1907 Land Records. He had a son named Albert Delos Forsythe who was born in Medina Co.,Ohio 27 Jan.1862. John had 5 sons and 4 daughters. Names of those we know are, in addition to Albert, are Rob, Flora, Minnie, and Cora. The family moved to Kentucky, then Iowa and settled in Minneapolis in 1885. I am searching for info on Josiah STITLE and wife Sarah (maiden name unknown). They were in Trumbull county, OH, in 1840 census. Both were age 27. Living with them was Josiah's mother, Hannah, age 47. They appear in Homer twp, Medina county, OH, in 1850 census. A number of STITLE's are listed in Mahoning county census of 1850, also. Josiah's dtr, Priscilla, m my ggrandfather Henry REPP on 5 July 1868 in Wayne county, OH. Another dtr, Sarah, m William REPP on 31 Dec 1866 in Medina county. Am looking for any information on Jacob Laurence LIND. Born September 29, 1849 in Schoeneck/Nazareth area of Northampton Cty, PA, 9th child/4th son of John Philip and Elizabeth Whitesell Lind. Married March 3, 1873 to Maggie ZIEGLAR (ZIEGLER?) in Wadsworth/Medina, OH. One of his sisters also may have settled in that area -- Emma Louisa, 10th child, born February 8, 1851, married to ? Grover. Believe one or both of these families may have migrated to the West, possibly Oregon or Utah. Any information on children or descendants would be appreciated. Terry R. McGuire, I saw your inquire about the Baker family and Isaac Rice Boyer. I am interested in the RICE name. From whom did he get it? I have a Samuel JUDSON who married a Mrs. Arilla Rice maybe in Mclean Co. Penn and moved to Medina Co,Ohio abt 1830-40. I have not been able to find any Rice's to make any connections that far back. Amos HENRICKS (1813-1867) lived in Guilford Twp. from before 1840 to the late 1850's. He worked as a carpenter, making furniture, coffins and other items. He married Elizabeth MEANS in 1836 in Bucks Co. PA. She died in Medina Co. 1843. Children: Susanna (married Abraham OBERHOLZTER), Barbara (married Jesse SMITH) and Jacob (died as a babay). Amos married 2) Susanna BERGEY CASSEL, daughter of Abraham BERGEY and Elizabeth GROFF. Children: Levina, John Berge, Jeremiah and Franklin, all born Medina Co. A copy of Amos's ledger in which he kept track of the people he did business with and how he was paid is in the Wadsworth Library. Date on this is 1847-c.1857. Interested in information on all the above names.

Today, February 24, 1998, I learned that my birth mother was Blanch LUCAS and that my birth name was Robert Carl LUCAS and that I was born in Akron on December 9, 1928. I was susequently adopted by Edward and Isabel Allan of Wadsworth in Medina County. I expect Blanch Lucas was residing in Medina County, if not in Wadsworth at the time of my birth. Franklin James TILLOTSON, born in Brunswick, Medina County, Ohio on April 3, 1824, was married to Jane Ann SEXTON who in born in Brunswick, OH. on December 16, 1847. She was the half sister to Caroline Maria Sexton and the daughter of Henry Yeoman Sexton and Roxa ADAMS. Franklin and Jane Ann moved their family to Duplain, Clinton County, Michigan in 1852 along with the Hicks family. In so doing Franklin and Jane Ann were following in the footsteps of the Sextons who had moved there in 1850. I would appreciate any help on the TILLOTSONs, SEXTONs, AND BENNETTs.
